The sad thing was, “Ducktales: Remastered” was the last hurrah of those of the original cast who survived then. Alan Young (Scrooge McDuck) died in 2016, June Foray (Ma Beagle and Magica Di Spell) died 2017, Chuck McCann (Duckworth, Burger and Bruiser Beagles) died 2018 and Russi Taylor (Webby, Huey, Dewey and Louie) died 2019 (Russi last voiced in the Ducktales reboot as a younger Donald Duck before passing).
I finished Ducktales Remastered yesterday, and holy cow did WayForward do an excellent job with it. Makes me want them to remaster other Disney/Capcom classics like Darkwing Duck. I had the NES version of Ducktales on a bootleg-like multicartridge when I was younger, but I didn’t figure out the pogo mechanic so I never got far as a kid
@@beauwalker9820 Not anymore sadly. It was delisted from the mobile store in 2019. I know the xbox 360 version is still up but I only have the ps3 and Wii U versions.
The original ducktales for the nes was a great game. One of the best on the system overall. The remake, holy shit. I bought that game when it came out and even though ducktales was long since gone, that game blew me away. If 1990 me got a chance to play that game I don't know if I could have handled it. It was like playing the actual cartoon show which is amazing.
Let’s Compare Ducktales 1: NES (1989) 2: Game Boy (1990) 3: Xbox 360 / Playstation 3 / Wii U / Windows (2013) 4: Android / IOS / Fireos / Windows Phone / TvOS (2015)
We all need to ask Disney to make Alan Young a Disney Legend for being the voice of Uncle Scrooge for thirty years--"Mickey's Christmas Carol" was the first time he voiced Scrooge (who was playing Ebenezer Scrooge to Mickey's Bob Crachit and Donald's Fred--since Fred in the story was Scrooge's nephew by way of his late sister Fan).
DuckTales Remastered is an expanded remaster. It filled in the plot holes the NES version left behind. The developer thought the NES version was too easy.
@@GatoSoftSoftware Close, the problem here is the way licensing goes, it's actually Disney-Capcom, and THEN Capcom-WayForward. And less and less companies want to be the ones to approach Disney since their prices skyrocketed when compared to the old days. The deal is usually more favorable for the developer if Disney is the one approaching them.
I have to prefer the nes version because on gameboy not only is everything zoomed in but the level layouts has been screwed up by flip flopping it into reverse or the rearange certain sections of it,i don’t know what capcom was thinking, Now while the remastered versounds sounds very very cool( damn i wish that was the og version because as a kid i would,ve loved it) BUT problem is all those fucking annoying cut scenes during gameplay,am mean why just fucking shut up and let me just play, damnit.

The end of a grand era...
If I'm correct russi and alan also voiced their characters in the mickey mouse shorts
At least they all went out on a high note.
and Launchpad and Donald outlived them all
@@masterfarr8265 Sadly so
Its such a miracle that they got Alan Young and June Foray to voice in the remaster before they passed away.
I am guessing the og cast would of been in the reboot otherwise
God bless them.
It’s a miracle some people still have these games, the new generation would have never known what the duck tales games were.

Oh man! Ducktales had the best musc😁
one of the best nes games
No
@@MrHomelessHobos yes it actually was. Graphics, gameplay, sound effects, music, was all too notch by nes standards.
One of the best licensed games
I really hope to see a set or R-Type and Saint Dragon versions, especially the latter, it's such an underappreciated classic.
We have both games in our to-do list!

Why isn't remasted on the switch yet?
It should
I think it was because the license WayForward had with Disney expired. That was the reason why it also was removed from Steam's store.

how about an HD remaster of the Contra games?
Wayforward made Contra 4. They would be perfect for the job.

Yes but there will be black outlines on the sides cuz it wasn’t optimized for IPhone X alike displays
It was updated for 64bit though
