Thanks for this, I’ve got my first Border Terrier (& I’m hooked now!) but he doesn’t howl, not that I’m complaining (y’know neighbours etc) but BTs are so cute when they howl, you can actually see their mouths making the O shape, more so when they lift their heads. Love it.
Oh I wish that my border was only this loud. Mine has such volume that my neighbours can hear him at night when he is inside my house. It has become such a problem because at any time of the night he will let-loose. I fear now I will have to get rid of him as I can not control his howls and the neighbours don’t want to have to listen to him at 3 in the morning.
Omg I have exactly the same thing. Just randomly for no reason he will howl. My other half is not impressed as it wakes him then he can’t get back to sleep and so it messes work up the next day. It’s an absolute nightmare!
Ella has occasionally howled in her sleep even when she is on the settee next to us during the evening. There could be so many things setting him off if he dreaming then really I can see what you can do.

Love the chorus when they get started like that. I used to have 2 BT's and a whippet - three different tones, very pretty.

Why are neighbours so intolerant? Some people just like to complain because it makes them feel powerful.
