Welcome! I lived abroad for many years and finding accommodation in the country where you have never been before can be daunting. If you find other ways to find place to live in, please do comment about them here, hopefully it will be useful to all newcomers too.
Good info for sure, it's appreciated a lot !!! But what about places to stay for new people moving in to work and live there ?? I mean, like a single bedroom appartment, are there any sectors in the city(I'm a Canadian citizen who speaks fluently both French and English only) for foreign workers to get settled up and work ?? I won't have a car so I'll have to use public transportation and It's not for tomorrow though........just getting in touch on what Latvia has to offer. Thank you in advance Miss. Ciau !
Čau, čau! In Latvia, as in lot of other countries much depends on your money. Your settlement here will depend on your work experience. If you have your own business or you are self employed and you can live on your money from your own income then awesome, if not, you might struggle here. For most of work you will need fluent Latvian and Russian language and really it takes time to learn them. At least a year for each. Some people find job just knowing English, but it would be something like Bolt or Wolt drive or places where you don't need to speak to customers.
Can't comment on where to live untill you won't know where you will work and how much you will get. Riga doesn't have sectors, but have regions. They are called different names. As its a small city, you can get to center from nearly everywhere max in 40min by public transport. If you live and work in center then you can walk it.

Its super cheap (right now its 30€ for a whole month) to use public transport. Also we got bike roads and they are great if you do cycle.
