FINALLY people are talking about Okinawa. I visit family there and no lie it is THE best place to go. Mainland japanese never give okinanwa the shine it deserves, great people, great culture, and great island!

When I was stationed in Okinawa the cooks in the mess halls would pay the Japanese to sharpen their knives. It was amazing to watch. It was a very precise process.

U damn right it is. Been to a mid tier Japanese restaurant once and the lobster was sweet combining with the saltiness of the soy sauce and spiciness of wasabi.

This brought a tear to my eye. I was born on Okinawa, I'm half Okinawan. We moved to Hawaii when I was 14. I never went back until I was 45. We went to my Aunt's husband's Sushi restaurant in Nago, that's northern Okinawa. He prepared for me some sushi, I have never seen in my life. Similar to the last half of this video. It was amazing!! So incredibly delicious. My Aunt told me later, my Uncle was so happy that I ate every single thing that he prepared for me. Every plate was progressively "weider" and exotic, but so delicious. I miss my Auntie and Uncle so much! I wish I could travel back to Okinawa, stupid Covid!
After covid I hope you get to see them again and get to eat your Uncle's sushi again
