This has been long overdue. I hope more news agencies in Korea do more interviews with them. Our boys need to practice speaking English more, though, coz I feel there will be more interviews coming from the international media in the near future as they gain more traction in the Philippines and on social media.

I think they're quite good in speaking english, they don't need to be super fluent, as long as they can express what they want to say during interviews. I think it's cute that they sometimes grasp for words, it makes the conversation more natural and not robotic.

Actually, in the music industry in the PH, how you look is not as important as how musically talented/gifted you are - be it in songwriting, composing, singing, rapping, playing instruments, etc. - as it should be!
Josh is an Army and was a part of a known filipino cover group of BTS. I met him back in 2014 in a Choreography workshop with Mr. Son of Bighit (Yes, BTS' choreographer) a day before BTS' concert.
I watched Se eon performed in a kpop event before, thats why Josh and stell was very familiar to me. Seon was so lucky, they got to meet BTS and had selfies with them.
These networks are not that familiar with how Korean Entertainment agencies work. At least with ShowBT starting this here, we can all look forward to more idol groups and artists in the future who are trained intesively before debut.

I definitely agree to this, but..as a Filipino, we need to learn both languages. Nowadays, as well, there are rich kids raised in the Philippines who can't speak Filipino and only know English which is quite disappointing. Both languages need to be practiced. As for the boys, they are not bad...they are actually quite good, better than most actually..
Learning English shouldn't be a "need" especially if you don't patronize the mother tongue. Learning other languages like English is an option/elective to make you internationally competitive but definitely not a "need". Now, if you plan and choose to learn a language better work on it (especially on grammar and pronunciation) and practice a lot.

There are actually a few idol groups here in the Philippines. They are the first to be trained using the Korean style of training. Because here if you are handsome or beautiful you can debut even without proper training.

But they are also hated by some because they are a "Kpop group" and not a Filipino boy group. Yes both their stories are very inspirational, it's just that here in the Philippines, pop groups are not really that mainstream compared to Korea where KPop is a billion-dollar industry. I understood Josh when he said that what they're doing is new here and the time required for training pop groups the Korean way is not something that families here will encourage, while in Korea, parents groom their kids to be KPop or Hallyu stars by encouraging them to participate in workshops and auditions. Although our country is very westernized, our values here are very hispanic, most parents will say that performing does not pay the bills or put food on the table, it's more like "finish your studies and get a career".

Actually, in the music industry in the PH, how you look is not as important as how musically talented/gifted you are - be it in songwriting, composing, singing, rapping, playing instruments, etc. - as it should be!
Josh is an Army and was a part of a known filipino cover group of BTS. I met him back in 2014 in a Choreography workshop with Mr. Son of Bighit (Yes, BTS' choreographer) a day before BTS' concert.
Both Josh and Stell were part of Eon back then and are Army's.

I watched Se eon performed in a kpop event before, thats why Josh and stell was very familiar to me. Seon was so lucky, they got to meet BTS and had selfies with them.
They are the most popular group right now ..I don't care what the fans of those two largest networks will say. We're here to support SB19.
These networks are not that familiar with how Korean Entertainment agencies work. At least with ShowBT starting this here, we can all look forward to more idol groups and artists in the future who are trained intesively before debut.

I definitely agree to this, but..as a Filipino, we need to learn both languages. Nowadays, as well, there are rich kids raised in the Philippines who can't speak Filipino and only know English which is quite disappointing. Both languages need to be practiced.
As for the boys, they are not bad...they are actually quite good, better than most actually..
Learning English shouldn't be a "need" especially if you don't patronize the mother tongue. Learning other languages like English is an option/elective to make you internationally competitive but definitely not a "need". Now, if you plan and choose to learn a language better work on it (especially on grammar and pronunciation) and practice a lot.

There are actually a few idol groups here in the Philippines. They are the first to be trained using the Korean style of training. Because here if you are handsome or beautiful you can debut even without proper training.

If Korea has a reversal group NU'EST by their song "Hello", in the Philippines, they got SB19 which the reversal song is "Go Up". Thank you for not giving up. Let's only walk on flowery road. Yes both their stories are very inspirational, it's just that here in the Philippines, pop groups are not really that mainstream compared to Korea where KPop is a billion-dollar industry. I understood Josh when he said that what they're doing is new here and the time required for training pop groups the Korean way is not something that families here will encourage, while in Korea, parents groom their kids to be KPop or Hallyu stars by encouraging them to participate in workshops and auditions. Although our country is very westernized, our values here are very hispanic, most parents will say that performing does not pay the bills or put food on the table, it's more like "finish your studies and get a career".

Mostly Korean parents want their kids to have realistic and sometimes high paying jobs. I believe that traditional kind of mindset is in every Asian countries ever.
