Just a quick note related to the Sabbath. I do not think Christians are called to be under the Law and we do not have the same obligation to observe the Sabbath that they did at the time of the events of Mark chapter 2. I have teaching content on how to view the Law and how we can read and learn from it in the light of Christ here. (2 video playlist) th-cam.com/video/qoGKJEENngc/w-d-xo.html I also have a series dealing with the Hebrew Roots Movement (who teach that we should all obey the Law of Moses today) here th-cam.com/play/PLZ3iRMLYFlHuOD_BytSxbejzCnGPOcgFw.html (4 video playlist)
But the Ten commandments are the unchanging immutable holy law of God. That's why Jesus came to die for our sins (1 John 4:3) because the law cannot be changed. How can 9 out of 10 commandments be right?
@@godistruth3411 The Prophet Samuel (1 Sam 10: 25) also wrote an an ancient manuscript called "Law of Kings" which teaches Gentiles were never bound by Mosaic Laws, festivals, temple rituals, food laws, or the Sabbath. Even non-canon-non-inspired books state the same: www.pseudepigrapha.com/jubilees/2.htm verses 30-31.
@@godistruth3411 We aren't bound by the Law anymore Romans 3 and 4 make that very clear. The Law is used to shine the light and expose our sin and our need for a savior. Why would you want to go back to following the Law that can't save anyone?
@@seana1190 And Logan Bearing fruit. KJV Psalms 1 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. We are just as dependent upon Christ, in order to live a holy life, as is the branch upon the parent stock for growth and fruitfulness. Apart from Him we have no life. We have no power to resist temptation or to grow in grace and holiness. Abiding in Him, we may flourish. Drawing our life from Him, we will not wither nor be fruitless. We will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water. Abiding in Christ. KJV John 15 Jesus Is the Vine 1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. 9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. We don't keep the commandments of God to be saved, we keep the commandments of God because we are saved and abiding in Christ. KJV 2 Corinthians 13 5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? The good tree will produce good fruit. If the fruit is unpalatable and worthless, the tree is evil. So the fruit borne in the life testifies as to the condition of the heart and the excellence of the character. Good works can never purchase salvation, but they are an evidence of the faith that acts by love and purifies the soul. And though the eternal reward is not bestowed because of our merit, yet it will be in proportion to the work that has been done through the grace of Christ.. KJV Psalms 139 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. God bless

Again, the Prophet Samuel was explicitly clear, as are other biblical verses like Acts 21: 25, the Book of Jubilee, etc. Don't ADD to scripture. As for the rest you've recorded, may I suggest a simple solution to avert one from ending up on the legalistic path? LOVE God and LOVE your neighbor, per Romans 13: 8-10.

Most of your teachings are so beautifully thought out and expressed while making sure to have a firm foundation in biblical truth, and this is no exception! I am extremely grateful for your channel (even though I have some slight disagreements on baptism) because of how rare it truly is, especially on TH-cam, to find sound biblical doctrine that is taught in such a captivating and interesting way. You truly were called to teach others. Keep up the good work.
Cannot say enough how grateful to God I am of this Mark series! I thank God for you, Ptr. Mike, for loving God and being faithful to Jesus in everything!
Your channel provides us with such a WELL ROUNDED education on all things Biblical! And you BRING OUT its relevance for people of TODAY! Thanks for yet ANOTHER enjoyable video.
God bless you Pastor Mike your ministry thank you for your gentle teaching which resonates with my spirit at times even causing conviction and reassessing my Christian walk and what it means to be a Christian in this tribulation operating in a Babylon system having freedom in Christ yet being all things to all men that some may be saved thank God there is Grace and thank God it's not by my works that I should ever see heaven hallelujah for the blood of Jesus
So funny God just told me to start reading mark! Was just reading lord of the sabbath today and God gave me a new realization of it and then I see this video wow!
I must truly say that, I listen to Voodie B., J. Peters, J. Mac, & love them. Mike Winger's breaks down scripture in a unique way that proves Jesus is who Jesus is. Awesome channel.
Isa 58:13-14 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your PLEASURE on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
Isaiah 56 is even better. He's literally talking about the foreigners who would keep the sabbath, having been brought into the covenant by the messiah, and the bad shepherds who know nothing...
Mike, first of all I love your teaching and totally agree with all you said in this video. The Sabbath is an issue that has become a real blessing in my life and one that I would love others to come into the goodness of. My Saviour is 'Lord of the Sabbath' and strangely I have heard that used as a reason not to observe it. The big question, which I'm sure you've addressed before, is why do we observe Sunday rather than the seventh day, Saturday? The only answer I can come up with is found in Mark 7v8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men . If it is not found in scripture it is a tradition of man. A little research shows the pagan influence on the day, the clue being in the name..SUNday. This is a topic no-one I know wants to seriously discuss because in our mainstream churches we are too far invested in what we presently practise. For most, I don't think they have even thought about it. And it's not difficult, it was made for our benefit. A day of rest, no buying and selling. What could be hard about that? I'd love to hear your views on the issue as I respect the authority you give to scripture and your logical and methodical method of study. Maybe I'm missing something but it sure doesn't feel like it. Isaiah 56 v 2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
37:46 "Jesus said I'm Lord of the Sabbath because he's God with us" John 10v31 I and my father are one. John 14v15 If ye love me, keep my commandments 1 John 5v3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. BTW, I'm not HR. Saved by grace through faith and trying to use the word as a lamp.
Jeremy Whann I asked that same question when I was young; the response I was given is that we worship in the first day of the week because Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week, and this has some new covenant significance that I didn’t understand. Also, because the saints gathered together on the first day of the week to break bread and give alms to the poor. More than likely, the early church no longer found themselves welcome at the synagogues so they worshipped in homes, but seeing as many of the early Christians still had Jewish roots and wanted to keep their Jewishness as well, they probably had some sort of compromise with their gentile brethren and agreed to meet on the first day of the week before work so that the Jewish Christians wouldn’t come into conflict with their families and communities. Constantine may have played a role in codifying Sunday worship, with the amalgamation of Pagan and Christian practices, mixing them together to maintain religious peace.
@@jaygee2187 I've heard those reasons before but did man have any right to change Gods commandment, nullifying the word of God? Seem to fit with Mark 7v9 Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. Bottom line is I can't find it in scripture, not a single verse that would warrant the change.
Jeremy Whann I’ll give you my thoughts; you can accept or reject them. The sabbath day worship was for the Hebrew in their own land wherein Gods law was not just a matter of obedience, but also of running a nation. After the Jewish national rejection of their messiah in the middle of Acts, the gospel was sent to the gentiles, who had no law, no nation under God, no elect status that included Gods system of governance. Many were slaves, working seven days a week. Theirs sabbath, their rest, was found in Christ. There is no indication that the sabbath day was changed to Sunday, but there is also no indication that the OT commandment was still to be enforced upon NT gentile believers.
Wow Mike, Glory to God! That was well said!! I really feel that the last 10min. really spoke to me on how to deal with facing the challenges I have on wanting to speak on these topics of homosexuality through my social media where I have family and friends struggling with the blindness of this sin and ones like it. I've stuggled with speaking on them in fear of them deleting me and then not being able to be influenced through all the Bible scriptures and faith based words I use with my social media. But I believe you really put into perspective with the only example I should take which is of Jesus!
@ the 1:03 mark you mention the anger is rising. OMGosh, I see this everyday. I have had the same thought for some time now. My heart is grieved more everyday for those who are so angry. It is not a problem only of the political left but also the political right. It is a problem of the unsaved and those who claim to be saved. I pray we as the truly saved do not have anger unless it is a righteous anger at the evil in the world. That our actions coming out of that anger be a good and loving witness for Christ.

@@stephenreid7043 That's a long conversation. Its also known as reformed theology. I can send a link with a basic summary of the 5 points that encapsulates their tradition. Basicly, the earlt church fought agaisnt the stoics, who believed in natural determinism. They also fought against the Gnostics who believed in divine determinism. For like 300 years that was the case. Until after chritianity was made legal during the time of constantine. Which i think caused vigilance to drop exponentially. Later Augustine, who was a manichean gnostic for 10 years, started teaching what they always had on this subject. Then at the end of his life he began to bring in gnostic ideas like original sin, meaning inherited guilt and thus inability to believe, and divine determinism. His ideas are what John calvin based his entire institutes on. Quoting him like every 3 pages at least. A great book I'd recommend it Your interested in the history and scripture and philisophy of it is, "what love is this?" By dave hunt. I will send the short video though. I hope that helps answer your question some. So in every place that matters they hold their counsels and their traditions as what the bible says. They use their own minds and natural man to understand the word of God. Their mind is not set on the Spirit and Truth. God says for instance i desire all to come to repetance and faith. They say no God elected who he wants in eternity past. God says he made attonement for every person. They say no he only died for the elect. God says humble yourself and i will lift you up. They say no, no one can humble themselves willingly but God irresistibly humbles those he's chosen. I could go on and explain the fruit of things like Westminster that is their go to confession. Westminister was a church state union like rome, used to agree with each other then imprison or kill those who weren't calvinists. Then they celebrate what these people think God is like? Paul explains this stuff takes minds captive so they really can't see it. Col2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ. I was a Calvinist and my desire is for their good but also for who God and Jesus really is. As they raise these lofty ideas against the knowledge of God they nullify the message and gospel. Holding as commands the traditions made by natural man. Conversely paul tells us in 1 cor 2 that as we set our mind on the Spirit and mature, the Spirit himself reveals the deep things of God. Hope it's helpful. Thanks for asking. ❤☺
@@nathanburgett1599 Thank you very much for this my friend. I have found this very useful instruction. I can see from the description of TULIP that I myself have never believed in this limited form of God's salvation plan, rather I accept John 3:16 where "whosoever " means all people!
@@stephenreid7043 your welcome. I'm glad it was helpful brother. I think calvinism is far from the only tradition that does this. I am however intimately acquainted with it having been taken captive in it myself. Thus my heart and focus is on helping people avoid that themselves. The teaching of jesus and traditions of the apostles is what we're called to follow. Which carried on fir some time till the enemy wrecked things from without and within. While in every generation the church had been there and satan can't prevail against it, he has created traditions that are similar to draw people way from Truth. It's usually slowly adding a little at a time till it's something else entirely. Its good to Trust the Spirit of Truth we have been given and really test all things objectively. Blessings.❤
While I was commenting on your president comment, you mentioned the "too good to go to church" people lol😂 I want to clarify I'm not too good to go to church, I just am not drawn to it like I am drawn to the Word of God, and I get tired of being judged by "church ladies". And it's been far more than dirty looks, it's been straight on verbal attacks, it's been stalked by one admitted witch, it's been scolded for being 20min late to someones house, it's been phoniness, accused of coming on to married man because I simply spoke to one, selling of new age meditations, being invited to Bhuddist class by them, etc etc etc etc. So there!😘
Please don’t confuse Moses’ law (613 ordinances) with God’s law (Ten Commandments). They are completely different. God separated them, His inside the ark and Moses’ outside the ark to show their level of importance. Also, God’s were written on stone which is permanent and Moses’ were written on parchment which dissolves.
I say that the Pharisees broke the Sabbath by doing their self imposed "work" to catch people breaking the manmade tradition Sabbath rules and then calling them out on it.
I need prayer!! and some guidance. im 23 yrs old, engaged to the father of our 2 children. we also live together. I got saved after the fact of having 2 kids with this man. He is not saved. He's good at his job but when he comes home he is lacking as a father and "husband". i need so much help. i really do. i want to marry this man because i want our family to be together. however, he is not fair to me and he is difficult. very difficult. we do not agree on most things. i am so torn. please pray for me.
Taylor Flippo Hi Taylor, that sounds so tough. I'm so thankful you're seeking to honor the Lord in your situation. Praying right now for you, for God's direction, wisdom, strength, and protection. ❤️Blessings. --Moderator
Hi Taylor! I came across your post. I understand you. I want to let you know that you're not alone. The love of God is there for you. Many years ago I used to date a Christian girl I love her for her values, but I was not not a Christian. I used to make fun of her sometimes I was mean , I got to the point that I cheated on her. She used to pray for me a lot and I will laugh at it. Eventually we had a baby but that wasn't enough to change me. One day my wife walk off on me and divorce me. I lost my house I lost my job and then after she left God came to my life. And when God came to my life I fell down on my knees and cry and cry and cry and cry so much. Because I realized that I was blind and now I can see... Spiritually. I repented and I try to gain her trust but it was too late. Through the pain of the divorce I learned how holy is marriage. I understood the significance of family I understood the sacrifice on the cross. You going through this at 23 I was 35! 😩. Yep a grown-up man. Please you need to be connected to a body you need to go to church and get a good group of friends people that would be your pillars of faith. No matter what happens with this be faithful to God trust his wisdom. There is a lot to learn not only as a relationship or also as a human as a woman as a Christian. To this day I think my ex-wife for leading me to Jesus. Even though I lost my home and my family, my heart belongs to God and not pain not suffering not defeat. My divorce was the consequences of sin. And I learned my lesson. Be faithful to the Lord ,and wait ,that's the hardest. But you on the right path. God bless you and I'll be praying for. There's a book called the five languages of love. It's a very good broken help you to develop a good relationship with your kids. And eventually wear your husband . I will be praying for you . And you're not alone!!!! God is with you. ;
You need to find a strong local church, Bible-believing and Spirit-filled, that offers guidance, discipling, counseling and other forms of support. They can help not only you but your fiancee and children too. Pray that God leads you to true Christians who love one another and look after His sheep.
Thank you all for your support. My mom is saved and she helps me a lot. We finally found a church about 1hr and 30 min away from us a few months ago. Bible believing Christians that really love and serve our Lord Jesus Christ! God is moving because my mom and I have prayed and prayed to find a congregation of real believers. So praise the Lord for that! However, I live in a state where the holy spirit is not in the church anymore. People just go to church for tradition. They don't live holy lives. Witches are everywhere, just out in the open. It's tough. My fiance, he thinks he can love God and not follow His commandments. He was raised Catholic. He is a very decieved person. He struggles a lot in his head. He's mentally tormented. Please pray for his salvation. I've been struggling for 2 years with this situation that I am in, between living with him and raising our kids and the spiritual battle that is going on between him and I. I'm having a hard time. I realize that I need to draw closer to the Lord as I feel this way. Many thanks and blessings to you all. I pray for Jesus to touch every heart that comes across this post. I pray for the Holy Spirit to move like never before. I pray for restoration, healing, peace and rest to come to you all and your families. God give them strength and help them in all aspects of their lives. May we all seek you for everything and put you above all. May we love you more and more everyday. Thank you Jesus for what you did on the cross for us. Thank you all. Amen.
Thank you for the clear teaching and it is a joy to listen to. as an ex-SDA, the 7th day sabbath became a burden for me because of all the imposed rules and it should never have been the case...
Claire Belle what are “SDA Rules”, I’ve been SDA since age 11 and I’m now 25...experienced sabbath keeping in 3 different countries. I’ve be never been subjugated to official “rules”. Many members keep the sabbath based on biblical principles and their consciences. Some follow EGW commentary for guidance but I still fail to see how her statements make it a burden. Nature walks, no fasting, encouragement to study, use Friday as our prep day if possible...how’s that a burden?! It sounds like you had a bad local church hurt experience.
Jesus is our salvation and because of the salvation Jesus gave us through his blood, we obey which means we observe and keep the law out of love not out of obligation. Keeping the law does not save us only Jesus can save us and has saved us but we know through Jesus's teachings that he wants us to obey and follow him, Jesus kept the law and explained it to us as well throughout the new testament. We can not obey the law through our own strength but only through God's strength. How do you show someone you love them? by doing things that brings them happiness, God tells you and Jesus shows you through his life and conduct how to bring happiness to God and he also told you what behaviour does not bring God happyness. The sabbath existed before the law was put in place Genies 2:2-3 says that he finished his work and on the seventh day he rested and God blessed the seventh day and made it holy because it was the day he finished his work of creation. Jesus says the sabbath was made for man not man for the sabbath also it says in scripture that the sabbath was the sign or mark between God and his people to show they are his and he is their God. Revelations even talks about the sabbath as well. All the first century Christians kept the sabbath and the sabbath never changes in the bible from Saturday to Sunday it was the catholic church that changed the day.
Note this from Ezek:23-24 "And in controversy they shall stand in judgment; and they shall judge it according to my judgments: and they shall keep my laws and my statutes in all mine assemblies; and they shall hallow my sabbaths." and Proverbs 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, EVEN HIS PRAYER SHALL BE AN ABOMINATION!
Are we breaking a command of God by gathering on Sunday? Have we elevated a tradition of man above the law of God? Currently wrestling with this and a scripture filled answer would help. Thanks for all your hard work, @Mike Winger
The apostles began worshipping on Sunday after the Resurrection. Jesus was with them for 40 days. He clearly was with them on Sat (in synagogues) and Sunday (w believers)... highly probable Jesus was with them while the church gathered and worshipped on Sunday. If there was an issue Jesus would've told them to stop. And it would've stopped. Also as Christians (redeemed) we are free to worship every day. If we pray without ceasing it is also worship. We worship God 247 as a believer, in basic existence as a transformed creature
@@HiThereHeyThere wow! Thanks for taking the time to share your perspective! Your comment is really helpful in sorting through the sabbath commandment and the Law in general. I arrived at the same conclusion because of the scriptures that talk about worshiping in spirit and truth regardless of the day and the scripture that talks about worshiping all the time everywhere by spiritual worship, that is presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice.
@@HiThereHeyTherenowhere does Scripture say the Apostles kept sunday as a sabbath. You are assuming. All they did was gather to eat together, to break bread. It never said they kept it as a sabbath. You are wrong!!
Mark this was outstanding presentation! Your portray about pharisees is precisely cut to not dismiss their knowledge or to hate their gots: because this could be us! Unwillingly and unnoticedly we can perform "Christianity" as they did "Law".
To comment on your question, "how many Jews have sat in the cold because they forgot to prepare for sabbath?"... It is a sin to foget to prepare for sabbath because God commands us to "remember the sabbath" and this means to prepare in advance and this is why friday is called preparation day (even in the Gospels). Remember the man who went out on the sabbath day to gather sticks in the Book of Numbers? God had him stoned and this is because the man did not take God seriously about remembering the sabbath, to prepare for it. It wasn't that he just messed up and forgot, it was that he did not take God seriously. Preparing for sabbath is something we learn as a way of life, it becomes a habit, just like keeping all of the commandments becomes a habit or way of life. Once in a while we mess up and must repent and this is where grace comes in, we are covered by the blood of Yeshua the Lamb of God, just like in ancient Israel we were covered by the blood of the literal lamb. However I will say that it is honorable to choose suffering over sinning, so if one fails to prepare then going without is a righteous decision. So sitting in the cold rather than building a fire would be honorable, except if it is dangerously cold, in which case one would just have to build a fire and repent for not preparing.
Jesus, the apostles, and Paul observed the weekly Sabbath throughout the entire New Testament. There is not a single verse that says anyone worshiped on Sunday or that the Sabbath has changed, Even in death Jesus observed the Sabbath by resting in the grave. He showed us what to do by modeling it, however most Christians today follow the Catholic church by worshiping on Sunday, the day of the Pagan sun god.
I'm only new to Jesus and feel like I have been convicted to keep the sabbath and honestly it is a blessing to have that day of rest. However it is difficult because so many Christians tell me I'm either trying to be saved by the law (I know I'm saved by faith not works) or it doesn't matter what day I make it (like it's somehow my decision which day to make Holy so I should just go along with it being Sunday worship). It does make things harder because working all week, Sabbath Saturday and shops closed Sundays means buying and selling are very difficult but I'm trusting in God to lead me his way

Walker Morgan 1 Corinthians 10: 23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. 24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth. 25 Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake: 26 For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof. 27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake. 28 But if any man say unto you, this is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof: 29 Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience? 30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks? 31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: 33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved If your conscience tells you to worship God on the sabbath as a means of glorifying God, then do so. If your conscience doesn’t bind you this way, then don’t worry about it. Don’t let yourself be judged by the conscience of another, and don’t judge them according to yours. It’s interesting how Paul approaches this: He has just commanded that we should not eat food offered unto idols, for the earth is Gods. But then he goes on to say that if you’re invited to eat at the home of unbeliever, don’t ask whether or not the food has been offered to idols, just eat it. But if the host tells you that the food is offered to idols, then don’t eat it, because now your conscience convicts you.
@@jaygee2187 Don't make someone else go astray just because you don't understand the Sabbath. None of those verses say "do whatever you want" regarding the Sabbath. God made the fourth commandment very clear. He said to remember it. It's sad how most Christians don't pay attention to God's word.
@@walkermorgan7678 Keep it up. You are doing what's right. Don't let anyone tell you that you are wrong about the Sabbath. Are you going to go by man's word or God's word? Hey Mike. I have no church that is good to attend for teaching/study. Thank you for this supplement. I'm subscribed and watching all your videos. I hope your channel reaches as many people as possible before TH-cam likely purges it for "hate speech". It would seem that they "hate" Gods word.
The rabbis created a hedge around the laws in case of us misinterpreting the law. What do you say of Jesus saying if we have anger in our hearts towards someone we are committing murder. Also looking at someone with lust in our hearts we are committing adultery? Also hedging? I have only just joined this Mark series. Evelyn here from South Africa. Also when he says it is written/have you not read, he never changes the written word, however when he says you have heard/it is said ...but I say ... Loving this teaching
what jesus was talking about wasn't hedging. he wasnt saying "just to be careful, treat it like this". he was saying that having those things in our hearts is just as bad as acting on them in the world.
Thank you for your ministry and I really enjoy your videos. What is the purpose of the 4 commandments. In my case y keep the Saturday Sabbath "a completed sunset to sunset. In recognition that God is my creator and the Creator of all. Jesus culminate He's redemption work on Friday and rest the Sabbath day. Agree that traditions buried the intention of God for the Sabbath. But the intention of God to us retirement, One day a week is a beautiful thing
Jesus always kept the Sabbath in life and even in death as a guide for us. These are some of the many verses about keeping the Sabbath in the New Testament: Mark 2:27 - And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath: (the Sabbath was made for ALL man, not just the Jews) Mark 2:28 - "Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.” Matthew 5:17-19 - Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill (become). Matthew 12:8 - For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” Luke 4:16 - And He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read. Hebrews 4:9 - There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. (The Sabbath) Luke 14:1 - Now it happened, as He went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees to eat bread on the Sabbath, that they watched Him closely. Luke 23:56 - And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the Sabbath day according to the commandment. Rev 22:14 - Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. (keep His commandments and we will be given eternal life) John 14:15 - If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Keeping a day is not the heart of the fourth commandment but it is basically having time with God, and we can do it every single day because if we are God's people then we should have the natural tendency that we should keep everyday holy for God because He is the Creator of all days.
No wonder that Paul called the law as the tutor for faith to come, and since faith is here, we are no longer under those laws but the law of Christ which is to love God, and to love one another, for love is the fulfillment of the Law. (Galatians 3) When you love God wholeheartedly, you will have this natural tendency to do anything that pleases Him like using His name not in name, having a day for Him.
The Sabbath benefits mankind. The Hebrews superimposed what exactly 'Rest' meant on themselves and that's what Jesus tried to change about it not the Sabbath itself. The Isreal leaders made it so that the rules became a burdensome traditions crippling people. God said rest and keep it holy but didn't detail it so therefore Jesus was showing them what exactly 'rest' and 'Holy' constitutes. These traditions still goes on in some parts of Africa today but not everywhere, as many are being deceived to give up their long practiced Sabbath for u biblical Sunday rest.
16:15 - Hehe, virtually _zero,_ because we've been keeping the Sabbath for thousands of years and know how to prepare for it. It may come as a shock that we don't forget every week that the Sabbath is coming! In fact, this was the Pharisees' main criticism of the Sadducees', who rejected the Oral Law and literally sat in darkness.
Anyone can go over the bound or over board about keeping a day. God told Joshua about not kindling a fire thoughout their inhabitance under the old covenant. It was for a reason.
The fire was pertaining to cooking, not electrical power starting a fire. It was talking about kindling a fire to cook with. Now we are not under that.
Making fire from scratch is harder then than we think, this is why Jesus shows us how to keep the Sabbath properly without breaking it. This way people don't starve because previously cooked meals go bad without fire to reheat. At times they let the coals stay hot so they don't have to start fire if it stay hot....
God claims to be the Lord of the Sabbath not the Lord of Sunday or any other day. We rest spiritually in Him because He kept the Sabbath and all the commandments for us. Thank You LORD.❤️📖🙏✝️
I think the two are not mutually exclusive. I’m religious and I have a relationship with God. You could be religious and have no relationship with God in which case it is a great tragedy. But I don’t think that you can have a relationship with God without believing things about God or having it change the way you live your life. And those things seem religious to me.
QUESTION: Possible interpretation of the Bread of Presence section .... Could it be that Leviticus said the bread was for Aaron and his sons, but they were ADDING to the law, always making it stricter by insinuating it was always ONLY for Aaron and his sons? Just like the Pharisees were relying on the addition to the law in interpreting that the disciples shouldn't pluck and "thresh" heads of grain in their hands? Jesus was bringing them back to the actual law instead of the additions and assumptions.
Most people think of pharisees and liberals as opposites, but really on the core mistake they're exactly the same. Because we're not doing a test. We're fighting a war. The pharisee says "I'm doing great against sin, so I don't have to fight it." The liberal says "I cannot win against sin, so I don't have to fight it." The reasoning is opposite, but the mistake is the identical. Both are trying to avoid the painful process of repentance.
We just rest, do bible study and spend time as a family! When u take the legalism out of it, you realise God just wants us to chill and think of Him xx

@@mathlearning2947 as a direct answer to your question I think if you 'went to work' on the Sabbath that would be the only thing that would be completely opposed to the 4th commandment. Honestly though, I worry that the mercy God showed in giving us a legitimate day off work a week will be twisted into something ugly when people get back to observing it... It is a day to rest and spend time with God...simple. If I had a job putside the home I would actually stand up for my right not to work a Saturday on religious grounds and offer to work a Sunday which most others dont want to work anyway...
Hello I am a Sda and I follow Mike's vids I will also like to hear him about it some day. But honestly what's he bring in this video is accurate. Probably he not covered the Time keeping "sunset to sunset on Saturday". Because the focus was on Mark chapter, about the burden the human traditions put on the sabbath.
@@Daggoth13 I have no problem with Christians who keep the traditional sabbath, as long as they don't think they are holier or more righteous than Christians who worship on Sunday.
Hello @@marcwolverson1186 and God bless. we believe keeping the Saturday Sabbath is part of the 10 commandments nothing more nothing less. Any body that thinks is above another person for their convictions of course is wrong.
My Jewish friend said that in the local orthodox synagogue they don't have rolls of toilet paper in the bathrooms because it's unlawful to tear paper on the Sabbath. Instead there are dispensers which dispense one sheet at a time. I suggested that it might be more work to pull numerous sheets than to make one tear. Logic apparently doesn't come into it.
This is an example of them adding to God's laws. That is what the Pharisees were doing and Jesus was rebuking them. Not for following God's laws or the prophets but for adding man-made laws to Gods laws.
It doesnt make sense. Jesus said he was Gods son and they(pharisees) say he was making himself equal to God by saying that. My son is not my equal. I am his father and he is my son but we are not equal. The term Father and Son is used to explain the relationship. However if i owned the earth then naturally everything would go to my son so my son basically owns the earth too. But never will he be my equal. Abraham was going to sacrifice his son Issac. His son was willing to be sacrificed. That illustration shows exactly what God did for us with HIS own son. Abraham and Isaac were not equal. Jesus would only be equal to God through inheritances. Jesus said "All Authority has been GIVEN me in heaven and on earth". "GIVEN ME". They are equal only in the sense of inheritance. Jesus also said his father is greater than he is in John 14:28. Jesus also said in John 20:17 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'" Many times he said he was sent. With all that said, Jesus is our Lord and our salvation is through him now so it is right to worship him(relative worship because we dont worship him for the things he didn't do but the Father has done). That's why in the book of Revelation the acts of worship are vocalized into words so we see the proper reasons of directed worship. We should honor him (listen and obey him) just as we honor the Father.
The scriptures clearly teach that Jesus is almighty God: John 1:1,3,14; 8:58; 14:9; 20:28; Colossians 2:9; Titus 1:3; Hebrews 1:8; 2Peter 1:1. The scriptures also clearly teach that there is only one God. The Son of God IS the same God as the Father, but the person of Yahweh that became man; fully man yet fully God who did not cling to His majesty, but willfully emptied Himself for death on the cross (Philippians 2:5-8). As the man Jesus He was subordinate to the Father just as all men are, but also as one of the three persons of Yahweh He willfully submits to the Father although in power and substance He is equal in every respect, because He's the same. When Isaiah saw the glory of the Lord in Isaiah 6:1-2, it was Jesus who he was beholding, as John lets us know in John 12:41; also Psalm 102:25-27 speaks of Yahweh, but the very same passage is applied to Jesus in Hebrews 1:10-12, because Jesus IS Yahweh.
Then there's the scripture I believe it's 1st Corinthians 7:3 but I'm not sure and I'm not to where I can look it up right now, but anyhow the scripture that says that the head of every woman is the man then Christ is the head over the man, then God is the head of Christ... This is a hierarchy of power which clearly shows that God is above Jesus in power, thus he cannot be God himself. This Trinity nonsense is really got many people discombobulated, and I'm glad to see that you have clear thinking on the matter... God bless!
@@iwantthetruthandnothingbut6521 Jesus is Yahweh so He has the same power because He's the same God; yet He willfully submits to the person of the Father. If He was lesser in power than the Father then He could not be the same God...which, when taken with other scriptures would mean there are two Gods...because Jesus is called God.
What do you make of the fact that the showbread was to be baked fresh every Sabbath (Leviticus 24:8-9)? Have you considered this in light of this study?
So I am an SDA, and I used to be really legalistic about keeping the Sabbath: following all the stuff attached to it in the Mosaic law. But then I realized that I wasn't being consistent when I believed we didn't have to keep the other sabbaths, so I no longer keep it to the letter. However I still don't see where the seventh-day Sabbath is done away with. Wasn't it instituted on creation, just like male-female marriage centuries before Moses? We go back there when we talk about same sex marriage, so I think to be consistent we'd talk about the Sabbath too. Now I'm not saying you have to keep it to be saved, but just like baptism by immersion and following the rest of the 10 commandments, shouldn't we be doing so too? Also common misconception is we think Sunday worshippers are apostates. I don't believe it's wrong to go to church on Sunday, I even think it's good and have gone to church on Sunday myself. I believe the issue is about those that call Sunday the Sabbath. Isn't that teaching a man-made tradition, seeing that it's not instituted in the scripture?
We both know there is no Scripture that says the Sabbath was changed to Sunday. And God is calling His people to come out of apostasy and the Sunday Church's that follow the Papacy in the One World Religion. As an SDA, you should know this.
@@godistruth3411 and I do know this. Sorry, I'm not so sure what your comment is supposed to mean. It's sounds like you're saying that I said something wrong.
@@The-End-is-coming If people continue to go to Church on Sunday when the Mark of the beast is enforced, they will take the Mark and lose salvation. You said you see nothing wrong with Sunday worship and they are not apostates; which they are, they follow the Papacy.
@@godistruth3411 I said I don't see worshipping on Sunday as a sin, second I said my issue is with calling Sunday Sabbath. If worshipping/going to church on Sunday is a sin then the disciples sinned because they met and worshipped daily. Obviously worshipping on Sunday is not wrong. My view on eschatology is that during that point in time, i.e. the first angel's message, God is clearly declaring to all people that they have to keep ALL of His commandments. If one is truly saved at that point in time, when they hear clear and obvious revelation, they will obey. If they don't, then they were never saved to begin with. I don't think the Bible teaches you can lose your salvation willy-nilly, and God's true people will listen and obey when that time comes.
@@godistruth3411 just in case I didn't make it clear, the apostasy isn't worshipping on Sunday. It is calling Sunday the Sabbath despite of clear Biblical teaching otherwise. It is putting man's tradition over God's. Similar to what the Pharisees were doing with adding their own sabbatical laws on top of God's.
Mike, as a man you cancel the keeping of the Sabbath commandment of God and as He said “remember the Sabbath day to keep it Holy” but you forgot it and do your own tradition on Sunday.
About the apostles being accused of working when they were harvesting grains to eat as they walked along: if that is considered work, what about the work it takes to bring a utensil up to your mouth as you are eating? Were they not allowed to feed their animals on the Sabbath? Seems like you could take any little activity and call it work.
So it is ok to work for money, just to buy and add more junk to your inventory? But to work for understanding, for knowledge, for protection from those who come to steal, kill and destroy, for all those things we suffer from. You know like plagues, disasters etc.. Let's not work for the love of God or family, not even for our community or nation's benefit. Just stay selfish. By going to "the Law" for understanding who God is, what we need to do, find out who we are, or to know our Saviour is wrong because all that information comes from "the Law". We can't go to the Father and do what He teaches, we can only do what we think we know from the N.T.? The Father and The Son are One. We can learn and DO what we can from the O.T., Prophets, and N.T.. It is the doers of The Word that become overcomers. Stop teaching if we obey The Father we work for our salvation. There is many things we need to work for. But salvation isn't one of them. Just as those who try to teach death is part of life, to just get over it. Lies, preacher who try to teach what they don't know. What is work? To explore the O.T. is a pleasure and to do what it teaches is exciting. If it is work for you, then rest from it on the Sabbath, if you know when that is.

It was a violation of the Sabbath because they were gathering food, which is considered "work" according to Torah (see the example given to Israel by the Lord straight out of Egypt, when they were to gather mana for 6 days and rest on the 7th ). But it was lawful/ not a sin for the same reason that David was allowed to eat the showbread, which was not lawful for him to eat. That is, David was the Lord's 'anointed' which means if God puts it on his heart it is lawful. The Son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath. Which means that if you are alive in Christ and His Words are alive in you, all is lawful according to your conscience. Like eating pork, or doing labor on the Sabbath, or celebrating Christmas. As it is written: "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath"
I remember a college roommate who was Jewish and knew other Jews who paid Gentiles to come and turn on lights and prepare meals. What does God say about causing others to sin?
Jesus' words about the Sabbath being for man, and man not for the Sabbath draws the parallel of Christ Jesus being OUR Sabbath. He IS our rest, He is the fulfillment of what the Sabbath represented!
"Jesus is our Sabbath rest" where in scripture can I find it saying exactly that? Also, would Jesus being our Sabbath rest nullify observing the seventh day Sabbath?
@@wesleyogilvie8105 Consider Paul's words here: "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, OR of the sabbath days: Which are a SHADOW of things to come; but the body is of Christ." (Colossians 2:16-17) The many Sabbaths and feasts of the Old Testament were designed by God to typify Christ who is the fulfillment of said 'shadows'...
@@justkenzie I don't doubt that this feasts all point to The Messiah, that's why I keep them with a cheerful heart, but does that verse say they were done away it? Here's a better question, have the fall feasts (Trumpets, Atonement and Booths) been fulfilled yet? If so, show me how they were fulfilled. The spring feasts (Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits and Pentecost) were all prophetic of His first coming, and the fall feasts are all prophetic of His second coming. Unless Christ came back for a second time already and I missed it, can we say that all has been fulfilled? Even after Christ's second coming, all the nations will be keeping the feasts (read Zechariah 14:16) and the new moons and sabbath (Isaiah 66:22-23). What God has sanctified will be sanctified forever. I hope this helps.
I agree Grace and repentance and believing is the key to salvation. But is it not written, show me your faith without works and I'll show you my faith by my works, Do you see (H)that faith was working together with his works, and by (I)works faith was made [d]perfect?, you know my people by their fruit/works, and faith without works is dead faith. Just something to think about.
The pharisees kept harassing Jesus about the laws. Jesus said, "the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath, if an ox fell in a ditch, would you not go to save it, did not Davids men eat the show bread". People can easily make bad laws, but the debate of it's righteousness should be among the people. People and circumstance comes before the law, not visa versa .
This microphone is almost too sensitive / detailed. It picks up mouth noises and sibilance that the old one didn't. Maybe point toward chest or throat instead of face.
That’s interesting, at the 1hr mark, a light bulb came to me. We are all to some degree self righteous especially when we make the claim that we have the correct interpretation and so on and so forth. By default, a prejudice is casted on any other viewpoint and the zeal that others have based on that viewpoint is often judged as well. “Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?” Romans 2:1-3 NKJV Yes, in context, Paul is referring to a myriad of sinners but we all know we all fall short. So this applies to anyone. “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23 NKJV The point is, we display self righteousness when we think we know what is right without looking in the mirror first. A scripture that is harmonious to the first is: “For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:2-5 NKJV
How Easley men change things to their own convenience , traditions that they enjoy and it doesn’t matter if they are good for all, they even change time back and forth, remove or add days to the year calendar, and Saturday changed for Sunday to do as they please. Oh! Foolish men! Even God’s Grace for salvation has been polluted with our works added to it. Repent and read the truths and commands of God’s that lead to salvation in Him.
no one changed saturday for sunday. christians just chose to gather on sundays for worship because that is the day that Christ was resurrected. the sabbath had nothing to do with it.
Hi Mike just as man was not made for the Sabbath, but the Sabbath for man; so also the man was not made for the woman, but the woman for the man.

John 10v31 I and my father are one.
John 14v15 If ye love me, keep my commandments
1 John 5v3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
@@jaygee2187 Thanks Jay. Thankfully it's not a salvation issue. We will have to disagree in love. God bless.
Wow Mike, Glory to God! That was well said!!

Calvinism does the same thing. They hold their traditions above God's word and nullify the intent as they miss the heart of it. ❤
Nathan, that is interesting. Can you elaborate a little on this for an ignorant person such as myself, brother? I have never fully understood Calvanism. Thanks.
Col2:8
See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ.

@@stephenreid7043 your welcome. I'm glad it was helpful brother. I think calvinism is far from the only tradition that does this.

Hi Taylor! I came across your post. I understand you. I want to let you know that you're not alone. The love of God is there for you. Many years ago I used to date a Christian girl I love her for her values, but I was not not a Christian. I used to make fun of her sometimes I was mean , I got to the point that I cheated on her. She used to pray for me a lot and I will laugh at it. Eventually we had a baby but that wasn't enough to change me. One day my wife walk off on me and divorce me. I lost my house I lost my job and then after she left God came to my life. And when God came to my life I fell down on my knees and cry and cry and cry and cry so much. Because I realized that I was blind and now I can see... Spiritually. I repented and I try to gain her trust but it was too late. Through the pain of the divorce I learned how holy is marriage. I understood the significance of family I understood the sacrifice on the cross. You going through this at 23 I was 35! 😩. Yep a grown-up man. Please you need to be connected to a body you need to go to church and get a good group of friends people that would be your pillars of faith. No matter what happens with this be faithful to God trust his wisdom. There is a lot to learn not only as a relationship or also as a human as a woman as a Christian. To this day I think my ex-wife for leading me to Jesus. Even though I lost my home and my family, my heart belongs to God and not pain not suffering not defeat. My divorce was the consequences of sin. And I learned my lesson. Be faithful to the Lord ,and wait ,that's the hardest. But you on the right path. God bless you and I'll be praying for. There's a book called the five languages of love. It's a very good broken help you to develop a good relationship with your kids. And eventually wear your husband . I will be praying for you . And you're not alone!!!! God is with you. ;

@psymike there are a lot of things they believe that they conveniently fail to disclose because they know that it makes them look cultish
Amen ! Thank you for sharing these thoughts on this portion of Scripture !
Can you touch on Sabbath (Saturday) as its observed in Israel vs America.

32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved
If your conscience tells you to worship God on the sabbath as a means of glorifying God, then do so.
But if the host tells you that the food is offered to idols, then don’t eat it, because now your conscience convicts you.

what jesus was talking about wasn't hedging. he wasnt saying "just to be careful, treat it like this". he was saying that having those things in our hearts is just as bad as acting on them in the world.

Agree that traditions buried the intention of God for the Sabbath.
But the intention of God to us retirement, One day a week is a beautiful thing
Jesus always kept the Sabbath in life and even in death as a guide for us. These are some of the many verses about keeping the Sabbath in the New Testament:
Mark 2:27 - And he said unto them, The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath: (the Sabbath was made for ALL man, not just the Jews)
Mark 2:28 - "Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath.”
Matthew 5:17-19 - Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill (become).
Matthew 12:8 - For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
Luke 4:16 - And He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
Hebrews 4:9 - There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. (The Sabbath)
Luke 14:1 - Now it happened, as He went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees to eat bread on the Sabbath, that they watched Him closely.
Luke 23:56 - And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the Sabbath day according to the commandment.
Rev 22:14 - Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. (keep His commandments and we will be given eternal life)
John 14:15 - If you love Me, keep My commandments.
The New Covenant didn't begin until Jesus was resurrected. The old testament was still in effect until jesus died.

Ps Mike please help me to know on which day is the Sabbath. Is going to church on a Sunday the Sabbath. I want to know your view
Why worship on Sunday when worship as been held on Saturday’s?
Romans 14: 1-12
16:15 - Hehe, virtually _zero,_ because we've been keeping the Sabbath for thousands of years and know how to prepare for it. It may come as a shock that we don't forget every week that the Sabbath is coming! In fact, this was the Pharisees' main criticism of the Sadducees', who rejected the Oral Law and literally sat in darkness.
Shabbat Shalom my Friend
Do What Jesus Did!
Referring to the word animosity at 39:42 in the timeline, would antipathy be more suitable?
Jesus never broke the sabbath because He is sinless! Amen!
Anyone can go over the bound or over board about keeping a day. God told Joshua about not kindling a fire thoughout their inhabitance under the old covenant. It was for a reason.
“We should not be afraid of cultural issues, but we should see them as areas where our cult needs help”
Hi again, Mike... so glad to see this video back online! :)

I think the two are not mutually exclusive. I’m religious and I have a relationship with God. You could be religious and have no relationship with God in which case it is a great tragedy. But I don’t think that you can have a relationship with God without believing things about God or having it change the way you live your life. And those things seem religious to me.

@@rebeccajonesy but they love there personal interpretation here on this subject is what i see
QUESTION: Possible interpretation of the Bread of Presence section ....
The pharisee says "I'm doing great against sin, so I don't have to fight it."
The liberal says "I cannot win against sin, so I don't have to fight it."
The reasoning is opposite, but the mistake is the identical. Both are trying to avoid the painful process of repentance.
We get so caught up in these little idioms. 😊
Hey mike, so that's why it was changed to serve on Sunday?
I don't know how to keep the Sabbath now but everyone must keep it! - Sabbath Keepers
We just rest, do bible study and spend time as a family! When u take the legalism out of it, you realise God just wants us to chill and think of Him xx
@@helenbrown8572 can you ever break the Sabbath?
@@mathlearning2947 yes...don't buy ,sell or trade is the best know scriptures for us.and of course rest and set that day aside for the lord ,if you do break it you do have grace through the messiah.
SHALOM
Work six days and rest on the seventh day. Do no work on it, nor cause others to work on The Sabbath. Have you read the ten commandments at all?
@@mathlearning2947 as a direct answer to your question I think if you 'went to work' on the Sabbath that would be the only thing that would be completely opposed to the 4th commandment.
Honestly though, I worry that the mercy God showed in giving us a legitimate day off work a week will be twisted into something ugly when people get back to observing it...
It is a day to rest and spend time with God...simple.
If I had a job putside the home I would actually stand up for my right not to work a Saturday on religious grounds and offer to work a Sunday which most others dont want to work anyway...
Could you do a talk on Seventh Day Adventists please.
God was really talking about building a fire to cook with ,not about pushing a button to light it up. 😊
Does Mark 3:4 make both actions active: doing something, but ignoring also?
My Jewish friend said that in the local orthodox synagogue they don't have rolls of toilet paper in the bathrooms because it's unlawful to tear paper on the Sabbath. Instead there are dispensers which dispense one sheet at a time. I suggested that it might be more work to pull numerous sheets than to make one tear. Logic apparently doesn't come into it.
This is an example of them adding to God's laws. That is what the Pharisees were doing and Jesus was rebuking them. Not for following God's laws or the prophets but for adding man-made laws to Gods laws.
This is listed on the website Mike mentioned, Orthodox Union.
Jesus also said in John 20:17 'I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.'"
Many times he said he was sent.
That's because they knew exactly what he meant by saying that.
@@The-End-is-coming
If people continue to go to Church on Sunday when the Mark of the beast is enforced, they will take the Mark and lose salvation.
Good grief! This was SO, SO good!!!!!!
Mike, as a man you cancel the keeping of the Sabbath commandment of God and as He said “remember the Sabbath day to keep it Holy” but you forgot it and do your own tradition on Sunday.
Colossians 2 16
@@BelovedDisciple07 that is not what that verse means
I SOOOO wish calvary chapel would hear this.
Calvary does to marriage what the pharisees did to the sabbath.

This is similar to the Catholic church traditions. pray for them to come out...
The parallels between the Catholic traditions and the Pharisaical traditions are shocking.
Hi ! What do you mean
Mike Winger is a lot like the Catholic Church, both under the law of Sunday, both under law of eating Abomination pork. Law of keeping pagan holidays for the world. Law going against the god of Israel.
the disciple what are you talking about?
@@rob2250 mike winger serves god the same way as the Catholics, men's traditions.not gods word .saying they are under them laws , was a sarcastic joke.
"We should feel anger and grief..." that's good.
We are not under the law but no one has a problem with obeying the other nine, why not the fourth too? A bit inconvenient for you I guess.
What are your thoughts on Joshua Harris?
He was a big name in Christianity - now he completely rejects it
It was a violation of the Sabbath because they were gathering food, which is considered "work" according to Torah (see the example given to Israel by the Lord straight out of Egypt, when they were to gather mana for 6 days and rest on the 7th ).
As it is written:
"The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.
The fourth commandment is part of God's unchanging immutable holy law.
God is truth if a stranger within the gates of your city is working on the sabbath, have you broken the law?
"Jesus is our Sabbath rest"
where in scripture can I find it saying exactly that? Also, would Jesus being our Sabbath rest nullify observing the seventh day Sabbath?
@@wesleyogilvie8105 Consider Paul's words here:
"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, OR of the sabbath days: Which are a SHADOW of things to come; but the body is of Christ." (Colossians 2:16-17) The many Sabbaths and feasts of the Old Testament were designed by God to typify Christ who is the fulfillment of said 'shadows'...
Great teachings like always
Good message❤

That’s interesting, at the 1hr mark, a light bulb came to me. We are all to some degree self righteous especially when we make the claim that we have the correct interpretation and so on and so forth. By default, a prejudice is casted on any other viewpoint and the zeal that others have based on that viewpoint is often judged as well.
“Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth against those who practice such things. And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?”
Romans 2:1-3 NKJV
Yes, in context, Paul is referring to a myriad of sinners but we all know we all fall short. So this applies to anyone.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
Romans 3:23 NKJV
The point is, we display self righteousness when we think we know what is right without looking in the mirror first.
A scripture that is harmonious to the first is:
“For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.”
Matthew 7:2-5 NKJV
How Easley men change things to their own convenience , traditions that they enjoy and it doesn’t matter if they are good for all, they even change time back and forth, remove or add days to the year calendar, and Saturday changed for Sunday to do as they please. Oh! Foolish men! Even God’s Grace for salvation has been polluted with our works added to it. Repent and read the truths and commands of God’s that lead to salvation in Him.
Colossians 2 16
no one changed saturday for sunday. christians just chose to gather on sundays for worship because that is the day that Christ was resurrected. the sabbath had nothing to do with it.
