Thanks for this tutorial. Most videos on this are sponsored and just show you how to attach it to the tank. It’s my first marine tank and protein slimmer so much appreciated. 👍
Thank you so much! I watched your video a week or so ago, wanted to let it run before I got back to you! But the skimming is working perfectly now, nice tea colour water! Thank you so much
The water level knob isn't a threaded screw. It's full range is covered over a single 360 degree rotation. It makes much more sense once you notice that.
I was trying to adjust the skim using the little nob and it made no difference so I tried it in them middle chamber and found the problem. The chamber that’s meant for the skimmer won’t let it down into the water enough. However it works in the middle chamber so that does make a difference.
I have the same tank and I'am running a InTank basket in both chamber 1 and 2. Not happy with my water clarity and thinking about putting a PS2 in chamber 2 as you did. Where any modifications necessary to the chamber or the skimmer to make it fit or work properly. Seems like chamber 2 currently drops to low to effectively flow through media in current setup on my tank. Running pads, floss and Fluval ceramic media in chamber 1 and Chemi pure blue nano and purigen in chamber 2. Need some advice. Not happy with setup.
Finally a video of someone actually showing how to do this. I've been playing about with it for about four days and now because of your video I can see if I was tuning it properly as I wasn't too sure where the water line should of been. So thanks for this video it helped me out.👌 my evo is in it second week of cycling. Also subbed so I can keep watch of your tanks progress as I enjoy watching tanks grow. Are you gonna be adding any coral in the future?
diddystar 86 yeah I just added a couple corals. Xenia and a branching hammer! I'm glad the video helped! When I bought it I couldn't find a video either. That is why I made one.
Awesome stuff. Is there any chance that you could make a video of you doing a water change? As I'm confused whether to take out from the display or from the return chamber. And where to put water back in. Like do the three chambers fill also as the display fills if that makes any sense. As with my big tank I take from the sump and put back in the sump but these smaller tanks are different with the filter and everything in the back.
Usually pull the water from the display, so I can pull all the garbage off of the sand. I use a turkey baster to blow all the junk off of the rock before sucking out the water as well. If you watch my water change made simple video I use those 2.5 gallon jugs to put water back in my tank. I use the nozzle on them and just add the water to the corner of the display and put a little in the chambers. I then turn the pump on and fill the display the rest of the way. I hope this helps...
I've had my Evo and PS2 for a few days and had no idea how to setup it up, there's no info anywhere even the Fluval video is useless. Thanks for the video.
I have this and it keep making bubbles so like it gets into my tank and so I don’t know how to adjust it, even if I lower it the bubbles will still go up and leaks.
I've just bought this skimmer and soon as i bring my water lever up it leaks water from the water level knob is this normal or have i got a faulty skimmer
Anyone really hate the skimmer? Whenever I use it the flow isn’t even in any of the baskets in the back. Got mine at the end of January, and it died suddenly last week no warning. Still waiting to hear back on if it will be replaced under warranty
@@raul253rmpr same. Ran like that from first week of February to last week of June then stopped working. Because of the way the water flows through the chambers it stopped all slow into my media. Lost everything. Just have fresh water Tetras in a planted tank with shrimp. Waiting to hear back if they’ll replace it under warranty. Lots of bad reviews for this skimmer, hadn’t noticed when I bought it.
The skimmer is ok for the first months but You shouldn't use it once your aquarium is established. Due to the small size of the aquarium. My best success came when I stop using my skimmers on all my nano aquariums.
I’ve had this skimmer for 6 months and thanks to this video today I learned how to properly use it. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing dude, you are the only guy to create a video showing how to do it.... subscribed
Just purchased this and noticed within the first 24 hours the fine tuning wasn't correct Thank you for making this video definitely helped out

I just want to say thank you I have been fighting the skimmer for 4 days with no luck. Watched your video and fixed it in 3 minutes. Lifesaver!!!!
How’s it holding up? And how often do you empty the skimm?
Thank you so much for this, been searching a lot but not really anyone teaching how to turn this thing up , save me ! Thanks man

No video I can find explains this! Lol
Excellent video, I wish I had found this a couple weeks ago. Subscribed. Thanks
What did you use to lift it up more in chamber 2?

Saw this is 3 years old,but I have one of these skimmers and it fills my tank with bubbles. What would cause this? New to salt

I cut a sponge to set the length of the skimmer. I would the sponge ever couple weeks.

nanoreef 317 yes that helps thanks again and look forward to seeing more videos. 👍

Thanks for the video.
But how do you keep the micro bubbles from blowing into the tank via the return?
Thanks finally got it figured out I think thanks to you.
Does you skimmer leak from where the collection cup sits on the body of the skimmer? Mine does and I don't know how to seal it.
Mine does it its just because there isn't an o ring to watertight it properly
What’s the reasoning behind putting it in the second chamber instead of the first?
It’s not fitting in the first I had to remove the suctions from mine
My main issue with the PS2 is my cup dont fit properly on the actual skimmer, and with the lid it just likes to fall off..
how are you holding up skimmer in the middle chamber? I got the same setup in the middle but the skimmer falls all the way to the bottom.
I cut up a coarse sponge to keep it from falling down.
Did you already change the water?
does anyone know if this skimmer will fit in the Innovative marine Nuvo 10?
How do you empty the collection cup?
Just picked up this tank. On the fence.. PS or that after market filter tray. ?????
I have this and it keep making bubbles so like it gets into my tank and so I don’t know how to adjust it, even if I lower it the bubbles will still go up and leaks.
I have the same issue
i just got this skimmer and its making air bubbles shoot into my tank from the pump. Does it need to break in / how can i stop the air bubbles?
Yes, if I remember right. It took a week or so to break in.

I have the same problem with putting skimmer in 2nd chamber, it falls. Can you show pictures of the coarse sponge you used? Thanks! :)
I've just bought this skimmer and soon as i bring my water lever up it leaks water from the water level knob is this normal or have i got a faulty skimmer
That is normal. It's not perfectly sealed.
Did you have to add more saltwater or just ro when you installed it?
Do you have video maintenance the skimmer doesnt have bubble after a long time use? 6-7 months
Hola.mi skimmer fluval mini no deja de sacar micro burbujas, como arreglo eso
does it suppose to leak at the top? I cant get the bubbles to form
Great video
Hey! Great video how long did it take for the skimmer to break in? Like when did it start creating foam instead of just bubbles?
Mine took about 3 to 4 days to break in.
@@nanoreef3173 thanks 😊👍🏼
How long do you keep the skimmer on for ?
Hi man, I spun my dial too quickly what should I do?

Thank you.
Mine just fills up with clean water. It has been running for over a week. No foam 🙄
Hmm not sure. Maybe adjust the water level lower.
@@nanoreef3173 I honestly think mine is defective or something because to matter how low or high the bubbles go it does the same 😩

Mine is. 😒
No not at all I just got it today and breaking it in.
