Great video! Have the same issue with my 2021 Suburban, adding the fluid and the additives solved my problem. No more groaning noise on the cold mornings! The capacity for the diff is 1.6 quarts. I emptied the quart bottle of AC Delco diff fluid into a clean milk jug then I put the AC Delco and the Yukon additive into the empty AC Delco container. Then added the AC Delco fluid back into the quart jug holding the two additives and shook it up really good. I put one end of a long tube into the diff fill port and routed the tube up and out through the rear wheel well to above the rear tire. Inserted a small funnel into the end of the tube and had the wife pour the fluid in while I was underneath making sure the tube didn't pop out of the diff fill port. Added the quart of the mixed fluid then measured out the .6 quarts (20 oz.) to make the capacity exactly 1. 6 quarts. Worked perfectly. The tube I used was from the Pittsburg hand transfer pump I bought from Harbor Freight for 8 bucks. My Suburban has 42,000 miles on it.
Just got my wife a 21 Yukon and I heard it for the first time pulling out of our street this morning. I guess I’ll be doing this after work tomorrow. 😂
@@fondupot Well someone got a really well taken care of Canyon. That has some really nice upgrades/modifications. It would of been great if you could. But, you are going to have 2 great reasons in the back of that Yukon as to why that Canyon had to go.
@ just got done with the fluid change. Very easy process, thanks for the video. I did something similar to another poster. Took the 4oz of Yukon, 4 oz of diff additive and then 43oz of the diff fluid and mixed them all together well. Then pumped them all in from the mixed container. Worked well. Did the figure 8s and the sound is gone. Seems to have done the trick on my 21 z71 Tahoe with 60k miles. Thanks!!!
Hi sir I m from saudi arabia.i hv got yukon 2021 and having same noise and its really irritating.i just hot the fluid changed two hours ago.i hope it will sort out the issue but hvnt added additives.dont know if only applying differntial fluid will work or not.really worried
Just gives a little more extra lubrication to those Limited slip discs. This differential is different than the G80 locker in the pickup trucks that doesn’t require any additive. This worked good tho. The diff is nice and quiet and still works perfectly. I tested it out in the rain the other day. Thanks for tuning in.
@joshuabednarz1793 you don’t have to. But since it s a LS diff it won’t hurt. You could also use a 75W90 fluid like Valvoline that has a LS additive already mixed in. I haven’t done my front diff yet. But I plan on doing it soon, along with my transfer case fluid.
@@fondupot I just did the transfer case yesterday my self. I still need to do the front and rear diff . And trans. I got the 3.0 diesel model. But similar to yours. Great video btw.

@@leshull8140 glad it helped! Nice ingenuity to fill it up. Hahaha
Perfect timing for this video. I just picked up a 21 Tahoe with the exact same mileage and started hearing that noise.
Should help you out. Mine has been silent since.
Thank you for the tip and detailed video. Solved the issue on my 21’ Yukon with 65k miles on that was having the same issue 👍🏽
Glad to help! Thanks for watching. My Yukon has been quiet since doing this as well

Will do. Thanks for the video!
@@fondupot just changed it and did a bunch of tight circles in the cul-de-sac. I’m sure my neighbors think I’m nuts.
Haha. And what’s the verdict? Quiet?

same problem. very detailed video. Thank you

Great video. I'm having the same issue with 2021 Z71 Suburban. Getting ready to perform my 3rd differential change.
Give the additives a try on your next fluid change.
Awesome video, thank you sir
@@chrisbarnett7591 thanks for watching. Hope it helped
Thanks for the video! I just did my 21' suburban rst with 71,000 miles, about 350 miles in, still no sound
Mine has been silent for over 1,000 miles now. Glad yours worked too.
Great vid. I have the same problem on my ‘22 RST but it sounds like it’s coming from the front. Is there a front differential? It’s not 4x4.
There’s no front differential on a 2wd truck. If you’re hearing a similar sound it’s more than likely a wheel bearing gone bad or a dragging brake.
@@fondupot it could be the brake because sometimes I hear a click of if I press the brake pedal all the way at low speed
There ya go. You might have a caliper sticking causing a pad to drag.
Hello, great video! Did you use the full bottles of both the additive bottles before the diff fluid?
@@jamesclark694 yes! Pour both additives in first. Then fill up the rest with the diff fluid. Thanks for watching.

Do you have to put additive in if I'm just changing the fluid change? Not having issues with mine. Also do you have a video for doing the front one?
