-Weird rules quirk:- -Partner With is not a search effect! You put the other card into your hand from your library and shuffle, if you choose to do so. This means it’s not stopped by effects like Opposition Agent.- This is just wrong, I'll be confronting my source about this >:(. Thank you for the correction @roxannekrogh4228
@@Dawn_Cavalier No, it is a search effect - rule 702.124f says "The other ability represented by “partner with [name]” is a triggered ability that means 'When this permanent enters the battlefield, target player may search their library for a card named [name], reveal it, put it into their hand, then shuffle their library.'". The reminder text only says "put" to shorten things, since reminder text isn't rules text.
I will say that this is my fault, I was given a ruling way back when battlebond first came out, that the shuffle was a separate effect than the search, so i've been spreading that rule wrongly.
Yeah same here, we banned sol Ring for that reason too, people get salty because of Mana crypt but sol Ring is okay? No thanks 😁 I kept the precons as they are, and just switched the sol rings for some other set cards, just to avoid these kind of games, on top of that, the sauron deck is full of gas, every turn they spew out the next splashy thing no need for that from turn 3 on
Not sure how i feel about this one. I feel like the threat assessment didn't address the actual threat, which was always Eric, but that's why it's so hard to do.
Gandalf is pretty cool, but not in the precon itself. I think there's only like what, 13 cards in the deck that could trigger him? Put him in a deck built around it and you've got some good soup, but as is he'd be certain to disappoint.
The Elf and Mordor precons didn't support their secondary commanders that well, it's weird that they switched commanders. To be fair, the Mordor deck went in too many directions regardless of the commander...
I think they're both interesting in their own way. Precon decks usually force players out of their respective comfort zones, and it's interesting to see how they adapt to them, especially if it's their first time piloting the deck.
@@DarkEinherjar i guess, but so many other channels already put out videos of the precons, that i feel like its more interesting to see their own take on the decks.
I can’t see myself ever playing Gandalf as a commander. To be honest, that deck feels like the weakest of the 4. Nice video, though. Glad to see the forces of evil take the win!
Why do you now put he/him next to names ? Why should we care about the sexuality and gender of the hand we see moving cards on the board ? That woke culture is everywhere
The search effect from Partner With is a "may" effect. You can't force an opponent to search and shuffle.

@@Dawn_Cavalier Well, even if we disregard what the rules say, in order to put a card into your hand from the library, you have to search for it... 😅

Who would've thought that a player with 8 mana on turn 3 would run away with the game...
That's why my play group have banned sol ring

Merry creates a 1/1 White soldier token with lifelink, not a halfling tolkien
i was gunna say, he should have gotten the lifelink soldiers giving him that 1 life every block
This would have been such an unbelievably broken Sauron Lord of the Rings game if he had used that instead. Having enough mana to cast it turn 3 lmao
Eric actually said that as well. He regretted not swapping after seeing his opener, haha!
More lord of the rings pls ❤

This set is actually pretty cool a lot of the art and flavor really came through

I’d like to see the deck list for this game
They are literally precons
May I have a copy/link of the Saruman deck please, mr. Muddstah? (if its not the 100% precon deck)
These are all precons
I was excited for this game until turn two, not going to waste my time finishing it. I'm off to watch another one of your vids🎉
What was so spicy about turn-2 that turned you off ?
@@kittymcjesus149having 7 mana at the end of turn two
Where is Thursdays video 🥺
I need these precons and the entire set so badly... 😢
Why does merry coming in make him shuffle?
Multiple turns not using the galdriels mirror
Yeah, this is exactly what happens if you throw sol ring into each precon...
The armies of Isengard…not Mordor
1:13 and what???😂
What?!?! Muddstah not playing goblins?!?!
Eowyn was such a disappointment
How
Gandalf is group hug done wrong so I hope you did better in the other game
Don't wanna be that guy, but i think its way more interesting seeing original decks from the set then precons ...

I played Galadriel in the first game which, depending on how long I take to recover, will hopefully be up soon.
