I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great th-cam.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.

Scott try turning the nailer 90 degrees. Due to the cut of the nails they only bend side wards so if you hold it the way you're doing it they pop out the side. If you turn the gun they bend up into the wood which is stronger

Nice job on your prototype and very outside the box thinking for the plywood support wings. When you mentioned the need to support the plywood sheet as you rip, a picture popped into my head, albeit a fuzzy one (read here I haven't got a clue about how to do it or if it would work), where you could have a few lightweight pipes built into the workbench just below or part of the top. And like some workbench drawers that can be slid out either side of a bench, I imagine the rods/pipes could be pushed/pulled out either side to support the work. To bad TH-cam doesn't give us a place to add a fuzzy drawing as I am not sure my wording describes it very well. Anyways, looks great already and I have no doubt it will be an awesome workbench when complete!

    Nice bench.
I've seen other TH-camrs build narrow Paulk benches like that and carry a pair of them to job sites. Small enough that you can use one at a time and easily carry them to the van, but when breaking down full sheets, you can set them up next to each other and clamp them together, and have a full-width bench.

Greating from way up...Montreal, I work with this drill/multi-tool more and more and the trick is that you have to grab it like if you were (mocking) a gun with your hand, triggering with you longer finger having you index along the side of the motor like if it was the barrel and your thumb will be naturaly on the top of the tool to switch back and forth...and voila.

Try adding a wee piece of masking tape to the dust extractor on the router/trimmer. It works pretty well for me, though it is a bit of a design flaw needing a bolt to do it properly. It kind of clicks into place and the tape just helps to stop it popping out.

Just heard your comment on the nail gun's line of sight, Milwaukee addressed that in their Gen 2 of that gun. One day I'll have the money to buy one of them. I have the M12 Installation Driver that you've got there, love the little guy! The interchangeable heads are really helpful and a lifesaver when they're needed. Hope you find the right opportunity before you have to send it back.

  • @JacobHesketh

Heads up, if you turn the gun 90 degrees the nails will only ever skew out left and right from the nozzle not forward and back. That way you can sight the nozzle of the gun more accurately over your line 👍

I have built a Paulk bench and was thinking about cutting a full sheet only using half the 8x4 bench. I was thinking a couple of pipes through holes with a pad on top to hold the sheet. Kind of the same concept as Ron uses to hold his Table saw flush to the bench.

  • @maackkrommes

Don't overthink it dude! For breaking down full width sheets, simply lay 3No. 2x1" battens across the 2' bench and add 1mm to your depth of cut. Then just keep 'em tucked in 1 corner of the van for next time. The battens will also prevent cutting into your shiny new benchtop as well, obviously. :-)
