Hi Fish Tank Guy! Love your vids! How do you have your stock duck bill return nozzles positioned? I have a similar setup on my EVO 13.5 but with a Jabao Sow-4. Thanks for your time :)
Testing powerhead gph idea: measure rpm of a propeller right in front of the outflow of a pump as calibration and then do the same for a powerhead to compare.
Great video 👍 just shutting my 300ltr tank down due to poor health, and now getting my Fluval Evo ready to set up as soon as my fish and tank are sold, so your video as a real eye opener, do yo clean your sand?
Thanks for the video! I've been considering getting a Sicce pump for my fluval tank, but I went for the vivosun instead after watching this! Also picked up one of those powerheads. I originally nabbed a Jebao OW-10 but its way too powerful even on its lowest setting. Didn't matter where I put it, it was blowing everything over. It's supposedly 132GPH on the lowest setting. Will be curious to see how the cheap powerhead compares.
@@TheFishTankGuy I agree. Looks a lot trimmer. I tried the Sicce pumps and it felt a little too tight. And I know down the line I will always be annoyed if I have to take it out. Too uncomfortably tight. Prefer to do your recommendation or the eheim 1000 (fits nicely as well).
Hey here, I am planning on setting up a 120 gallon mixed reef tank. I want to add two tangs, a purple and tomini tang. I really want a tang trio tho. I I’ll have a refugium and an oversized protein skimmer. Can you please tell me what will be the best third tang for the 120 gallon tank? I will have an oversized refugium and protein skimmer and also feed heavily in the tank. Thanks! Please let me know.
@@TheFishTankGuy I got the VIVOSUN and I'm going to return. It's adding 4-5 degrees heat on the 13.5g tank. I've been testing it for two weeks now while my tank is in the process of cycling. No pump running its 77-78F. With pump, 82-84F. This is with the heater removed.
There is definitely some "luck" involved in buying pumps. I don't believe anyone has high enough tolerances as far as the impeller is concerned to make a really quiet pump every time. That being said I am currently using a Quiet One PRO 1200 It fits. Its quiet as long as it isn't touching the glass and it has pretty decent increase in flow.
I definitely agree with you on that. Maybe I should preface my videos by stating it's only based on my experience! Thanks for sharing the pump that's working for you, I will keep it in mind! I actually have a small piece of filter pad in the third chamber so the pump doesn't vibrate against the glass 😊
In my opinion, it is. It will have a low hum, but it's just as quiet, if not more quiet than the stock pump! Lol, I've been there man, the fish tank on our bedroom didn't make it when we moved haha
I have the sicce 1.0 and a 1/2” random flow generator with 3 pieces of loc-line. Tank has plenty of flow, and no dead spots.
Does it make noise? My sicce 1.0 is significantly louder than the stock pump. Love the flow on it but wish I considered the vivosun
Is ur tank on IG?
Same 💪🏾
Isn’t the stock loc line 1/4 inch?
Thanks for your help I’ve got the same tank and new to saltwater tanks
I went w the sicce 1.0 for my evo 13.5. U can also add a random flow generator
Best option for Evo to be honest sicce 1.0 and random flow and you don't need to had any power head
Thank you for your recommendations
alright. It’s been 3 years. How’s it holding up? I want to upgrade my pump and I’m choosing between the two you have in this video.
I still have the Vivosun in the Evo and it's working great. No complaints, no issues!

How did u fit the vivosun to the evo? It doesn’t reach the bottom of the tank with the supplied hose from the original pump.
Hey so im planning on getting one of these tanks and i was wondering, would 2 clownfish, 1 clown goby, and a royal gramma be fine together?
Is the new pump quiet?
Bro the vivosun is too short. How do i make it fit??
Thanks for the video. How did the 0.5 fit into chamber 3?
It fit just fine, but I would still go with the vivosun haha!

How many times you gonna replace the sun before you hit 5 years of the SECC Warrenty
Box say wave maker? Input?
Your talking about Friction Loss
Yep, that's right!
Did the Sicce fit on the stock pipe?
Yes it did! No extra modifications needed, other than I may have had to cut the tubing a bit.
No one said the sicce .5. Gotta get the 1.0
do you dose calcium and alkalinity for your lps corals or do you just keep up with the water changes
I have the jebao DCS 1200l/h, do you think it’s completely necessary to have an adicional pump/wave maker? I have corals I don’t know.

I think it’s pronounced “see-che.” It’s italian
SICCE SYncra 0.5 is $42.99 and VIVOSUN 210GPH is $13.29 ....
Pretty crazy how much of a price difference there is for no discernible performance difference...

@@Armis71 very interesting! Thanks for letting me know. I haven't seen much of a temp increase with mine, but is something to consider!
I bought a aqua 1 for my cat fish

Is the Vivosun quiet? I’m keeping this in bedroom and don’t want to agitate the wife 😅

Its pronounced see-chay
Wish I knew that before I made a whole video pronouncing it wrong a solid ten times, haha
Sicce = "sea- chay"
