Hi James, you’re right! There were a lot of kayaks out that day in June. With winter being so long, residents in Ottawa take advantage of good weather when they can! We are happy to share more of the Rideau Canal as we make our way south towards Kingston to cross our wake. Thanks for watching!😎
Enjoying reliving our 2019 Loop. Few of the many Loop videos feature the Redeau. It was my favorite. Especially fond memories of Merrickville... national champion gelato ... best I've ever had.. including what I had in 3 trips to Italy.

A fantastic video. I don't guess the water level varies much on this river as the walls were very low. Two great universities in a large metro areas seem so well maintained and so inviting. I can see why Canadians are so proud of their heritage. Enjoy
The water level is fairly consistent until end of August when it naturally starts to drop. It is controlled by Parks Canada who monitor levels through the season. For winter the canal level is lowered to allow parts to be cleared for ice skating. Thanks so much for watching this episode Buck!😎
Just back from Sydney. This was a great video detailing one of the most scenic urban cruises on the Rideau. It brought back many memories of cruising here with the kids. One of the real features of the Rideau Canal is overnighting at the locks. Each one is distinctly different, well kept and you meet the nicest people. Keep up the great work!
