I love watching videos when people just be themselves instead of acting like they are doing a darn commercial, this is my first time watching you and i will continue .thank you for sharing
Omgoodness!!! I laughed so hard. I was screaming, "3 minutes!!" 😂😂😂 I love your tutorial. It's the first one I clicked on to learn how to sublimate my mugs. I'm subscribing! Lol.
I understand because I forgot my PIN number today at Walgreens lol I came home called my bank then my daughter she said my ex knew lmbo literally she told me my hint and I died laughing because it’s been the same for 10 yrs brain cramps 😂
OMG… you made my day with this hilarious video I just watched😁Loved it, thxs! Love the design on the mug. You never have enough mugs right… they are always in the dishwasher overhere when I need one😉
🤣 I'm cracking up!!! The math... Bob is in for a surprise with mugs and tumblers! Thanks for all your videos though! Helps alot! I've made 8 mugs already, trial and error has my cabinets stocked 😆
@@SilhouetteSchool hey you got the message across. That’s what matters! I’ve gone through 8 mugs out of 36 trying to get it right. I think I need to adjust my pressure now and I’ll be good! That’s the plan for tonight !
I have a question: I did a small design in the middle of the mug. After pressing it, the heat tape left permanent marks on the mug, right around the design which was taped. Used 400 for 4 minutes. Too much pressure, heat, time? Thanks!
I have had the tape I got from Swing bleed onto the mug on several occasions. Instead of taping on the mug, I take a piece of butcher paper and size it so it goes around and thru the handle then i tape the heck out of it around the mug without putting any tape directly on the mug. I also wrap parchment around the entire mug and tape tight to prevent the ink from escaping into my press. No ghosting or bleeds so far and no more tape transfers either.
Hi, we're really enjoying your videos. Perhaps you can help with a sublimation issue. We're trying to sublimate a mug with a tartan design that has some dark colors, but it comes out way too dark on the mugs. About to try some color correction in Photoshop, but we really don't want to waste numerous mugs. Any ideas?
Hey there! It's hard to troubleshoot here. If your black is turning more brown, this would mean you have it too hot or are pressing too long (maybe both). Please feel free to drop us an email: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/blog-page_9.html with additional details such as what kind of Sublimation printer you're using and pictures of what is happening. Or! If you'd like extra help - like in-depth video tutorials or 1:1 help via email or chat for your projects - please consider joining Silhouette U (www.silhouetteu.com). We hope to see you soon!
I added the tape the same way on my 11oz and the the top and everything looks good colors look great but I still got ghosting on the bottom… I added more pressure but that didn’t help much … I did 385f for 190 secs … I’m thinking I need to add tape to the bottom too.
When I created the template for the full wrap I just put a rainbow image over top and filled it with white knowing that area would not print and this is the result
Do you have any video explaining everything from materials kind of paper printer etc? I'm just starting with a mug business and I have no idea. Doing a lot of research. Thank you
I have several sublimation printers. You can learn more about all of them here www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/everything-to-know-about-sublimation_9.html
Hey Melissa, I really enjoy your videos first of all. I have a question. I thought i posted it but don't see it. Anyway I have the stand alone mug press from swing design. It does not tighten enough for the 20 ounce skinny tumbler. I notice on the sight that it says 2.95 and the tumblers are not that wide (diameter). So am i out of luck with the stand alone? I'm confused. Thank you.
Hey there! Check out this blog post to make sure you're using the attachment you need: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/05/best-mug-press-machine-with-attachments.html (the stand alone mug press and the 8-in-1 are the same).
@@SilhouetteSchool thank you for your reply! I have the basic with no attachments but if i'm understanding it should still do a 20 ounce skinny? it is not tight at all on even the most pressure.
OMG! you are so hilarious, I love you!!!! so look I'm not good at math either. I can add multiply and divide my money thats about it lolol. I was rolling when you started like help me out!!!. Your awesome. Stay real!!!! you got this. And I loved this video as always
Hah thanks. What happened was I did a mug right before I got on camera as a test. When I set the 180 seconds on my heat press, the timer didn't start. I didn't realize fora bout a minute so I set 2 minutes on my phone to finish out the 3 minutes. But then when I went live on the video and said 180 out loud I got confused b/c I looked at my phone which had the timer pre-set to 2 minutes which I knew wasn't right but then I started questioning..well everything. It was all downhill from there.
I have a cognitive issue and can’t do math so I believed you when you said it was two minutes, then started laughing when I realized 2 minutes is 120 seconds 😂

Is that only a normal paper with normal prints? Or sticker paper? What kind of paper is that? Haha but your video has a lot of cracked, so funny. Hahaha

This could be due to excessive pressure or heat, low-quality tape or mugs, improper tape placement, or rushing the removal process.
Hi dont you need to preheat the mug first?
Everytime when i insert my mug the temperature drops

What size do you use for the w and h?
It depends on the mug, you'll want to measure

What are the template dimensions that you are using for you 11 oz mug, I don't like too much dead space.
I used these: sofontsy.com/products/blue-mug-sublimation
A question for the other mug you did, how did you get the arches on the mug not to print?
They are "white" in the design.
Lawd you had my anxiety on 💯

Would you recommend the cricut cup heat thingy?
It works fine..I just prefer something that gives me more options like a 4 in 1 mug press or 7 in 1 tumbler press. shrsl.com/3tqex

3 minutes on what temp?

What was the temp you used
This should help! It's all written in here www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2018/04/how-to-sublimate-onto-ceramic-mugs.html

180 sec but what temp please
Hey there! I would check the instructions that came with the mugs you got for optimal results.
Temp is temperature
Can you use dollar tree mugs ?
You need a specialty coated mug for Sublimation.
Mine come out bad color way to light need time or pressure
I’d definitely check pressure and temperature.
Haha I died 180 times divided by 80. Your husband won the wives lottery 😂😂
Hahah thanks :)
Whew, I'm exhausted. Lol
60 seconds = one minute
60 minutes = one hour
180 seconds = three minutes
