Sadly almost everything that happened in season 9 was spoiled for me in one way or another. Though regardless of that, I have to say 'The Last Problem' has a special place in my heart for not just being the final episode of G4 and for it being a heartfelt send off for fans and staff alike, but for helping me process my emotions about moving from the UK to the USA. It helped me process my fears of losing friendships, fearing new places, facing new career choices, and of course, accepting and being accepted by a new family. Though I still have to undertake this move in a litteral sense, this episode helped bring the emotions to the surface (much to my resistance) with what this move means.
@@LiamLightwolf REALLY?! THAT'S AWESOME! That would make Maddie the latest member of the MLP Analysis Community to get hitched (the most recent one being Firebrand and Aramau)
I still can't watch the finale without crying. I was 9 when I started watching this show. I am 18 almost 19 and every time I watch that last episode. I am not just seeing Twilight's journey, but also my own. A young unicorn who had more interest in books than freinds to the Princess of Freindship and ruler of Equestria with a supportive group of friends to guide her. And my own from a 4th grader who had more value in reading, drawing and swim practice than talking to other people to a Freshman in college who is studying nursing to help others in there time of need with a group of supportive freinds. Thank you mlp, for not just being entertaining but helping me grow up
5. I could watch this episode over and over again. Also, I wasn't expecting that big Star Trek reference. 4. The mane cast must have had a lot of fun coming up with the ideas for this. 3. I wasn't expecting an episode about the villains. I loved it. Especially the song. 2. The best part was Pinkie becoming a chaos god. It was both funny and a bit scary at the same time. Also, I love that Pinky and the Brain reference. 1. I actually applauded when this episode ended. It was the best way to end such an amazing show.
#5: Three seasons of build-up have led to this, and it did not disappoint! #4: I'm surprised the mane cast didn't write story ideas for episodes more often. This was so fun, and the ending was both heartwarming and awesome! #3: Dedicating an episode to the villains? Check. More world-building? Check. Non-stop funny moments? Check. Superb voice acting? Check. A great song? Check. Sounds like a fantastic episode to me! #2: Despite the controversy surrounding this episode, and the fact that I wish the real Grogar had shown up, I am convinced of two things. Firstly, while not perfect, this was a really fun two parter and the stakes have never been higher than this. Two, this was not worth sending Jim Miller death threats over. (Seriously, forget 4chan ever existed. It's better that way.) #1: I agree with this placing 100%. While this episode didn't make me outright cry like "The Mane Attraction" did, I definitely welled up during "The Magic of Friendship Grows". This episode made feel proud of being part of the brony fandom, and I sincerely thank the writing staff for all the memories they've given us over the years. My Top 10 for S9: 10. Going to Seed 9. The Last Laugh 8. The Ending of the End 7. Common Ground 6. Frenemies 5. The Big Mac Question 4. Between Dark and Dawn 3. The Summer Sun Setback 2. Sparkle's Seven 1. The Last Problem Honorable mentions: *She Talks to Angel *Dragon Dropped *The Last Crusade *She's All Yak Dishonorable mentions: *Daring Doubt *A Horse Shoe-In *2, 4, 6, Greaaat! *Uprooted
You know absolutely NO IDEA how much I *LOVE* Frenemies. Ever since the S9 premiere, I have been looking forward to seeing more of the villains. I loved their dynamic, they play off each other so well, heck, there was a very possible friendship, as twisted as it would be, that could of developed between them. And the song, THE SONG. We’ve had different villain songs over the years in MLP but this one takes the cake (Not counting the EQ movies). Cozy trying to get the three (or two of them) to get along in a deadly tango beat, them go right back to arguing with each other is both hilarious and completely entertaining to watch with the villains. I also wish we could of had more episodes with them, but maybe the fact we only had one (not counting Summer Sun Setback because it wasn’t villains-only) is what makes it all that much more great and valued. I love the dynamic between the Mean 3, and an entire episode with just them and 0 hero characters proved that their personalities alone was enough to carry an episode. And in the end, it turned out to be one of the best of the season, if not the show. “Frenemies” in my opinion is definitely in the Top 5-10 best episodes of the show.
Definitely! Watching the villains play off of each other for an entire episode was one of the best things MLP could of given us. And the song, also definitely in the Top 5-10 of the show.
Alexandra McGinnis I started this show with season 3. I binge season 1 and 2 on Netflix. I saw season 3 as it was airing on TH-cam. That was 7 years ago. I was like 10-12 then. I’m 18 now. I found Silver Quill reviewing the show. He was my favorite. I then found Dr. Wolf, Lighting Blitz, and Ink Rose too! Many other too, but you guys were my favorite. I was really devoted to the show during that time. I stay up to date for like season 3-season 6ish. I then started to watch them when they turn up on Netflix starting about season 7. My interest had faded and I found other shows to watch as I mature. Namely anime. Kind of like Ink Rose did. With season 9 in particular, it was not airing on Netflix which of course did upset me. But I was 17 then, soon to be 18. School was rapidly on my mind and it didn’t matter as much anymore. I did watch some episode of season 9 here and there. Got about half-way though. But yesterday my mom got Hulu for whatever reason, so I found myself watching the rest of season 9 today. And wow, that show was a reminder of how much I grew. How much of an impact that show had on my childhood. I remember how much I love Twilight. Tbh, I’m just like her. I started out with no real close friends when I first started as a 5th-6th grader. I lost friends who didn’t make me feel confidence when I was in 9th grade. After that, I felt a feeling that I didn’t need friends and I didn’t have any close ones. I kind of was always defensive since I been made fun of a lot. But this past year in particular had brought me closer to a few friends, and I’m starting to get somewhere on my friendship journey. With that being said, I’m going to college in 5 days and leaving my friends behind. That’s the downside of graduating high school a semester early. I’m scared of making new friends. I’m not sure how things will change. Yet I look forward to it. Despite being so anxious. That final episode left a tear in my eyes. My childhood had ended. I’m about to learn how to take my first step into real independent as I learn to become an adult. Growing up ain’t easy. I know this is a ramble at this point. But thank you to this community for being such a part of my childhood. It did lead to great places for me. And I am grateful for that. I would never of be where I am now, without everyone to guide me. I might not be as big a brony as I was when I was a middle schooler, but that doesn’t change the impact this show, and everypony had given me. Thank you
Great selection doc. Just when you think you've shed your last tear, it still happens. If MLPFiM can generate that kind of reaction - it is truly something special and glad to be there for the journey from early on and from here on out /)
Great list, Doc. I can agree with a majority of it, except for one thing. Do to personal experience, watching the Last Problem's 'problem' just upsets me. Now a days, it's far easier to keep in touch with friends thanks to the internet. As for the episode, while Twilight and her friends may not have time to see each other without that decree, Twilight is capable of teleporting to them instantly. Growing up, all we had was the landline and snail mail to keep in touch, so for me, I had to watch many of my friendships fade away so many times, it was become difficult for me to maintain them now. Aside from my own grievance, which I blame no one but myself for, the episode was a fantastic book end for the series. The highlight if the episode for me? Sunset Shimmer's cameo at the end.
#5: That was my #1 season 9 episode. #4: Same rank with you Dr wolf. #3: That was my #3 season 9 episode and better way to be bad is my #1 season 9 song. #2: This only in my honorable mention list. #1: I don't like story line time skip after 20 years, but give credit the magic of friendship grows is an amazing song to end the series.
Season 9 is my most favorite season of MLP: FiM even though I didn't get to see the final three villains being reformed instead of having one of the cliche punishments that is seen on some movies and TV shows.
My only regret with the show is that I didn't Discover it until 2018. But since I'm a person who finds joy in knowing the how, when and why of this world to better appreciate the present. This last one and a half years has definitely been an unforgettable experience in both quality entertainment and a beautiful fandom ,off which I still to this day stumble across hidden gems.
Linus on the Line I’m in the same boat as you. When I first got into MLP, “Marks for Effort” was the newest episode, but I am still glad that I was able to experience a full season and a half of new episodes with everyone else.
Linus on the Line The first episode I watched (and the one that sold me on the series) was actually “The Cutie Map.” “Marks for Effort” was only the most recent episode out at the time.
Jonathan Nerz Aldo now when i think about it. I descoverd it from a song cover of ”where not flawless” by land before time characters and then later when i look’t more into it, found comander firebrand. After that once the show came to netflix, I was hookt
Me too buddy. I used to be a blind hated on it for a long time, but after checking out the 2017 film in January 2018 it made me give the show a chance. And it is my favorite show ever now.
There was a line with the book of memories. It hinted that although the show is over the story will continue in another book referencing the comic book
Tears formed in my eyes from just watching the epilogues super emotional montage part in this video lol...Really goes to show how well that entire scene was nailed, when it can evoke emotion even without the song attached to it. It's crazy how many parallels this show has had for me over the years...Twilight moved from her home in canterlot, far away to a town that's kinda in the middle of nowhere. So did I. I moved from NY to another state in a town where I couldn't get around without a car and I didn't have one. I didn't get the choice Twilight got, and I never really made friends here. I couldn't, there was nowhere I could go to do so. Instead, I made friends online. I grew and healed thanks to the show. And I only saw the parallels after it ended...Twilight moves back home after all this time, and me? I'm doing the same. Moving back to NY in a few weeks. It's...crazy how much we've both changed just to end up back where we grew up. Stronger, and more put together than we were before lol. Meanwhile, the epilogue has meant different things to others. It's truly the mark of good writing, that it brought such great closure/was overall positively received. It's definitely my favorite of the season, and probably my favorite in the series for the closure to this great journey I really didn't expect to see. I'll forever be grateful they ended it this way.~
3:15 on the Justice League Unlimited commentary for the episode "This Little Piggy", writer Paul Dini said that comedy is like action...save the best one (joke) for the climax.
My list 5. The Beginning of The End- Sombra is a fun villian and a great way to set up the final arc 4. Frenemies- A funny villains only episode with a catchy as Fuck song 3. The Big Mac Question- The Funniest Episode of the Season and I almost teared up in the ending. Also, SugarMac is an adorable ship, fight me 2. Sparkle's Seven- If the 100th Episode (Slice of Life) is a fun fanservice episode than this episode is a fun episode that is packed with references to the show 1. The Ending of the End/The Last Problem- An amazing way to end off the series
I love the song the magic of Friendship grows.' sorry i got some thing in my eyes. i know i am not leaving the fandom. have a nice week and weekend every Pony and Brony's.
Agreed! I cried on ,,The last problem", screamed on ,,The ending of the end" and laught on ,,The Big Mac question" and especially to ,, Frenemies"(this episode just takes the cake". But if I need to be honest, my favorite episode is EVERY SINGLE ONE of them! Season 9 was so amazing, I can't imagine a better way for this story to end...
The biggest surprise is that The Summer Sun Setback apparently isn't even in the top 15. Anyways, this is my top 10 favourites list (favourites, not best, because then the order would be a little different). Honorable Mentions: - Common Ground - Dragon Dropped - Between Dark and Dawn - A Horse Shoe-In - Sparkle's Seven 10. A Trivial Pusuit - Just a fun time all around. Top tier Twilighting here, despite some bad behavior from Twilight 9. She Talks to Angel - Funny episode with a concept I love, executed to near perfection 8. The Last Problem - Really sweet, emotional episode that brought everything around full circle in a really satisfying way 7. The Last Crusade - Sweet, funny episode that finally did a parent conflict right. That's enough reason to put it on the list 6. The Big Mac Question - One of the funniest episodes in the season, with an extremely sweet ending and was framed with a pretty enjoyable setup 5. Student Counsel - The adventure was pure gold. Probably the funniest episode in the season 4. The Ending of The End - Filled with tons of entertaining action and emotional moments and other great finale stuff. There were some issues though, like the Grogar twist, and the fact that there was a fair bit of plot induced stupidity 3. The Summer Sun Setback - A really wholesome episode, with great comedy, great character portrayals and interactions, a solid story, good development for Twilight, and the villains' interactions were great as usual 2. The Beginning of the End - a surprisingly funny premier, which was also really tense, exciting, and the start of the villain arc was so freaking good. It was amazing seeing all of those villains interacting with each other for the first time. 1. Frenemies - There are many reasons not to put this episode so high up, but it was just so much fun, with the best villain interactions in the season, arguably the best song in the season, and a simple but highly entertaining story that really worked for getting the villains to know each other better.
Window as a Neo brownie who live in Washington for almost 3 years I suddenly grew attached to the show as well as its fanbase! What are some things I would gladly took attention to but there were some tiny problems that eventually would repeat history overtime that would actually make a good SQL story that I could create how to open a new challenge for Twilight New Kingdom as well as her protege; as well as a new character that will be the anti-villain that would be on Equestria side but yet against the Alicorns except Flurryheart!
Also...I know he's got his hands full at the moment. But I feel like The Big Mac Question would be the PERFECT episode for Firebrand and Aramau to review/react. Perhaps, they could join Thespio and Midnight Sonata for it. The same thing could be said with The Last Crusade...except I imagine Lightning Bliss reviewing/reacting to THAT one
Dr wolf I bet u freaked out when u saw spike included in the elements I never questioned I knew spike was the unknown green element I just wish we saw what it was titled maybe gen 5 or the second movie will help
WHat else can I say but season nine was a blast and a good send-off. I've been following this show for 6 years and I look forward to the next generation series in the 2020s. Here's hoping G5 will be just as good as Friendship is Magic was.
My favourite 10 episodes in MLP season 9: 10: Student Counsel 9: The Beginning of the End 8: The Big Mac Question 7: Sweet and Smoky 6: Between Dark and Dawn 5: The Summer Sun Setback 4: A trivial Pursuit 3: Frenemies 2: The Last Problem 1: The Ending of the End
I have to give a special thanks to the fandom for making me appreciate this story. it was in 2014 in my second year in University. and I was avoiding MLP because of how I viewed it was "girly". But after seeing a few fan videos on youtube I decided to watch a few episodes and quickly grew to appreciate it. I may never be a die hard fan like Dr. Wolf, ANY, Voice of Reason or Firebrand. but this show will no doubt have a place in my heart like other shows from my childhood such as "Arthur" where I can look back and remember the valuable life lessons that I believe will be timeless.
#5: Even as someone who prefers CheeriMac to SugarMac this was a good way to resolve their relationship, even though it feels like they cut corners on what should've been a much stronger episode. #4: It may be a jumbled combination of clashing ideas from each of the main VAs, but it's done in such a way that you can't help but love it. I just wish they could've spent a bit more time polishing the script to give Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie's parts a bigger contribution. #3: It's the villain team-up we'd always wanted and it did not disappoint. "A Better Way to Be Bad" even sounds like it could be Cozy Glow's villain song, if only Season 9 had given us an explanation as to why she is what she is. #2: The "Grogar was actually Discord" twist killed a lot of potential with this two parter, it was poorly thought out and poorly executed. It undermined Twilight's character growth and made the Legion of Doom way too powerful. The final battle and the second half really boosted this, but I'm glad this wasn't the end. #1: As great as this episode is and as powerful a send off as it gives it kind of feels rushed, particularly with all the animation mishaps and the end credits just being the regular show theme. Plus, could they not pitch shift the voices for Twilight and Spike to sound lower? It was great how they didn't skip over the coronation while also not making it the entire focus of the episode though, it's almost everything we wanted in a final episode. I know you gave honorable mentions to "She's All Yak", "Student Counsel" and "The Last Crusade" and I think the latter two deserve a mention on the list proper.
My top 10 bottom episodes 10: Point Of No Return Me: Did Twilight seriously not think to check every nook and cranny for any books? Given how she loves books it’s safe to say that she wouldn’t dare forget a book. 09: She’s All Yak Me: Rarity wasn’t secretly bringing Yona’s inner beauty out and sending the message that you’re beautiful the way you are and you don’t need to change for someone else, but you can change yourself in the right good way 08: Going To Seed Me: Ugh, Applejack is more responsible than this. 07: Between Dark And Dawn Me: The beginning left a bitter taste in my mouth and that stuck with me till the end. They had a plan and each of them were being selfish 06: Sweet And Smoky Me: I feel like Garble was getting a free pass for him bullying someone and getting away with it, this episode would’ve been better if it tackled the issue of bullying in the correct way 05: Student Counsel Me: All Trixie was thinking about was the picnic and not on Starlight’s mental health, they could’ve postponed the picnic till later so everything could be in order, but this was brushing off Starlight’s mental health and not addressing it head-on, have Trixie realize that the amount of Stress is weighing on Starlight and have a talk about what’s been going on lately, that could’ve foreshadowed that she was the perfect candidate for a counselor. It gives Trixie more depth and not all about her ego and more character development that Starlight was a positive influence on her. 04: 2, 4, 6, Great Me: I was angry all through this episode and it’s because Rainbow Dash was acting like a b*FlutterShy yay*ch 03: Last Crusade Me: This isn’t my favorite episode because people had forgot that Scootaloo is a minor, and she had no say in where she lives at all. This could’ve been a good episode that friends will move away due to their parents jobs transferring them around different locations and this is a personal hit for me because my mother was moved around to different Bob Evans locations and I sadly had to say goodbye to my friends all because I was a minor and I had no say in where I’m going to live. This episode just took Scootaloo’s side all because she’s a child and it’s for her “mental health”, f*FlutterShy*k off because I’ve been moved around so many times that I’ve gotten used to it. To all who hate Scootaloo’s parents for neglecting her, at least they love her enough to leave her behind and grow up not surrounded by vicious creatures that might attack her because she’s a filly. They are zoologists and that means that they need to study very dangerous animals and they didn’t want to risk their only daughter to get hurt and them regretting taking her with them. They would’ve been shamed for the exact same reason if she was swallowed up by a cragodile or any other wild animal that is dangerous and can cause death. 02: Trivial Pursuit Me: This just back tracked Twilight’s character development to season 1, This would’ve been acceptable in an earlier season instead of the last season 01: A Horse shoe-In Me: I was trying not to punch Trixie in the mouth for her ignorance and unprofessionalism. {10:00}
Tonya Alleyne Watch part 1 for the top 10, here I’ll link you the video so you can see which episodes that were enjoyable for me. To be honest, Last Crusade was a personal episode for me and I put it on this list because of how much hate Scootaloo’s parents get and how they’re being shamed for neglecting their daughter, from the way I see it, they left her with responsible adults that are WILLING to take care of her while they are away and not take up too much of the guardian’s time if they have other things to do and also they work in a dangerous environment where they might come across wild animals. Given how Scootaloo is a child, she wouldn’t understand how dangerous those creatures were even when her parents tell her not to go near them. It might be common sense for adults to steer clear of wild animals, but not to little kids, they may not understand why mommy and daddy tell them that they can’t go near certain animals even though they look cute. #10: This episode is boring just like She All Yak. #8: Actually, I like AJ being less stubborn in this episode. #7: Siblings arguments is normal, I might biased because is a Luna episode. #6: Your point for this episode remind me of One Bad Apple, except here is better for my taste. #5: Trixie was right in this episode, Starlight has too much stress for her job and also nice foreshadow for Trixie getting the job in the future. #4: This episode is Honest Apple 2.0, except done better. I blame Twilight Dorkkle for trolling RD, and Hasbro just try to entertain those haters for making her into worst pony but that didn't work on me, I still like Rainbow Dash so in your face Hasbro. #3: I feel like this episode just there, Scootaloo’s parents are less worst than anime parents. #2: I seriously hate Twilight Dorkkle behavior in this episode, she literally forgot the lesson she learned 11 episodes ago. #1: Blame Hasbro for turning Trixie into an idiot to entertain the haters again, I seriously don't understand what their jackass problem with Starlight and Trixie. They just want treat my best waifu Starlight like a punching bag for their pitiful entertainment.
Big Mac and Sugar belle : Will you marry me, Eeyup Me : Aghh......My heart 5:04 The true villain of the series have arrive. The Last problem, The magic of Friendship grows it still get to me.
I hated to see mlp end. I bcame a brony in 2017 when I and my late wife took our granddaughter to see mlp the movie. I am glad Tempest redeamed herself. I also loved frienemies and the mean 6.I have not seen the final episode. But I will watch it now. I enjoy your channel. I love Horses. Myself I am a retired Horse surgeon out of Stafford Texas. Equine sports medicine and Surgery. Bravo on your insight and synopsis on the mlp episodes. 🐴😊
I'm not sure if this is the time or place for this Doc. so feel free to hold off on reading this, it's a bit lengthy But given that the series is now over, I just want to say thank you and all those like you Silver, Firebrand, Mad Munchkin, Lightning Bliss, and the other MLP analysis members for sticking around all these years and doing everything in your power to spread the message and themes the series tries to offer. I got into the fandom when i found out about Twilight's fight with Tirek, I watched a video on Tirek's G1 form to see the reference and then decided to watch MLP on netflix from S1 to better understand the world and series and by the time i watched that glorious battle I considered myself a fan of the series. Then i found out there are people who talked about the series online, and while I am sad that i learned of you guys through an individual who has become very vindictive and rather vitriolic, I was happy to see people discussing the themes, the archetypes, and just the series in general, and the collabs helped to make the community feel like a nice place to view content. Needless to say watching the works you guys have done made me think a lot and understand some morals and even helped to reinforce or adopt ideas into my own character. I'm proud to be a fan of the work you guys do and of the series...not sure if that qualifies me as a Brony though? The series may have ended and the final bronycon came and went, but I do hope you and the others will stick around and continue to cover more MLP stuff going into Gen5 or even cover things for the S10 comics yet to come. Regardless, Please keep moving forward doc, this goes to all of you in the Brony Analysis community. Please keep spreading the magic of friendship even when others may mock or turn you away Please keep making videos to help those who need it. Please don't let the past and those chained to it try to chain all of you as well. I and many others still believe (P.S. don't let the name fool you, I may carry Sith in it but I am more of a practitioner of having balance in my life as opposed to one absolute method of the force hehe)
I have a question that's unrelated to the video and I'm pretty curious: What's your thoughts on the new FTC ruling and the changes TH-cam is making related to COPPA? Are you worried about what that might do to your channel?
5. I really enjoyed this episode, one of most creative executions as well. 4. I really wish MLP gave the VA's more parts in writing a whole episode, guess that makes this episode more of a great one then it already is. 3. Honestly, Frenemies may just be my number one favorite episode of the entire series. Just the interactions between these big villains being so frustrated with eachother, but still finding a bond that makes them feel genuinely care for one another and that making them feel like the most realistic villains in the show while still being actual threats just makes them one of my favorite parts of the show with how little time they get. 2. Honestly, while it was one the biggest events in the show, The Ending of the End may just be the biggest disappointment I've seen in a show. I know there always can be improvements to a episode or movie, but the problems not only ruined quite a bit of season nine but some of the whole show. Cause it made Discord look like a dude who's not learned a thing or being an ally, ruining a perfect chance of the villain trio getting the best redemption arc after lots of poorly done ones. It's just why give us audience some more perspective and care for them and yet act like they're completely irredeemable even after forgiving everyone else? And seeing the main characters cheer at what is described to be a public execution after the villains where fooled by Discord's manipulation, just makes it feel like The Mane Six went against everything they stood for being the hero's in this show as beings who don't care to help out folks who will most likely be released someday onto a new generation of people against three villains who've gone more downhill mentally and smarter it feels like The Mane Six screwed up big time for their people. I can go on about many other big issues the finale had but in short I felt like it was a mess of a finale that could've easily been one of the best episodes. 1. I'm very happy this was the true final episode. I have some issues. Like Twilight's coronation felt like a punch to the face. Honestly Magical Mystery Cure made me get emotional and even cry where as this felt like nothing for the one main thing we've been building up to for nine years. And Twilight at first makes it seem like she's gonna say that it's okay to be an introvert, but later just slowly manipulates her student into friendship. It would've been amazing to see an anti lesson in that it's okay to be an introvert. With someone like Moondancer she knew that she wanted friendship but made her actually go through hanging out with people before not being an introvert anymore. Where as Luster probably hasn't ever had friends just hears about it instead of actually experiencing it to realize it's something she wants. Aside from those though, I'm very happy that this is where they ended it. I loved seeing the future setting in just thinking of all the possibilities behind it. And the final song may just be my favorite song in the entire series. It made the long journey worth it in the end. Of course the show isn't perfect, but it did perfectly impact all of us Bronies and Peggasisters out there. Thank you My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Brohoof
You want to know another thing about MLP being over? There won't be another show like it that isn't afraid of shaking up the status quo and making big changes ever again.... the Chat Blanc episode from Miraculous Ladybug was the definitive evidence of that for me... (fans of the show knows what I mean)
Not to worry! There'll always be shows that push or test their limits. There always have been. Take Captain Planet for example: a show, aimed at children, about being environmentally friendly, which had the guts to tackle the topic of drug usage and overdose. My point is, there'll always be a show willing to shake things up, at least a bit! You never know, the writing staff for FiM will probably end up working on other shows, like how Rebecca Sugar went from working on Adventure Time to creating Steven Universe! (Two shows that also like/liked to shake things up)
I loved the Avengers: Endgame like part at the final battle. Everyone from the series and movie coming together to save the world. "Equestria!...Assemble."
Honestly it wasn't even a battle. It was almost entirely off screen with the only thing happening being running at the trio, stomping making Chrysalis fall down, and Cozy getting spun around. I'm happy you liked it not trying to take that away at all, but I just felt like it was underwhelming for something that had a great opportunity.
Macaroni Zero I wouldn’t mind seeing him do therapy sessions with My Hero Academia characters it would be interesting to see Doctor Wolf have a therapy session with Midoriya and Class 1-A and All Might as well as villains
NixxGen95 I wouldn’t mind he did a series of crossover Therapy session, with characters like Batman or Samus Aran. I had an idea like that once, starring Twilight instead
Dear fellow bronies we need to talk about he coppa problem we need to put a stop to this and save TH-cam and the million channels onboard all we have to do is go to FTC.com and type in a letter telling them why we love TH-cam and make them change there minds so go to FTC.com and type in the letter right now and stop thus until Dec 9th the fate of TH-cam is in our hands
it does feel weird that the show has ended. i just hope the new weird looking series is good. i'll give it a chance. just hope the staff don't screw it up like they did with Teen Titans Go
Watched Parts 1 and 2 on my SMART TV's TH-cam today. Here is the list of my favorite and hated episodes of MLP: FiM Season 9: MOST LOVED: - Uprooted - Sparkle's Seven - The Point of No Return - Frenemies - Sweet and Smoky - Going to Seed - Student Counsel - The Last Crusade - Between Dark and Dawn - The Last Laugh - 2, 4, 6, Greaaat - A Trivial Pursuit - She Talks to Angel - Dragon Dropped A Horse Shoe-in - Growing Up is Hard to Do - The Big Mac Question - The Last Problem (one of my most favorite finales of a cartoon) MY MOST HATED😬: - The Beginning of the End Parts 1 and 2 - Common Ground - She's All Yak - The Summer Sun Setback - Daring Doubt - The Ending of the End Parts 1 and 2 What do you think of my list?
I've asked you once before, in your review of the final problem, what are you going to do now? You didn't respond to me on that one, which is understandable, you get hundreds of comments on each video I'm sure and you couldn't possibly take the time to respond to all of them. But I'm sure it's a question on many peoples minds now. So once again I ask you Dr. Wolf, What's next for you? Can i get an upvote for everyone asking the same question?
@@DRWolf001 I'll be honest, I find that hard to believe. You seem like the kind of guy who would have been thinking about this since they announced that season 9 would be the last season. Though I can also see how, after all this time, not planning ahead could be sort of liberating.
Marble Pie and Big Mac are Real True Love. Not Stupid Sugar Belle I Hate Her.King Sombra a Good Guy.I don't Like Hurt Cozy Glow she Just a Child is Wrong to Hurt Her.
💟
Out of curiosity, what did you mean by "being accepted by a new family"
@@sadlobster1 she's getting married! 😁
@@LiamLightwolf REALLY?! THAT'S AWESOME!
That would make Maddie the latest member of the MLP Analysis Community to get hitched (the most recent one being Firebrand and Aramau)
Well twilight 2.0 is now like sonic 2019
I still can't watch the finale without crying. I was 9 when I started watching this show. I am 18 almost 19 and every time I watch that last episode. I am not just seeing Twilight's journey, but also my own. A young unicorn who had more interest in books than freinds to the Princess of Freindship and ruler of Equestria with a supportive group of friends to guide her. And my own from a 4th grader who had more value in reading, drawing and swim practice than talking to other people to a Freshman in college who is studying nursing to help others in there time of need with a group of supportive freinds. Thank you mlp, for not just being entertaining but helping me grow up
Pinkie: *I COULD TRANSFORM THE COSMOS SO EVERYTHING IS MADE OF ICING!*
loved that part.
That line make me think Pinkie become the pony verse of Galactus. Well, good think Discord manage to stop her before that happen.
That line actually reminded me of S4 premiere when Pinkie gushed about icing then lol.
Gameloft's Chaos Princess Pinkie Pie suddenly makes much more sense.

Pinkie just got a taste of

PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWEEEERS!
I was bawling hard at the last episode.
With the praise given to "Summer Sun Setback" I was expecting that episode on this list.
Most of these are some of my most favorite episodes in both season 9 and the entire series.

The chaos pinkie part made me laugh in surprise
Thank you Dr. Wolf The magic of friendship lives on forever. :-)
It's better that way.)
#1: I agree with this placing 100%. While this episode didn't make me outright cry like "The Mane Attraction" did, I definitely welled up during "The Magic of Friendship Grows". This episode made feel proud of being part of the brony fandom, and I sincerely thank the writing staff for all the memories they've given us over the years.
My Top 10 for S9:

3. The Summer Sun Setback
2. Sparkle's Seven
1. The Last Problem

*She Talks to Angel
*Dragon Dropped
*The Last Crusade
*She's All Yak
Dishonorable mentions:
*Daring Doubt
*A Horse Shoe-In
*2, 4, 6, Greaaat!
I'm so glad Frenemies got in the top 3. It was definitely my favorite episode from season 9. I watched it 11 times XD
Definitely! Watching the villains play off of each other for an entire episode was one of the best things MLP could of given us. And the song, also definitely in the Top 5-10 of the show.
What a list Doctor Wolf. I admire your thoughts on The Last Problem as the best of Season 9.
Alexandra McGinnis
I started this show with season 3.
Thank you
Glad to be of service :)
Just asking, might you make a Top 10 for the show as a whole?
"AND WOOSH WE FLEW AWAY!" -granny smith
Season 9 is easily one of the best seasons of the show and it is an improvement over season 8
Jonathan Nerz Good for you, i sadly cant remember exacly when i really got into the show given that it happenings very gratiully.
The best episode in Season 9 is, the finale, "The Last Problem."
So wonderful to see Dr. Wolf as an OC doing the list again. And we'll see you for G5...
You have been the authoritarian on everything MLP for the last eight years I believe your list is exactly as it should be
Tears formed in my eyes from just watching the epilogues super emotional montage part in this video lol...Really goes to show how well that entire scene was nailed, when it can evoke emotion even without the song attached to it.
My list
5. The Beginning of The End- Sombra is a fun villian and a great way to set up the final arc
4. Frenemies- A funny villains only episode with a catchy as Fuck song
3. The Big Mac Question- The Funniest Episode of the Season and I almost teared up in the ending. Also, SugarMac is an adorable ship, fight me
2. Sparkle's Seven- If the 100th Episode (Slice of Life) is a fun fanservice episode than this episode is a fun episode that is packed with references to the show
1. The Ending of the End/The Last Problem- An amazing way to end off the series
I love the song the magic of Friendship grows.'
sorry i got some thing in my eyes.
i know i am not leaving the fandom.
have a nice week and weekend every Pony and Brony's.
Love mlp season 9 is the bast show ever💖💖🌈🦄
Honorable Mentions:
- Common Ground
- Dragon Dropped
- Between Dark and Dawn
- A Horse Shoe-In
- Sparkle's Seven
10. A Trivial Pusuit - Just a fun time all around. Top tier Twilighting here, despite some bad behavior from Twilight
9. She Talks to Angel - Funny episode with a concept I love, executed to near perfection
8. The Last Problem - Really sweet, emotional episode that brought everything around full circle in a really satisfying way
7. The Last Crusade - Sweet, funny episode that finally did a parent conflict right. That's enough reason to put it on the list
6. The Big Mac Question - One of the funniest episodes in the season, with an extremely sweet ending and was framed with a pretty enjoyable setup
5. Student Counsel - The adventure was pure gold. Probably the funniest episode in the season
4. The Ending of The End - Filled with tons of entertaining action and emotional moments and other great finale stuff. There were some issues though, like the Grogar twist, and the fact that there was a fair bit of plot induced stupidity
3. The Summer Sun Setback - A really wholesome episode, with great comedy, great character portrayals and interactions, a solid story, good development for Twilight, and the villains' interactions were great as usual
It took me so long to watch the last few episodes. But I am glad I finally did.
Great list and I loved a lot of these episodes, like many fans I'll miss this series
After watching the final two-parter and seeing what happened to Chrysalis, I shudder to think what will happen to Fluffle Puff
My favourite 10 episodes in MLP season 9:
10: Student Counsel
9: The Beginning of the End
8: The Big Mac Question
7: Sweet and Smoky
6: Between Dark and Dawn
5: The Summer Sun Setback
4: A trivial Pursuit
3: Frenemies
2: The Last Problem
1: The Ending of the End
I have to give a special thanks to the fandom for making me appreciate this story. it was in 2014 in my second year in University. and I was avoiding MLP because of how I viewed it was "girly". But after seeing a few fan videos on youtube I decided to watch a few episodes and quickly grew to appreciate it. I may never be a die hard fan like Dr. Wolf, ANY, Voice of Reason or Firebrand. but this show will no doubt have a place in my heart like other shows from my childhood such as "Arthur" where I can look back and remember the valuable life lessons that I believe will be timeless.
Pretty agreeable choosing to me. Lots of significant episodes in this season.
6:26 Pinkie and The Brain
3:33 favorite episode of the entire series
Agreed.
4:30 brain will sue you with Pinky for stealing his line.
Wh-whats wrong with the villains being to powerful, isnt that the point?
The Countdown to #1 is about to conclude! Can’t wait to see what you #1 is Doc 😍😍😍
Always a Fan Dr Wolf 💙🐱💙
My top 10 bottom episodes
10: Point Of No Return
Me: Did Twilight seriously not think to check every nook and cranny for any books? Given how she loves books it’s safe to say that she wouldn’t dare forget a book.
09: She’s All Yak
Me: Rarity wasn’t secretly bringing Yona’s inner beauty out and sending the message that you’re beautiful the way you are and you don’t need to change for someone else, but you can change yourself in the right good way
08: Going To Seed
Me: Ugh, Applejack is more responsible than this.
07: Between Dark And Dawn
Me: The beginning left a bitter taste in my mouth and that stuck with me till the end. They had a plan and each of them were being selfish
06: Sweet And Smoky
Me: I feel like Garble was getting a free pass for him bullying someone and getting away with it, this episode would’ve been better if it tackled the issue of bullying in the correct way
05: Student Counsel
Me: All Trixie was thinking about was the picnic and not on Starlight’s mental health, they could’ve postponed the picnic till later so everything could be in order, but this was brushing off Starlight’s mental health and not addressing it head-on, have Trixie realize that the amount of Stress is weighing on Starlight and have a talk about what’s been going on lately, that could’ve foreshadowed that she was the perfect candidate for a counselor. It gives Trixie more depth and not all about her ego and more character development that Starlight was a positive influence on her.
04: 2, 4, 6, Great
Me: I was angry all through this episode and it’s because Rainbow Dash was acting like a b*FlutterShy yay*ch
03: Last Crusade
Me: This isn’t my favorite episode because people had forgot that Scootaloo is a minor, and she had no say in where she lives at all. This could’ve been a good episode that friends will move away due to their parents jobs transferring them around different locations and this is a personal hit for me because my mother was moved around to different Bob Evans locations and I sadly had to say goodbye to my friends all because I was a minor and I had no say in where I’m going to live. This episode just took Scootaloo’s side all because she’s a child and it’s for her “mental health”, f*FlutterShy*k off because I’ve been moved around so many times that I’ve gotten used to it. To all who hate Scootaloo’s parents for neglecting her, at least they love her enough to leave her behind and grow up not surrounded by vicious creatures that might attack her because she’s a filly. They are zoologists and that means that they need to study very dangerous animals and they didn’t want to risk their only daughter to get hurt and them regretting taking her with them. They would’ve been shamed for the exact same reason if she was swallowed up by a cragodile or any other wild animal that is dangerous and can cause death.
02: Trivial Pursuit
Me: This just back tracked Twilight’s character development to season 1, This would’ve been acceptable in an earlier season instead of the last season
01: A Horse shoe-In
Me: I was trying not to punch Trixie in the mouth for her ignorance and unprofessionalism.
{10:00}
maddy miller so what is your top ten or top five.
Tonya Alleyne
Watch part 1 for the top 10, here I’ll link you the video so you can see which episodes that were enjoyable for me.

KR Wizard
My opinion still stands on Trixie
@@maddymiller4146 What was your thought on the other four episode that not in your top and bottom list?
DrWolf, could you review the Netflix series, Green Eggs and Ham, please?
Big Mac and Sugar belle : Will you marry me, Eeyup
Me : Aghh......My heart
5:04 The true villain of the series have arrive.
The Last problem, The magic of Friendship grows it still get to me.
So what will you do now MLP gen4 is over?
I just realized something...Big Macintosh and Sugarbell look similar to Bright Mac and Pearbutter/Buttercup.
What about Scootaloo parents?
I'm not sure if this is the time or place for this Doc. so feel free to hold off on reading this, it's a bit lengthy
But given that the series is now over, I just want to say thank you and all those like you Silver, Firebrand, Mad Munchkin, Lightning Bliss, and the other MLP analysis members for sticking around all these years and doing everything in your power to spread the message and themes the series tries to offer.
Please keep spreading the magic of friendship even when others may mock or turn you away
Please keep making videos to help those who need it.
Please don't let the past and those chained to it try to chain all of you as well.
I and many others still believe
(P.S. don't let the name fool you, I may carry Sith in it but I am more of a practitioner of having balance in my life as opposed to one absolute method of the force hehe)
What can I say, except: I agree with you!
THE ONE THING... THE ONE THING IM ANGRY ABOUT IS THAT GROWN UP FLURRY HEART DIDNT GET ANY SCREEN TIME😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
#GiveFlurryHeartHerOwnFutureSeries
Brohoof
I didnt cry song
(Two shows that also like/liked to shake things up)
I loved all of season 9 a lot of emotionally episodes, and I have a theory , How did Twlight transform? As of now she is a fully grown Alicorn. xx
Here's to future generations of MLP!
I feel like season 9 is a pretty good for me and My little Pony 9/10.
So what will you do now?
He’s said he still going to continue with MLP related content, but he’s going to focus on other media as well
Macaroni Zero I wouldn’t mind seeing him do therapy sessions with My Hero Academia characters it would be interesting to see Doctor Wolf have a therapy session with Midoriya and Class 1-A and All Might as well as villains
NixxGen95
I wouldn’t mind he did a series of crossover Therapy session, with characters like Batman or Samus Aran.
I had an idea like that once, starring Twilight instead
Macaroni Zero really I also would like to see him do one with Steven Universe
Dear fellow bronies we need to talk about he coppa problem we need to put a stop to this and save TH-cam and the million channels onboard all we have to do is go to FTC.com and type in a letter telling them why we love TH-cam and make them change there minds so go to FTC.com and type in the letter right now and stop thus until Dec 9th the fate of TH-cam is in our hands
Well, what do we have ,a new great video.
it does feel weird that the show has ended. i just hope the new weird looking series is good. i'll give it a chance. just hope the staff don't screw it up like they did with Teen Titans Go

Netflix: There's a season nine?
Doctor who? Lol
Ngl, I kinda hated Sugarmac from the start
I cried 😭 but can't wait from the next generation
The only reason I was still watching mlp was because of the villains now im done with this.
So I’m guessing you also enjoyed “Frenemies”?
@@TDArulesclub4 Of course I enjoy frenemies that was my second favorite episode I wish they would made more episodes about them.
looks like this vidio I can still comment on on

hello dr.wolf, i love your videos they are wonderful and everything and i know that you help people and i want to do the same thing just like you
Hey everyone my sister is going to have a baby girl next year.
This is clickbait. Everyone knows that every episode is best episode.
no, there are some not so good episodes
gotta disagree.
There are a number of bad episodes, like Yakity Sax and Non-compete clause.
@@miniman649 those aren't from this season
@@NightLight9595 2, 4, 6 Great then. A bad episode in season 9, considering how royally they fucked up Rainbow's character.
@@miniman649 Rainbow Dash was already the worst.

I haven't come up with any particular plan for the long term. These days, I'm just making whatever I'd like to make in the moment.
Ugh it’s always the same thing top ten best. Jesus common why does no one do a top ten worst characters or episodes
Dr Wolf usually did top ten lists for the seasons and has a right to say what he believed was the best ones.
Hello! great season yea.
