    Thank you so much for the point about the telescopic seat post and the extra stress when using it at maximum height in the seat tube.
    I use one because of how tall am, but there's quite a bit of spare before the safe insertion limit, so I've decided to use a small length of the height adjuster sleeve to drop the main post down, and raise the telescopic inner part with the seat clamp to the equivalent height of the 3 OR 4 sections of adjuster sleeve I'll be using, thus alleviating that stress you mention.

    Another advantage of the telescopic seat post is that it reduces the folded size compared to the extended seat post, which means that it will fit into a bag, and in tighter spaces on trains etc.

      I swapped out my Schwalbe Marathons a couple of months ago after getting several punctures. The Continentals have been great so far. They definitely feel faster and give more grip than the Schwalbe's in my opinion, I didn't have any slips even with the icy roads over winter. I keep them at around 90PSI. As for durability it's hard to say. They feel like they'll be more puncture resistant than the standard Marathons but I don't know how they'd compare to the Marathon Plus. I haven't had any problems so far and that's with regular riding on bumpy Edinburgh roads.

  • @dougwedel9484
    @dougwedel9484 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Someone will come up with a way to pack batteries in the handlebar post and the top tube. Together, they look like enough space to have the same amount of power as the pack they use now. Plus, two batteries charging separately ought to charge faster than one large battery. For some reason I get the feeling Brompton won't do this, it will be another aftermarket product.

    @Luuk_M ปีที่แล้ว

    The statement at 4:32 that NOT hoisting the seat post up to the max (while extending the extension further to achieve the same seat height!!) reduces stress in the frame cannot be correct. The seat post is guided by a glued plastic insert in the frame, approximately 50 mm long. Beneath this insert the seat post does not make contact with the frame. Whether you extend your seat post to the max or not, it is always the length of this insert that transfer the forces of you body weight to the frame, never more than these 50 mm.
