I forgot to mention the PCV tube connected to the resonator you can see it pushed to the side at this point in the video. Here: th-cam.com/video/s1E2f_AUH5Y/w-d-xo.html
Is this the tube on the back left? I couldn’t get it to release and broke it. Waiting on the dealer to get a new air resonator part in, but now part of the tube is still stuck in there. I still can’t get it to release, any pointers?
Maybe get some needle nose pliers.. while pulling on the piece make sure you are pressing the release clip in. It should be a different color like grey or white.. it need to be held in or pressed in while pulling at the same time..
Ok, just finished. Thanks for the quick and informative video! Lots of stress on the belt regardless whether you have the special tool or not. I will take the tensioner pulley any day of the week. They should bring that back...
Helped me through a roadside belt replacement. Great video thanks! Side note.. I tried the orielly rental tool and I actually found the zip ties to be easier.
On my way to work this morning I could hear my drive belt squealing and also some rattling, eventually the belt came off, belt was frayed but still intact, afraid I have a faulty pully, about to do a closer inspection (2020 GMC SIERRA 1500)
My belt is frayed on my truck. I’ve noticed when watching videos on this belt change that others are also frayed. Seems to be common on this generation GM truck. I ordered both the AC belt and the drive belt. Decided to do both because I don’t want to cut off a perfectly good drive belt later on to do the AC belt.
Yes. Think of it like this.. Your engine runs. In park. In simple terms your transmission controls the amount of power your engine makes converting it to the correct torque needed to turns the wheels..
Mine is fraid as well 35,000 miles i started hearing some mild squealing on cold start very mild and upon checking belt i saw the belt was fraid you think its just the belt or maybe a pulley
Always check pulleys when you have a belt problem. My pulleys felt fine, but recently I have been getting a squeak on cold starts, goes away once warm. I’m sure a pulley is starting to go.. belt looks fine still.. I think someone nicked my belt putting it on it has had a previous owner so I will never know..

Good tips and thanks for showing people. But PLEASE skip the music! That's super irritating. Or turn it way down.
What made you check the belt were you hearing any squealing at all
Thank you it helped a lot 👍
This may be a dumb question, but can you turn the crank with the vehicle in park?
Yes. Think of it like this.. Your engine runs. In park. In simple terms your transmission controls the amount of power your engine makes converting it to the correct torque needed to turns the wheels..
@@Bobsgaragetech thanks for the great explanation!
You can start the vehicle in park

Thanks bro
And now you have to cut off your brand new belt to change the AC belt?
Pretty much.. or you could try and pull off a pulley but I would be afraid of thread damage..
