We've come quite a bit on the journey to a forgeworld titan. This week, we were offered a titan.... but...

Not just the goblin heraldry but the heraldry of each army involved with the trade. You could do them as kill on a banner hanging from the titans weapons.

People trading warhammer with me: "It costs this much Retail so that's what I want for it plus shipping. It's not broken, it's battle damage- I should honestly be charging extra for that. Price is firm, I know what I have"
I think you need to add the word ''charity'' to these conversations when trading.
Ex: I know the price of the retail but this is for charity...
and if that doesn't work fall back on the classic: THINK OF THE (EMPEROR'S) CHILDREN!

Seems like a good opportunity for a follow-up: try doing trades anonymously to compare and contrast the experiences.

Your best bet to actually get a warlord as a trade would probably be to paint the Idoneth army yourself to a great standard and then trade the army and warhound titan for the warlord. Idoneth Deepkin is a pretty safe bet right now since they got massive buffs in their new tome. After you paint the idoneth army it's actually gonna be a lot more valuable than an unpainted Warlord titan would be but you know,trading is never accurate when it comes to what everything is worth.
There are bunch of people who bought a warlord,didn't realize just how insane of an effort it is to actually put together and gave up on assembly. People like that would probably be more than happy to trade an expensive pile of shame for a well painted and playable army.
I don't think he plans on doing anything with the stuff he trades for, just trading stuff as is
You're right about how many people bought the Warlord Titan and didn't even start assembly because they're intimidated by its complexity. I know a bloke whose had one in his garage, untouched for about 4 months. He offered to sell it to me for £700 but I only started painting May 2021 with the biggest model I attempted being Konrad Curze from Forgeworld, I'm not a fan of resin so I said no to the Titan but he offered me a special price because we are mates, he won't offer it to anyone else for that price so I doubt he will sell it, I might go back and buy it in 6 months or so, when I'm more confident. Who doesn't want the big boy Titan!
The turning point of the speed of the project was when you announced it to thousands of people instead of doing it in secret. Who’d’ve thunk it. Lol
I've seen him post in a Swedish facebook group for trading/selling/buying figurines, so yeah might be why lol
Video idea: Paint a model to the best of your ability using a limited number of your most neglected, under used paint colours.
I think we're all guilty of having our go-to comfort colours instead of experimenting!
Seriously think Emil could get some amazing upwards trades if he painted some of the minis. I'm sure there are tons of people out there who would gladly give him some amazing swaps just to get a mini painted by him.
yep i guess the same and also would be for this ppl somethink special no just crapy model [ i understand that all is for charity but give this ppl somethink what dont cost a lot but have high sentimental value would be preaty nice] but mayby someday
Well I think that even if it sells more, if he paints models that isn't really it coming from the original model, unless of course he got the paints in a trade
I would love to see a series like this, but where each person actually can gain value. Right now, especially at the beginning, you kind of rely on the charity of someone to give you a model that is worth more, which is fine, it is a challenge for charity, but it would be really cool to see a series where you take a really cheap model, paint it up nicely, and then trade it for some unpainted and/or unbuilt minis, then take those minis, build and paint them, and trade them for even more unpainted and/or unbuilt minis. There are plenty of people who would feel like they actually got something out of the trade if they have something in their pile of shame they don't feel like they are going to actually paint and they can trade for a really cool mini, even if its worth significantly less.
The paint jobs on the big three (Nagash, Archaon and gargant) were amazing! I simply had to comment to compliment the painter!

I'm sure these exist, but as a Warhammer fan who has a ton of old models, and as a toy collector and customizer, I'd love to hold a monthly swap meet where people can trade stuff. We all have so much plastic! lol

I’d love to see you repaint the minis before trading. I’m sure that would help increase interest from potential traders
What would make this better is if you painted them and then trading up giving value to the people for giving a more expensive mini
It also would have escalated exponentially, causing there to be *far* less shipping needed in the end. Would have been done already, as far as number of trades, though the time between trades would have been longer. That painted goblin alone would have gotten him a squad of other models right off the bat.
It's a really cool idea. But i kind of wish you guys completed the whole trading process prior to uploading the videos, as it'd make the process more natural overall.
A tracking of the overall estimated value of the traded pieces would be great. Either in a recap at the end of throughout the whole video!

Maybe I am missing the point but it sure seems like you could have done this in far less steps by just painting the miniatures you are trading. You would get content for the channel and a mini painted by Squidmar in a video could easily go for 5-10 times its retail price.
The idea is that anyone could do it without painting skills but then it was ruined after the first video. Of course people are gonna be just handing over great unclean ones to get in the video.
@@em3sis Literally all of these "trading up" videos suffer from this. People tend to just hand you stuff if they can get thier 5 and a half seconds of fame in a YT video
Because that would be hours and hours of unpaid labour.
@@jamesflames6987 lolol. As opposed to the other hours he spends creating content for the channel that is "unpaid labor?" Or the fact if he took a $5 model, painted it and the traded it for a $150 model painted it and traded it for a $1000 model? Try again buddy.
@@danbdun910 Yes. The hours he spends creating content for this channel is remunerated by ad revenue. Painting those big models or armies would take days or weeks and in return he would only get the Titan faster and so have LESS content for the channel.
A warhound titan for 3x knights is literally insane.... Knights go for like 50 bucks on ebay a titan is so much more
Its also a lot easier to field knights in a regular game of 40k. A lot of people like doing big projects, but dont really have the space for it afterwards. This guy could be like that
@@mastersimmons9001 that was my thought yeah. 3 knights is nearly a full field able army, and you don't get to field a warhound almost ever. Even in apocalypse where is belongs it is a lot
i think painting the unpainted, badly painted or damaged models for a little "boost" could help
It would be fun to see you do a challenge with a few painters, where you each pick a child's toy and paint it to a high level. Could be fun! Lego guy? Jiggly dinosaur? Old turtles action figure maybe? I thought about this when I saw a video where a professional artist coloured a children's colouring book to a very high level, and kind of wonder what I could do to improve some toys that are just spray painted with two colours or something.
He gave away tha T'au promo model GW gave him. I bet that's making some heads at national office explode XD

If I tried this, as a regular hobbyist not a popular youtuber, I wouldn't get very far. Getting a great unclean one for a carnifex is unrealistic.
When I initially watched the first video, I was skeptical. After this one, I am fully invested!
Although I play middle Earth, and not Warhammer, your vids always captivate me, especially this series. maybe one day I'll try wh40k

Love your video. with trading and secon hand buying and selling i managed to get around 9000 points between tau and marines for around a 100€. I was confident in the trade for the warlord idea but never thought you will make progress soo quick.

I had to rewatch it, i think there's a misunderstanding there. I was talking about a full on tyrranid army, that guy was in the UK and the lumineth stuff was seperate (even if it might have been a little unclear) :D
You could simply paint the minis you got and then trade them. I am sure that would work much better even
You should paint the unpainted Models like the knights. We have seen you and Lukas doing so on the Channel in just a few hours. That should increase the Value a lot i think?

Love the series. It's been fun to watch thus far. I do have a question. Did you actually trade the carni? for the Great Unclean one? I only ask because the foundation of the project changed from "Night goblin to Titan" to "GUO to titan", as you started over with the GUO donation.
We traded the carnifex for the great unclean one yes, most of the people we've traded with have had these minis unbuilt for years and years and havent gotten to selling them and see these trades as easy fixes to get what they want :) for some reason warhammer people by more than they need ;)
After the first video, there was no way this was going to be realistic. Surprised someone didnt trade a whole army for the ugly Tyranid just to have a chance to be in the video.
@Dustin Gore that is exactly right, I have three finished GUO:s, one from forgeworld,all painted up, and did not need this one at all. In fact I bought the Three GW ones in a 3 for 2 deal and was going to make a tricefold befoulment out of them but when I got my hands on the forgeworld Model for my third this one got stuffed in the pile o shame. Sure, its fun to take part in this as a bonus too of course., but it did not have musch value for me Other than selling or trading.

Maybe if there's another round of this experiment, you could see if the incentive of you guys painting the minis before the trade makes a difference in how willing people are to trade. Although it doesn't really sound like it was all that difficult to begin with since people are happy to help out for a charitable cause. This is a fun idea, but how much does the shipping cost for all of these minis you keep uptrading?
I wonder how feasible it would be for a talented painter to do a similar thing by buying an unpainted mini, then painting and selling it, then using that money to buy another and repeat.
Surely at a certain point you need to be working backwards and find a guy who has a warlord and work out what they need in order to trade it? otherwise you could quite quickly have all the value of the titan but no1 who wants your models as a trade for it.
My guess is that will happen soon 😅

@@lI-tm2pn obviously not, and why should it? Absolutely no reason for that to be the case when there's already a substantial amount being raised for charity. Good on Emil for doing this, it's a win-win-win for him/us/charity.
I love the Warhound Titan and want one for my Death Guard Army. But it is too expensive and I don't have anything to trade for it. The only Forgeworld Stuff I own is nine Ripper Swarms, a Malanthrope and a Barbed Hierodule...
