You should also be able to ferment your pressed shell/byproduct stuff to increase the nutrition output before feeding it to your chickens (pigs would also really enjoy it, when you get back into them). Just throw it in a bucket/jar with some water and leave it for a few days until it gets good and bubbly and then feed it out.
Thanks for sharing. I think and and every seed you grow 😊and then hemp seed comes to mind or chia seed or maybe flaxseed. Your video was very encouraging and enjoyable. 😊thx again.
One of the beautiful things about making your own oil is you never have to worry about the oil going rancid because you do not have to store the oil. Only store the seeds with which to make the oil. God Bless Joe Scott Muddy Dog Ranch
Would love to see an update video on this - is the machine still performing well and what other oils have you tried? Curious if flavor is different than store-bought
Great video, thanks! I have this machine... 1. any recommended source to buy bulk sunflower seeds? I am bit hesitant buying the bag marked as bird seed 2. where can I buy safflower seeds thanks.
That is wonderful! Maybe you can try avocado, sesame, ricebran, mustard, corriander seed, amaranth, the possibilities are endless 😁 Maybe you can grow camelia oleifera tree and make tea seed oil, it's similar to olive oil.
I absolutely appreciated this post and hope to begin the same, I was curious of the potential for making avocado oil from the large seeds, and suggestions on perhaps breaking down...besides a hammer since I would imagine in order to maintain the Vevor press that it would require certain seeds as though and large to be broken down?
I have an industrial screw press sitting in my shop in MN. It’s yours if you want it. Just figure out how to get it moved. Weighs approximately 900 lbs. but will produce a lot of oil.
I have had a similar desire to grow my own oil! One thing you might try is Styrian pumpkins - their seeds don't need to be shelled and they grow well in a northern climate.
I watching you from Ethiopia and appreciate you thank you for sharing your experience. Please can I find the machine in anywhere in electronics stores?
Very cool! Wow those are a lot more affordable than I thought. Something to consider! Would be cool to grow sunflowers and then make your own oil from them! Interested to see/hear about other oils you make. Specially olive oil - my favorite oil lol. Thanks for sharing! 🤠
I bought a hand crank last year as part of my sustainability plan, and had the same idea about sunflowers 🌻 but not impressed with my press haha … would you consider showing us peanut oil? I am testing the oil rising method right now, but it takes 3 weeks to separate chopped peanuts from the oil in a cabinet (if it works). I ordered heirloom VA & TN peanuts for seed. I’ll be trying them in feed sacks next year!
@@Ebh1234 I couldn’t remember where on the internet I made this comment, but I’ve wanted to update it, so thank you. I tried the rising method for grinding peanuts and it’s been almost a year and not a drop of oil separated. As far as my oil press, I’ve tried it twice with sunflower seeds and didn’t heat it enough. I don’t think it was the best quality. Amazon has a seed oil press that’s been featured by youtubers but it’s like $150 ish. I’ve sense learned that seed oils aren’t great for us, so I’ve switched my focus to adding more tallow in my sustainability plan. Hope this helps.
Can this machine equally be use to for coconut oil. And if one is producing for commercial purposes what additives do one need and what quantity per litter. My NAME IS LADI ESTHER OGAH FROM NIGERIA.
Wow, the price is really low - like, so low I'd be skeptical about it if I hadn't seen you using it. On the one hand, something this inexpensive can't last very long, but on the other hand you could buy a second one for the price of replacement parts for some other models. Keep us posted on how it holds up for you!
Thank you Ive been following you’re family channel since my very first homestead You taught me how to make vinegar back in umm 2018? Well because of this video I went ahead and purchased my long awaited non toxic air fryer which I had been searching for because NOW I can make my own oils for flavor aroma and healthier oil for brushing on my foods in the air fryer I purchased the Vevor upon your recommendation and I love it So far I’ve done sunflower seeds and brown flax Can’t wait to try more

I would love to see how the olive oil works out.
This is fantastic.
Thanks for the share

Would this be good for goats straight or fermented please

This is a great help for me just starting on my oil pressing journery. Very well done. Thank you.

Really neat! Looking forward to your other pressings.
Awesome thing to have! Thanks for the link and the video!
In order to make Oilive Oil, u need a different kind of press. This one is only for seed type material.
really enjoyed the information, and the pressing of the seeds to make oil. have a great week end.
Thanks. I was wondering how to make biodiesel to save money. Now I'm planting a lot of safflower.

Great video, thanks! I have this machine...
1. any recommended source to buy bulk sunflower seeds? I am bit hesitant buying the bag marked as bird seed
2. where can I buy safflower seeds thanks.
I have a similar machine and i found that for sunflower, its better to press it cold than hot. Hitting works well with groundnuts or soybeans
im interested in knowing how much oil this machine produce from 1kg sunflower seeds?
That is wonderful! Maybe you can try avocado, sesame, ricebran, mustard, corriander seed, amaranth, the possibilities are endless 😁 Maybe you can grow camelia oleifera tree and make tea seed oil, it's similar to olive oil.

Very economical.

Wold work with coconut? Have you tried yet?
Have not tried that yet, in theory it should work but some things you have to dry in the oven first before processing
The residual can be mixed with corn in a posho mill and make flour no need to give it to chickens
7:01 HOW MUCH GRAM DID YOU TOOK TO GET THAT MUCH OIL?
Where to buy this machine please?and what is the name
Can this be used for other seeds?
Yes

What if you dry out the olives first and then try to get the oil. Just wondering.
I think if you dried or roasted olives or peanuts that might work but I haven’t tried it
As with the sunflowers, you need to choose an oil variety of any grain or bean.
How many seeds / flowers do you need to maintain your cooking oil consumption?
Not sure yet, I am going to get a 50 bag of sunflowers and we will see how long that lasts
This is wonderful. How much does it cost and how can I get one? I am in Kenya

Please what is sawer seed

Would it do avocado oil? Or corn? Very cool! Texas Deb ❤️
I will try corn!
@@SSLFamilyDad Just a heads up, to make 1 litre of corn oil it takes roughly between 75 and 85lbs of corn depending on variety.
@@SSLFamilyDad I assume you'd have to pre-grind the corn?

some transparency would be helpful. How did you successfully manage to dehull the sunflowers? Don't just show us the finished product
I purchased them dehulled
