    Thank you, both, that was a interesting discussion. We must remember, though, that was Leone's first foray into the director's role, and his style started off aping Kurosawa, but only in subsequent films did it crystalise into his own specific way of film making. Kurosaws'a first film was two decades earlier, and came into international prominence with Rashomon over a decade earlier. I too appreciate both films, though. They are both super cool, Yojimbo's (maybe a cultural characteristic?) characters tend to act in a more exaggerated fashion, whilst Leone's cast seem a little more calm and collected. Amazing to think they were created only 3 years apart. Apparently, according to Christopher Frayling I believe, Kurosawa earned more money from A Fistful of Dollars, having sued Leone, than his own film, and Leone was thrilled to receive the letter of intent from his mentor...
