Watch me make Texas Trash Pie! It's an easy dump-and-bake type of pie that has a cookie-like texture. It's sweet and salty! Made with pretzels, caramel, chocolate chips, graham crackers, coconut and chopped pecans. I think it's great for any occasion.

TH-cam started recommending videos of this pie to me recently and I can say it honestly feels like the pie that's been missing in my life. Salty, sweet, crunchy, encased in pie crust, good to eat with ice cream or whipped cream...thanks so much for the well explained recipe!

@@SavvyMamaLifestyle You're right about that, I know I'm going to want to eat the whole thing. I just did the calorie calculation on this and 1/8th of the pie is close to 800 calories :O. A truly Texan pie. Worth it though, especially if you work hard for it. Thank you again, will definitely be making it and sharing it soon!

I was just thinking since this is so RICH tasing... making it a little THINNER spread out over a Sheet Pan... I have even thought of putting this on top of Shortbread... so to cut the sweetness of the topping....
What about Puff Pastry....

I made it tonight and it is the sweetest dessert i've ever eaten. Delish though..but some ice cream and/or a glass of cold milk would be necessary to offset all that sweetness.

You can certainly make your own homemade crust. It’s just an easy pie. Homemade crust would add more steps and, most likely, people making the recipe want easy.
