Before, he just disappeared after the small talk, and Yoshida didn’t like how it ended like that. So he added his final speech to you, to let you know that there is more in the worlds to explore, to adventure to new places, and to see things you never imagined. I honestly believe this was well worth the delay.
The final line by Ardbert--"Let's finish this."--is actually said by Elidibus in Ardbert's body from back in 5.3. In this way I choose to believe that, even after blows struck and lives lost, Elidibus is right there with you on that final walk, joining his encouragement to that of your friends.
It doesn't matter how many times I see people react to Meteion and the Elpis flowers, I always start getting slightly teary-eyed. It's such a beautiful scene.
This walk was so powerful for a lot of people. I was going through some stuff myself, and the walk did more things to me than I thought. When I made it to the entrance of the dead ends, with all the Elpis flowers, aside the NPCs my close friends were waiting for me there, waiting to tackle the end together. The things I felt at that moment quickly melted. Even if one walks to the journey’s end alone, it was a reminder to myself. You are never alone.
I was fine when the scions were being taken, even after the twins got taken. I felt that they were still there in as Aether, as Dynamis to help us continue on. BUT WHEN THE MUSIC. WHEN THE MUSIC THE MUSIC WHEN IT PLAYED OH GOD MY TEARS HELD NO QUARTER.
