This video Shows a proof that The Quality at Disneyland has Slipped . Prices in 2013 were better of what we got than today's value . I still like Disneyland alot but it's sad that what the company is going today. Disney Return to your roots that made you great.
Old School Disney is the best version of Disney
I miss this Disneyland.
This should be shown to the current leadership of the parks, not just Disneyland. This was the value-added feature that made Disney parks magical places to go all the time! Now, there are too many bean counters in charge, and if it doesn't squeeze another dime out of the guests, then we don't do it.
Don't ever lose these, David; this historical content is truly appreciated.

Families, fun, shared moments from the past and hope for the future. Those key elements have moved away and without a radical change of heart, the park will die and become a memory like Pacific Ocean Park, POP..
Love Traditional Disney!
We loved Big Thunder BBQ. I wouldn't mind seeing some form return but with the locals of batuu celebrating some sort of dinner-feast. An intergalactic band playing strange but somehow familiar tunes while you enjoy tipyip on the bone and Bantha Ribs.
Also, seeing the citizens of Buena Vista Street with the tree ceremony made the onion cutting ninja's come out.
Wow!!!! Thank u for the memories fresh baked. We started going to Disneyland and dca in 2008 and i also remember how much cast members were involved and u were important to them..i really miss that bbq place were starwars land is at now...

I do feel that the Disneyland I love is truly gone. There really was still magic just ten years ago. I really felt it leaving quickly between 2017-2019, which was the last time I went.
That was fun. Loved the nostalgia but a bit sad that they took away a lot of these extras that made the parks so special. Thanks David ❤

I’ve been going to Disney regularly for 28 years, and big thunder ranch is the biggest thing I miss that has been taken away the last 28 years 😭😭

There seems to be such a huge gap in the magnificence of the castle and Small World Christmas lights vs the tree lit up.

I noticed the Christmas Tree at Disneyland also but I think it looks fuller because of the surrounding trees. They are trimmed dirrwfently and there are less of them. If not less than just smaller
The Dapper Dan's do not sound the same. Even in 2016 and later they had a fuller sound. We need more base and balance. Sorry Dan's the older arrangements were better.
The live entertainment and streetmasphere characters really make going to the park extra special.

The band for the Jingle Jangle Jamboree is Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies from Knott's! I knew they used to perform at Disney, but my brain associates them to just Knott's. Thanks for sharing!! Happy holidays!

Watching this makes me see how much small live entertainment we have lost. If the Tree Lighting (DCA) was like it was back then it would be such a treat, I hope they slowly add back some of these kinda offerings of add something new things in the future.
I loved Big Thunder Ranch, though from watching videos happening now it seems like the holidays was more fun.😅
A wonderful trip down nostalgia lane! I love the merch, shows, decorations, and coziness of the park in 2013! I have so many fond memories of Disneyland a decade ago, and I wish I would have filmed more of it when I had the chance. I guess it's just a chance to make new memories now! :) Thank you for sharing this reaction with us!
I love seeing merch from a decade ago by the way. It's so interesting to see how different (or similar) it is to today's merch. I miss some of the old merch designs too.
There was less attractions but more to do because of the actual entertainment side.

watching the third video I miss the country bear characters and show, I had a feeling ken at Knotts were in fact this same band. that whole area felt then how knotts berry farm feels for me now.
Bringback Wally Bow and the beautiful Can Can Dancers. My parents really loved the. Can Can dancers and when Disney takes away things that second and third generations ago used to be things we remembered and enjoyed as kids we can’t pass it on that’s when the tradition becomes lost
They still do all that stuff, Dave, but you gotta go to Knott’s to see it.

Watching this just confirms a controversial opinion that I have. Galaxys Edge was not worth losing big Thunder Ranch.
I'm with you 100%-and I'm a Star Wars fan. Big Thunder Ranch was classic Disneyland at it best.
They could have, and should have, preserved it if they wanted.
At least Knotts stole the best show in the park

That was post COVID and when they were out of control with lighting lanes. Those are different now.
17:14 I feel like 90s and early 2000s Disney was more..."theater"? Camp? I remember a lot of shows/plays at the Disney theaters and things similar to this that made it a show! Maybe Disney needs to remember that's a magical part they're missing. You say that Walt said "good show". Make it a good show. Don't just light the tree, make it a show.

DCA has a nice "flex" space at Paradise Gardens, and this video shows what used to be Disneyland's version. It really needs a new one, and there's an obvious place: The old Motorboat Cruise area

my third year of having an AP (2013). It was all so carefree back then, hard to believe it was 10 years ago! And boy oh boy do I miss Big Thunder Ranch, especially during the holiday season!

One thing I’ve noticed going back and watching old TH-cam videos is how short they seem now. I guess there was a limit back then. So many videos go on for like 20 minutes or even an hour or more now. As much as you’d think people have short attention spans with TikTok etc, TH-cam has gone the opposite with long form videos you can live with a while and I like that a lot.

11:20 is farley the fiddler,a fun roaming performer. a couple of things i gathered from this video: A) disney in the past always seems to be better than disney in the present, and 2) even our host finally realized that looking at merch isn't the greatest content. i think most of the reason why we lost a lot of this stuff is disney is cheap. they have to pay "street performers",and cast members for setting up displays and such. anywhere they can save a nickle or a dime they'll do it. pretty sad.

This is such a great video. I miss Christmas time in the park from earlier. Today it feels more like an amalgamation of all holidays but no holiday in particular to be honest. Yes, they have a lot of garland strung up and a Christmas tree, but they don't even say Merry Christmas. It's just happy holidays. I used to enjoy Disneyland as a kid going for Christmas.. but as an adult, I'll just go to Dollywood instead. They have legit gospel carolers and don't patronize their guests with modern platitudes.
I also think the reason foreign guests loved visiting Disneyland during the holidays so much was because it was so uniquely about Christmas steeped in American culture. There's so much about the Disney parks now that have no American identity anymore. Literally why would Japanese or Chinese guests want to come here when they can just see the same thing over in their country?
Never forget what current Disney leadership has taken from us !!!
