the hero characters are kinda sounding like legendary blades, i like that, but i LOVED the legendary blades in 2, seriously so many great characters. so gonna miss that but having a full 6-7 people at a time in your party is really good. sadly gonna have to wait a bit to get the game thanks to finances and as much as i wanna play this, a few other games are priority, bayonetta 3, pokemon violet and a few tohers coming out soon
I will never forget Shulk. The Story was insane in 1 and his VA did such a good job. I hope 3 can unite 1 and 2 in a satisfiying way. 1 will forever be my favourite though.
I’ve played 40 hours and I can definitely say this is my new favorite Xenoblade game. I loved definitive edition but the gameplay was not as good and me being completionist, I was frustrated about missable items. This game seems like an improvement of the first and second game (definitely the second). I never played the second but I can tell my enjoyment from what I’ve seen. The only thing I was disappointed was the resolution in handheld and docked mode. It just didn’t pop as much as I wanted to. I think xenoblade 2 looks better overall tbh.
If I manage to beat Xenoblade 2 I can beat this one. Also this one being better than 2 is a very low bar anyway. Glad that is more compare to Xeno1 than 2.
Not sure if I would get an answer, but are sidequests generally in any awkward situations where something urgent is going on in the story arc but the party just randomly decides to fetch someone's frying pan or something. This really bothered me in XC2

i had also that the game freezes short times, but only after playing long sessions, and before a crash. The game crashed 2 times and i did play a lot so not to bad, also autosaves are a thing
I've seen the leaks about the ending and i agree that it feels a bit......off. Hopefully the DLC DOES eventually fix that, but it still feels like they kinda screwed up.

If anything I give credit to this reviewer for being honest bringing light to a subject that seems to go overlooked by other outlets. Now who knows the ending may be better than initially perceived but the issue I’ve expressed has been a common theme throughout the gaming industry.

@@sdtrawick Imo there were no loose ends at the end of XC1 if you know the backstory of what really happened with Klaus from XC2. The only big loose end of XC2 would be the awakening of Pyra and Mythra, even though I heard theories that Pyra replaced Ontos as the third core of the Trinity processor
Torna was originally supposed to be it's own chapter in base XB2 but it was cut to be made into DLC, probably for being too ambitious since it's a prequel set in brand new sizeable map plus a slightly different Gormott map. I think the XB3 DLC exists for similar reasons, it just sucks that it's an epilogue which seems to be more crucial to XB3's story than Torna was to XB2. Based on the cover art for the DLC with the three swords though, if it really is some big crossover between Noah, Rex and Shulk in a new world similar to XB1's Future Connected that caps off the trilogy I'd be okay with it being a separate chapter, I know Takahashi said in a recent interview XB3 is the end of this "thematic arc" too. Expansions like Torna or Witcher 3 Blood and Wine that feel like small games in and of themselves are worth the money imo. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I wonder if the ending really is that bad Many games have cliffhanger endings and as long as the overall story is great I don’t mind especially if we get a sequel or bonus story. Idk I hate cliffhangers, I want my stories/characters to get a conclusion. You can have an ending that finishes the story while still being open to a continuation. No matter how good the "journey" was if the ending is bad it ruins the whole thing, afterall the ending is your last experience with the game. Imagine eating something really good only for your last bite to taste like shit, the meal is ruined.

To me xenoblade more than makes up for it with great amount of consistent amazing story cutscenes I prefer a cliffhanger ending from an amazing story than let’s say botw’s lacklustre final boss fight and ending which arguably concluded ganon (before we knew about botw2) A bad ending and a cliffhanger don’t always belong in the same boat

Every single place that I look that delves deep into the story loves the ending, and given some of your misplaced takes on the plot points of 2, I feel like it’s far more likely to be just as high quality as ever. Not a dig at your at all, just what I’m seeing as probably the case So given the ending will probably live up to the amazing standard set by 1 and 2, this game looks nigh perfect for anyone going in for the world, characters, and story

Most look to do the opposite - they twitch and jerk between different animations, failing to complete a path or move realistically in battle. Instead all character and enemies have specific animations that they go through, and many animations to react to different attacks that can knock back, pull forward, hit normally, to the left, to the right, in the air, slamming down, etc. That’s more than enough for a game like this, where handcrafted design was the intent over physics like Yakuza
The bulk of the antagonist are pretty underwhelming due to one not personality and uninteresting personalities. Could probably of had less bosses with more character so they landed harder

Traversing the sea by boat and using a mech to fly are different experiences.

The story has a full complete ending. The DLC is over a year away and it will be a separate story scenario.

Don't get your hopes up. Torna and Future Connected didn't resolve a lot of loose ends from their main games.
I hate how they did this. With torna at least it was an optional prequel but this just feels scummy

2 was my first Xeno Chronicles and I loved it. I can´t stand how many times Shulk says Monado throughout the game. Small detail but really annoying.
There's a video that counts how many times Monado is said compared to aegis.

Nope, there is no DLC ending. The Expansion will be a completely separate story like Torna, probably with a different cast and changed combat.
