I stayed here a few months ago prior to the close down. 3 night's £110 i thought a bargain. Checked in by a nice indian lad (once he found my booking). Room 15 i had a deluxe double. Seemed like a nice room. Great bathroom (with constant hot water). But TV didn't work think its a running theme with this hotel. Mattress was very hard but i like a firm mattress. It was very noisy tho. Looked to book a few weeks ago and it was "fully booked" so went to a place a few doors away. Walked past it and there was red fire brigade tape over the doorway and 2 homeless lay in the porch. After seeing this i wont be booking again. Shame cos it has the potential but the owners seem to be penny pinching. In every hotel i book, on check out i strip my bed to make sure they cant just tidy it up and not use the same sheets. Another good video mate. Cheers.
I'm lost for words.. I'm laughing my head off but also wow'd at this! Them kettles & adapters .. by the time they've spent money on cheap dodgy foreign kettles and cheap adapters .. they could of got an asda own for most likely same price. No hot water, fire regulations breaches, staff lying, whole place is bodged. I'm going here, this place needs investigating. Shame really when they got so many factors, right. Cracking video mate. You described it perfectly 'it's just not finished' .. them electrics are going to kill someone.
Adam, you need to get back to that Astor Hotel again, completely new people running it. It is awful! I went to stop there recently in the hopes I'd get a room that was in their advertising photos but instead I was given one of the worst rooms, it was in room 1.
I would report the electrics to trading standards.A child passed away in a Blackpool hotel from being electrocuted last September so leaving things stuck in a socket is a no no as is those adaptors.
Am really shocked I worked at this hotel did the season in 1991 for my auntie when it was known as the new sunset Hotel it was always fully booked from Mon to Friday an Friday to Monday with coach parties . The hotel started as one hotel then both properties on either side became available an my auntie an uncle transformed it into a 50 bedroomed hotel. So sad to see what it has now become 😢
I stayed here with 2 kids in August first impressions of the room was lovely i think the place has great potential but there was a lot of half finished jobs outside of the room there was electrical cabling everywhere
I live in Blackpool and yes there are many hotels that give the Town a bad name, then again there are some really nice hotels and guest houses where people try really hard to make the best of your stay. There is now the new Premier inn in Talbot square and the the new Travel lodge near the train station plus a few other Travel lodges around town. Albert Road isn't what it was, as are many of the old hotel guest house areas around Blackpool. Given the option I would go for the Travel Lodge's or Premier Inns rather than risking the old 50's / 60's hotels. You do need to report this hotel as people are saying you might save a life.
Holiday Inn at the Train Station 👍 Travelodge is near Pleasure Beach or near the Football Club. I hope he does report it bearing in mind what happened at Tiffany's last year.
Rest assured its been reported! I actually prefer independent hotels as they represent true value and service. Premier Inn and Travelodge are way to expensive now they don't cater for budget stays unless you book 6 months in advance
You're a braver man than I am to actually stay the night. I'm easy to please and mostly stay in Britannias, however there's no way in hell I'd stay here with all the fire and electric safety issues, don't fancy dying in a fire. Not to mention the rock hard bed, and a big red flag that they didn't change the bed sheets before you checked in. Should definitely report this place, should not be open, disaster waiting to happen
Hi I would not stay in that hotel room and I would not touch that place with a barge pool. I would avoid Hotel Blackpool. There is to much wrong with that hotel. Thanks for making this video. It is totally unacceptable to sell a hotel room with no soap. no shower gel, no loo roll, no hot water, no working TV and no safe Kettle with no tea or coffee and with all the dangerous Health and Safety issues. That whole place should be shut down. The outside looked bad.
I went to this hotel around a month ago, we originally booked at The New Apollo Hotel which was spontaneous as I weren't planning on stopping in Blackpool for the night as it was just a day trip but it was getting late and I was with my 3 year old son. The New Apollo Hotel looked alright inside however we had issues with it so we cancelled it and found Hotel Blackpool, we went into room 12 and it was really lovely, very clean, felt very comfortable, felt safe and secure and it smelt lovely. We asked why there weren't any kettles and they explained that it's newly taken oven, some of it has been renovated for fire safety, and the kettles have been removed due to health and safety. I believe there was a fire safety problem in the past, they'll probably and hopefully eventually get kettles, as for the TV I have no idea as to why the TV is like that as ours worked perfectly well. The hotel is decent, and especially for the price, I have it booked again for my next stay with my son and partner. We all liked it. It is a shame about the whole kettle business as some of us enjoy a cup of tea or coffee when we want to sit in there and relax, or even a pot noodle but hopefully they'll get it sorted. In my opinion it is absolutely lovely compared to the majority in Blackpool that are actually falling apart, they have kettles that are falling apart inside, black bits at the bottle of the water or bad limescale or someone's peeded in them, beds completely covered in stains, old bedding, just run down hotels. It seems to me that Hotel Blackpool are trying. If you're worried about one random plug in a hotel that they're trying to get back up and running then you'll be completely shocked to know that the majority of blackpool is a fire safety hazard, or a hazard in general.
@monkeybear7937 I think it has the basis to be a really good hotel I did say the rooms have been done well - the safety issues are not just in one room if you read reviews online others have experienced similar problems. At the end of the day the sheets were dirty, no hot water until morning rock hard bed and dangerous electrics I think I described it accurately. I've stayed in places half this price without these issues
This hotel got ' New Kimberley Hotel' vibes to it once dubbed ' Britain's worst hotel got closed down due to bad electrics fire exits been blocked and the roof falling in. Hotel Blackpool needs a full inspection it might not just be the electrics at fault there could be more problems lurking.
when I was staying at the Georgian and Hollies at the end of July they were doing work to Hotel Blackpool, on the last day the doors were cross taped with a hazard tape on the glass at the entrance, Blackpool is terrible for hotels now no matter what hotel you go to.
PLEASE READ I’ve just reported it via email to Blackpool council, I hope others do the same, I’m not trying to get it shutdown but the electrical problems are very concerning. I didn’t add a link for your video as I’m not sure you’d want it included. I did add a link to the well known site where it is listed though so let’s hope it will be checked. I would’ve imagined that it would be checked before being allowed to open in the first instance but obviously it hasn’t been done thoroughly enough if at all.
Rest assured its been reported! It's wrong the hotel is messing with people's safety someone was killed recently in a hotel nearby after touching exposed wiring so this is an accident waiting to happen
Is the dodgy kettle clean tonight??? NOPE Jesus can they not just buy some Tesco value ones? Place needs knocking down not shutting down. You crack me up... half a bog rolll and some questionable stains. LOL
not having a kettle due to health and safety is ridiculous! as hotels I have been to in the past always had kettles in the room. when there is other things that breaches health and safety massively, including exposed wires on the fuse board. report it to the Health and safety executive as there are some massive H&S breaches that they need punishing for as it will only take something for a potentially serious injury.
@@wanderingwiganer That's good! as this place should be condemned! as they have failed to improve as required when they first got closed down for the very same breaches!
