The best rock and blues guitarist that ever was, humble, approachable, an all round good guy just into his music, his country, and liquor. He never got the recognition he truly deserved yet maybe he never really wanted. He never branded himself as anything but an Irish guitarist and I'm sure that p'd a lot of people off from other countries who wanted to claim him as their own. !

D.k. totally agree with you. Rory never sold out, staying true to his musical and ethical beliefs until the end.

I totally agree. I quote "he regularly stressed the fact that he just wanted to play music and live a quiet life, his worse fear being to gain popularity and have a record in the charts (Sounds, 6 June 1975)"

This is a pretty good recording, I received it directly from the taper, but this version or broadcast did not include "Out On The Western Plain" track (still one of my faves!!). The taper traded me a "1st Gen" tape then I had it transferred & artwork made & gave it a title (Tearing Down The Empire, I know, corny). Then later the taper tells me he has the complete Audience source he taped himself but he thought I'd rather have the FM Source, etc. Personally I prefer well-balanced Audience recordings. Ironically TMOQ (really??) releases a bootleg of this show called Out On The Western Plain, sourced from FM (possibly pre-FM) including the title track (finally) but missing the complete encore!! Needless to say I always wanted master up a complete show using all the needed source, but that was just one of many projects that I never got to.
Oh well, not to take away from this great share. I love seeing these shared here, as it saves me from digging through all my recordings. THX!!!

You're welcome, hopefully someday full concerts will be officially released instead of reissues and compilations! This US was all great performances.

@@RoryGallagherRarities I hear you & agree. Donal could be making some income for the foundation if he made live recordings available. I've been following Gov't Mule (seen over 150 of their shows & Warren many more) since 1994-95 & they, like a lot of other groups, offer most of their shows almost immediately after the show is done. You don't pay as much for them as we used to for LP's & CD's but they're made available usually in well balanced masterings. Then the money could be used to preserve more recordings. Oh well, what do I know? Take Care!!!

Sorry laziness got the better of me, forgot to put it in, they literally only played a week more before they left him to go their own way! McKenna left 1981.
