SB19 talks 'WYAT', touring the U.S. and what their success means for the Filipino culture
ABOUT: SB19 has become an international sensation and has made history becoming the first and only Filipino act to enter Billboard's Next Big Sound Chart, Billboard's Emerging Artists Chart (top 5), Billboard's Social 50 Chart (peaked at No.2), and be nominated at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. In addition to multiple awards under their belt, like "Song of the Year","Artist of the Year", and "Best New Artist" at the 2020 MYX Music Awards, MTV U.S. revealed that SB19 was the Most Requested Artist of the year 2020. Earlier this year, it was reported by Billboard that the P-Pop group's "Bazinga" surpassed BTS' "Butter" for most weeks spent at No.1 on the Hot Trending Songs Chart.

he and Josh, the 2 oldest boys, both worked in a BPOs (call centers) that's why they are more comfortable and more confident speaking and conversing with different hosts and emcees talking in English. add the fact that they prob had more diverse, life changing experiences and BPO training that honed their skills too. it's diff when you just learn it in elem, high school or college where it's more Taglish and only straight English when your write or defend a term paper or your thesis as against to applying it in your everyday life. now that the boys all have intl experience talking in English, not TagLish, they will be more comfortable and more confident in their interviews

Next, a PPop boy group who have already joined a concert on Middle East.
Finally, the first Filipino act to have a concert tour in USA and other countries worldwide.

They are not the First Filipinos to have a concert tour in the USA. There was a Filipino that is very popular who had recently a US Tour Concert this summer his name was Marcelito, former runner up winner of AGT.

" He used "first Filipino act" instead of "First Filipino PPOP" and failed to mention which year because if we are talking about First Filipino Act rendered concert in the USA for 2022, is Olivia Rodrigo, for a full breed Filipino act it would be Marcelito Pomoy, a Filipino in a boyband that first did the concert and in the whole USA year 2022, world wide will be Bruno Mars. So Shut Up!
*with this world tour, it's very clear that the members of SB19 are pushing their Filipino identity to the forefront of who they are and how the global audiences will see/see them through their music, their performances, their MVs, their interviews, their vlogs etc. and it's nice to note that the songs they offer (gitz/pagsibol) are also successful in balancing their Filipino pride with a willingness to incorporate music styles from other parts of the globe. because yk cultural isolationism is not the way to go and genre-hopping is a definite plus. thank you buzz for having SB19.*

I don't want to sound arrogant, but SB19 earned the right to be interviewed and featured by the Western media because they have so many achievements under their belt, especially their Billboard records. I've seen fans of other Ppop groups downplaying SB19's exposure in the US on social media. Little do they know that these milestones of the group will have a ripple effect someday and bring Ppop to the global music scene.

Wow, to think that they're way above other PPOP groups and standing shoulder to shoulder with the global music artists and still subjecting themselves to vocal workshops and what have you, for them to be better again, speaks volume of how passionate they are for their craft so they can always deliver the best.
dont want to sound bragging but one of our mahalima's advantage to other international groups is that they can communicate well with their interviewer. and i love that they all talk on their interviews 👍💙

I was smiling the entire interview! Looking at them feels like an overwhelming feeling of passion, love of craft and happiness because of their amazing journey specially snce they came to New York! I can still remember when Josh said, You will go places if you step your feet in NEW YORK CITY and this is exactly what has been going on and so far I'm so grateful because they deserve the success nd were they are right now!
