3 out of 5 of those picks weren’t his fault. Jamo darted off the route. Pre half hail mary (that was almost a guaranteed INT). And Laporta effed up on one of em. I think the Texans had a great defensive game plan and some times (once in a blue moon) Ben Johnson gets flustered when his offense isnt working. People claim Goff needs everything to be perfect, but the same could be said for Ben Johnson. Both of them are great imo, but they will have a stinker once or twice a year. Hell, even our elite O-line and Penei Sewell were getting worked in the first half. That was not all on Goff.
Why would Campbell pull out Goff? Three of those INTs were in the first half. The next two were seven minutes into the 3rd. Lions could still move the ball (albeit not as easy) but still managed to get the score to 20-23 by the start of the 4th quarter. Adjustments were made at least in the 2nd half and given how much the Texans rely heavily on Stroud for their offense, they weren't going to keep scoring if they couldn't finish drives.
Yes that kick was insane. If it was kicked like that from 5 yards closer, it might have been higher than the top of the post. Imagine having to officiate that! 😮
Let's not get carried away because they beat the Houston Texans on the last play of the game.. Okay? Sure, the Detroit Lions have improved TREMENDOUSLY compared to most of their teams from the past.. Remember, the last time the Lions won the NFL Championship was 1957 (when the league had 12 teams) ----- which was 67 years ago.. Since then, they've won 4 Division Titles, but nothing more.. If they can win the NFC Championship game + the Super Bowl ----- THEN you can call them champions.. But until that day comes ----- they're just another team trying to get to the "Promise Land" like everybody else..
Lion fans are starting to get rather annoying and cocky hopefully this game humbled your fan base a bit. I doubt it, you poor souls been repressed too long. You have a great team and awesome coach.
Steeler fan here and the Lions are my 2nd team bc of Jerome Bettis hometown. It's where we won the SB and Bettis then retired. He fumbled at the end but Big Ben pulled off a shoestring tackle and we held on to win. Also Barry Sanders was a great player who deserved a ring but NVR got one. Itd be great if Lions go to big game and Sanders cld suit up, go out on field for one play and possibly get that ring. He's one of the greatest to ever do it. Anyway Lions are a great team and if not the Steelers then the Lions to take it all.
Did anyone else feel like, that even though the Texans played out of their minds the first half... You just knew the Lions were going to get back into it... That's a crazy feeling... Knowing the Lions inspire so much confidence, that neither they nor their fans panic...😅
It has been done several times by really great QBs. Unitas, Romo, Matt Ryan, and Matt Stafford and now Goff, all have won a game after throwing 5 picks.

Crazy and amazing stat line there. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
So kinda, a bit like Mahomes being down 10 or More in the First halve eh ?

No he’s not - recall the Rams vs Bears game in 2018. He threw 4 interceptions and lost 15-6.
I like where your head is at.
Arizona-1st Place in NFC West, Detroit win at their place
Minnesota was undefeated in 1st Place - Detroit won in their place
Green Bay was fighting for first place, Detroit dominated them in their place .
Houston is in 1st Place in the AFC South and Detroit won at their place
Seattle was undefeated, Detroit dominated their defense
Dallas got beat down in their place .
Detroit has dominated on the road this season.
The Lions needed literally every inch that they gained on the last drive for that finale.
My God, I love those kinds of games.
Jared Goff is the first quarterback to propel a team to a comeback victory after throwing five interceptions and after trailing by 15+ points since Johnny Unitas in 1970!
I'm still asking myself "How in the world did they win that game?" Just glad they did.
I always preferred Johnny Unitas to Donald Dividas.
Goff was awful, reminded me of Scott Mitchell scared pansy!
…why do I feel like the Lions purposefully did it for the drama…😂
@@thebottles2667 underrated 🤣

Up 23-7 at halftime, defense snagged 5 interceptions, but the offense gets shutout in the second half and they lose on a game winning field goal that *barely* makes it. This game is a fever dream man.
Well it was functionally 4
This is just a great game for the ages

All of them are so mentally strong. 💪🏽
tbh, I can't tell this is Texans' home game by hearing the the cheers of the live audience, so proud of this Detroit lions! and thanks to both teams for putting on such spectacular match
Hardcore Seahawks fan since 1983. So of course I love the underdog. Which is why I always root for Detroit unless they play my Hawks. Very glad to see them have the season they are having. The team and the city deserve a championship.

@jasonsheath3294 thanks for the support. We needed it for years.

Steelers fan to all Lions fans out there. I'm loving your team so much these last few years. I'm so proud of you all. Keep posting W's every week!!! I'm cheering for you every Sunday and i want you to get that Lombardi! From the heart of Steelers nation, let's go Lions!!!

I'll be pulling for my team, but if they don't make it, I'd luv to see a Detroit/Buffalo or a Minny/Buffalo Super Bowl - the reason being that these teams hold no NFL Titles since the freaking 50's! Detroit got gifted the win by yet another abysmal no-call by the league.
Forgot to mention the missed PI call they were gifted.
As a GBP fan from DC across the lake in WI, very proud of the Lions for competing with passion! Good for all of you!
Shoutout to goff that man is unbelievable even in his darkest days he still ate!!
Lol. I'm glad the Lions won but c'mon, they won _despite_ Goff. Goff was lucky his teammates stepped up and made some big plays.
@@Brendan-BlackReally, only the last 2 picks were completely his fault. Still threw a lot of dirt balls for some reason

1. This was the first-ever Lions road win against the Texans
2. This was the first Lions win against the Texans since 2004
3. This was the first Lions win at Houston since 1995

@@JoePackJoeNCWhy is Derrick stingley not playing like a elite corner ? Looks like Trent McDuffie is better than him and sauce Gardner from that draft class 2 years ago ......
@@t4d0W Those 3 first half INTs were two tipped balls and one hail mary. Nothing to see here.
Nobody mentioning the fact that that kick went through and was near the top of the upright! That would have been long enough for 65+ yards.
Yes that kick was insane. If it was kicked like that from 5 yards closer, it might have been higher than the top of the post. Imagine having to officiate that! 😮
All I can say as a Texans fan is that it was a great game and that we still building this team but good job on the comeback Lions

The Detroit Lions achieve a historic comeback in SNF and their first win against Houston since 2004.

The mark of a champ is the ability to comeback in enemy territory. Once more The Lions show their incredible abilities.
I don't you can gauge them by beating the Texans.
@@RolandoGonzalez-sf9zh How the Texans are 6-3 that was a strong win.
@williamevans7726 You must be a Green Bay Fan!.....lol

@@sethcooper6785Yeah, they do have a Great team. helli would talk stuff, too are you kidding me
Steeler fan here and the Lions are my 2nd team bc of Jerome Bettis hometown.
What's to respect about habitual losers? Win a meaningful game for once in your existence.

What an incredible comeback. I didn’t think it was possible, but they did it.
It’s not that difficult when the opponent doesn’t score one single point in the entire second half

Goff Had a TON of INTs But i LOVE How Freely He Plays QB
The Detroit Lions defense held down the fort. Their grittiness willed the Lions to the win, even though the offense was struggling for most of the game.
The Lions overcame 5 INTs by Goff, and they showed strong collective grit in this win. They definitely needed this to help propel them to bigger things to come later on in the season
2 were deflected balls and 1 was on a hail-mary at the end of the 2nd half. Not a genuine measure of Goff's performance.

The fact the ball kissed the goalpost twice… wow. Truly a game of inches.
So is marriage.........
