    You only get this good by experience and it shows here. Every precaution is taken and the proper time for glue to dry. A real professional job. Great to watch. The coil hang is probably the most important information for a recone and the resistor lead he uses to measure the gap once again shows experience. Well done!

    I have a set of Altec 6.5" carbon fiber mids i must recone, Ive only disassembled one driver so far, oddly enough the VC doesnt appear to be burned. So very glad I found this video before I disassembled the other driver though! Thank you so much!

    Great informative video and the reason I say that is because I have to do my Pioneer HPM 150 Midrange and I was wondering how to do it. I have done woofer re-foams on all my HPM's but I have this one blown mid, even though I have replaced it, I want to rebuild it and keep it as a spare. They are so much like the JBL's, your video will help out greatly! Thank you.

    why did you stick the dust cap (sphere) with the bulge outward and not as it was from the factory on the original speaker, this can also affect the phase linearity and frequency response?

    • @FelaHughes
      @FelaHughes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have LE5 in my JBL L96 and the bulge is outward so I guess it varies- perhaps from one version to another

      @@FelaHughes the later LE5 midrange drivers used a metal dust cap not inverted with a ferrite magnet.
