Schubert’s 5th Symphony is the perfect vehicle for this orchestra who bring all the lightness and deftness this joyful work requires. Videnoff sets a brisk pace, but always allows enough flexibility to allow the lyricism to shine through. Glowing Schubert.

Ich weiß nicht, ob der Konzertsaal eine hervorragende Akustik hat oder ob es einen Tontechniker mit ausgezeichnetem Gehör gab, aber das klang fantastisch. Wie schön, dass Musiker und Dirigent mit sehr guten Tonaufnahmen und -wiedergaben gesegnet sind.
Ich liebte das Andante. Die Streicher und Holzbläser führten ein neckisches Gespräch, das so gut floss. Der Abschluss mit den beiden Waldhörnern war brillant! Das Menuett brachte so viele wunderbare Klangfarben hervor und bot ein echtes Abenteuer für unsere Ohren. Das abschließende Allegro kribbelte prickelnd. Was für eine Aufführung. Vielen Dank fürs Teilen auf TH-cam!
I don't know if the concert hall has excellent acoustic, or if there was a recording engineer with an excellent ear, but this sounded fantastic. How lovely that musicians and conductor are blessed with very good sound recording and reproduction.
I loved the Andante. The strings and woodwind had a teasing conversation that flowed so well. The closing with the two French Horns was brilliant! The Minuet produced so many wonderful tonal colours providing a real adventure for our ears. The final Allegro tingled effervescently. What a performance. Thank you so much for sharing on TH-cam!
