This song always gets me, it’s lyrically beautiful and groovy tom part. It was an honor to be the first to record this song live. At rehearsal Jamie (guitarist/producer) wanted to change the Tom parts to be more active during the intro and verses. These parts were fun to create and add to the already great parts from the studio recording. The spontaneous moment was just incredible, Meredith came up with the lyric and melody line on the spot and we ran with it. Just extremely powerful and one of the moments I’ll never forget. Great video, it’s much harder to play less and leave room to keep building up, and support the band while giving the space. It sounds so much stronger the way you played. A less experienced drummer would over play and run out of room to build when WL kept repeating in songs like this.
Your videos are very good man, I would love to check you guys out sometimes in person, and I love how you have a band leader/communicator that constantly gives directions, like those rally car co-drivers lol, definitely a luxury to have. 😆
