Great Halloween video thsnk you. Mike outstanding video bi borrowed your idea on this layout had some halloween decorations that o had from last years. Halloween
MPC era Rio Grande rolling stock is a great source or cheap orange and black fright cars, especially gondolas! Keep up the great work, Mike, you always inspire!
Great video. I've been building a couple Halloween layouts to loan out to a couple local businesses, and I might just borrow that orange ground idea. As for scenery though, I've been going the route of prewar horror films, the rotting wood clapboard buildings, the foreboding Victorian mansions, that sort of thing. May I also suggest a slight reletter of Soo Line into Boo Line? One other idea, is to use a 3559 coal dump car, disconnect the coil couplers from the pickup shoes, and using an RCS track somewhere, dump candy out of the car 'on the fly'. The self-righting dump bin means you can also reload the car by hand without stopping.
I don’t know if this would count as a tip or trick but I find that the scout style coffin tenders look really good for a budget friendly auxiliary water tender. The trucks on the scout tenders make it so you just have to remove the scout coupler and snap on the postwar ones. And I tell you, when painted to match a specific steam locomotive or have the company herald, it really helps finish the look when a train has a long run ahead of it. Maybe consider giving it a shot if you have any spare tenders around
My Halloween Train won’t be ready until next year, but the central feature will actually be a Haunted Station-decorated with craft store supplies and supplemented by O scale figurines-so that the train has somewhere to stop. The train itself will hew closer to harvest theming that can be used for both October and November. Perhaps a skull on the locomotive nose, with reflective material on the inside to strengthen the headlight through the eyes, switched out for an Autumn wreath or even cornucopia come November.
I need help w/a Menards Santa FE locomotive and B unit. I tried to run my O Gauge Santa Fe F3 Diesel Locomotive Model Number: 2793945 Menards ® SKU: 2793945 The locomotive and B unit will not run. I need a suggestion on what to do. The rubber fell off the wheels and the "B" unit started smoking. Not happy. The engine set on the shelf. No one has touched them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Great tip!
It’s quite nice. I stick with orange and clack cars along with a steam engine. It’s static but it works.
Thank you for this video I am planing to make a halloween theme set up with my Transylvania Railroad general and other dollar store things
Glad it was helpful!
I plan on doing something kinda similar but with real pumpkins and making it a tunnel with the train going through lighting up the jack-o-lantern
Be careful. I foresee a gooey mess if something goes wrong!
Ooohhh, "ERIE" I get it! Duh me! 😃 😁 🤪
Fun project!!
Thanks!
