Discovering the concept of high sensitivity and learning you are a Highly Sensitive Person can be a major life moment for some people.
    It was for me!
Now that I've been living with this knowledge for a few years (and learning more all the time!), I reflected in this episode on some positive realizations I've had about myself since learning I'm an HSP.
Making this list felt really good; I hope it may serve as a prompt to consider your own experiences. How has your life changed since learning about HSPs?

You're so cute! I get great joy from flowers and trees also. I imagine myself painting trees and flowers all the time-maybe I should actually start doing it! I walk my dog every day and I take a special detour to specifically go to a beautiful rose bush I found accidentally, to smell and adore the gorgeous blooms. I take deep breaths and feel revitalized afterwards. I touch all the leaves of the trees that I pass. I had no idea this had anything to do with my high sensitivity! Which I only discovered a year ago (from a new fellow vegan friend, who pointed it out immediately! lol ) You're doing us a great service with this podcast. Much love to you💖

me too! I go out of the way to pick a handful of really unusual flowers (usually the teensy hidden ones) and make tiny flower arrangements. It's a temporary form of 'art'.

I learnt that I was a hsp about 2 weeks ago and almost everything in this vid relates to me, it's crazy. That moment I realized I had this personality trait made it so much eaiser for me to accept and love myself as well as feeling liberated from this idea that I'm a weirdo and everyone else is normal. I'm seeing now that everyone is weird in their own way, it's just a matter of if it hurts themselves or others. My entire life started to make so much sense after learning this and I see it as a blessing with negatives that I am able to manage.

After 5 years of getting into meditation and energy healing, I've made a lot of progress. Self-love was the most challenging and I still struggle a bit when I'm in a stressful situation. Anyhow, these vids are great. I always knew that I was highly sensitive, but it wasn't until someone special to me mentioned my sensitivity, that I began researching about it. Btw, I take a lot of nature photos to.

Hi, I know it's been 4 years since you posted your comment but if you reading this comment can you tell what kind of meditations helped you?

I have recently found your podcast and I find it so fascinating. I really feel like so much of what you discuss resonates so much with who I am. So often I hear what you say and I flash to my childhood or something last week. When I think of my own story it is one of self doubt and questioning my intuition due to me thinking I'm being judgemental. I am so into comprehensive accuracy that it can seem OCD at times, but it's just because I'm so sensitive to nuance that I'm aware of the complexity of even everyday circumstances. I'm so thankful to hear of your personal accounts and realize that I am not alone. It is very difficult being a man in this culture and being highly sensitive. I have never felt like I've fit, I've always felt like a misfit who is highly capable of modifying my behavior and code switching to hide in plain sight. Once again, thank you and have a great day :)

Thank you for your videos I appreciate it. 😊💖🙇 I have realized a lot actually. I realized I'm not only hsp but also abused by narcissistic parents and stuck with cptsd syndromes along with codependency. The more I heal from those issues the more my hsp traits make my life joyful rather than painful for feeling everything but mostly fear and shameful situations for everyone and myself most of the time.

Thank you for this video! I haven't found out yet how I can deal with the overwhelming feelings that sometimes come with being an hsp, but these kinds of video's really help. Especially the second realization is something I never even thought about. And I'm just so glad to hear that I'm not the only one who feels those things sometimes, that I'm just an hsp and that it's not abnormal. And I'm also happy to know that I'm not the only one who likes to look at flowers and take pictures of them :'D

For me, it's all about energy management. If I don't manage my energy efficiently, I will develop negative health consequences. I can be available for about a third of the time that most relationships require. Those who demand more from me than that sometimes become bitter and resentful. There are a few exceptions, where I will actually experience a reviving of energy when I'm with that person, much like time spent in nature or in a library.

Trusting one's own intuition was a turning point esp in finally able to see thru the narcissisticslly inclined or less than genuine friends. Who definitely have their own life challenges like family etc. Like everything else we learn. Ultimately to sieve the grain from the chaff.
