    It's nice that you can get that kind of fuel mileage in a Camry. It's a nice option for people for whom an EV won't work and its less expensive than an EV. A very viable alternative.

    I drive a 23 Camry Hybrid LE. Gets 50 mpg and about 38mpg to 45mpg in the winter.
    Paid about $32,000 after a couple add ons ( Heated steering wheel / heated seats and paint protection )
    One of the best purchases I've ever made.
    Super smooth ride, wonderful gas savings and super well built. I'm about 34,000 miles in.
    The 25 Camry looks like a slick upgrade. I LOVE the look. But that's just it. The 25 Camry gets the same MPG as my 23 Camry. That was one of my main reasons I picked it.
    The 25 Camry does the same as my 23 Camry, but wow it looks significantly better. What a beauty!
    There's definitely some other upgrades I like here. But it's not enough to make me trade my car in for this.
    I absolutely LOVE what Toyota did with this. Hybrids are the way to go FOR NOW. ( In my opinion ) until this battery range issue and charging infrastructure gets sorted out.
    I must say tho, if they released this new Camry and it got 60 to 70mpg, I absolutely would trade mine in a heartbeat.
    I could have gotten a Prius to get even better MPG, but the Camry is just more spacious.

    • @MB-jz3uu
      @MB-jz3uu หลายเดือนก่อน

      @whymaniawhy the hatch decreases the structural rigidity. Sedans are fun because of how solid they feel. I almost never carry anything larger than a huge haul from the grocery store. The new prius barely has any added cargo room compared to this, even with its hatchback design because it's so much shorter and especially with the more slopping design. A wagon would be nice, but everyone loves their ground clearance for some reason these day.

    • @whymaniawhy
      @whymaniawhy หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@MB-jz3uu That's 40 year old thinking on the rigidity issue. Plenty of extremely sporty wagons and 4 door hatches out there where nobody is claiming a lack of structural rigidity - see Porsche Panamera. Not that the Camry target market is obsessing over this, LMAO. Good for you for not wanting space. It's hard to escape the conclusion that Toyota wants to push you into one of their crossovers if you want that space. The Prius is a hatch, but has lost a lot of its interior space. The Corolla is available as a hatch - but not if you want the hybrid AWD that isn't the lifted and cladded Corolla Cross.

    Tired of hearing "sedans are dead". By that logic sports cars, coupes, and "compact trucks" died in 2011, minivans in 2018, and no manufacturer should bother making any more.
    Everything is cyclical. Sedans /hatchbacks/ wagons still sell a ton, and that market share percentage has actually increased over the past year. They're cheaper to own and operate than the CUVs and SUVs with the same amount of seats, far better looks and proportions, and have better handling from a lower center of gravity. Objectively better in many ways. In this economy where people are cost conscious all it takes is for people to take a real hard look and realize they don't need to spend a premium on completely unused cargo space, unused seating, towing, and ground clearance.

    Yes! Ford and Chevy made a HUGE mistake by eliminating sedans! I didn't care so much for any GM sedans but owned a 2018 Ford Focus Titanium sedan for a brief period and absolutely LOVED IT! Great audio system, sunroof, keyless entry, automated parking, blind spot alerts in the side mirrors, lane keeping assistance, leather, 18" wheels, heated seats and wheel...it literally was a VERY LUXURIOUS small car and was strangely quick too! The 2.0L Ti-VCT engine was at least a second or more faster to 60 than a friend of mines 2018 Chevy Cruze w/ the 1.4L turbo which surprised me. I couldn't imagine what Ford could have come up with for future sedans being that one I had was so nice! Unfortunately, they decided to stop making sedans as they thought everyone wants a crossover or SUV, neither which interest me at all. I suppose it is what it is.

    To offer up a correction the Malibu is still being produced and Chevy hasn't announced a date to discontinue it. That being said. It might as well get discontinued because it's not like Chevy pays attention to it. If they would update the interior and give it AWD with a couple of different powertrain options sales could pick back up. At least compete with Nissan, Hyundai and Kia. Chevy gave up too much market share to compete against Honda and Toyota.

    So i suppose we can expect 6-7$/gallon prices in the next few years or less.

    not being all new could be a HUGE plus for a buyer looking for a reliable new car. Reusing platforms and parts that they've already had 5 years to refine and fix means fewer things to go wrong. Means more parts are already available on the market for faster, more affordable repairs. This could be one of the most reliable Camry generations in the past few decades.

    Compact and mid-sized sedans are making a come back because of fuel prices and higher insurance. SUV's/Trucks are getting way too expensive to maintain and thus all small to mid-size sedans are going to sell more than SUV's. All other car makers who dropped their sedans are going to be in a world of hurt. Ford, GM, etc.
