    Thats the nicest yzf 750 R ive ever seen, the black frame suits it, along with that colour scheme,.i had a 95 one in red/white/black the only slight trouble i had with that was with the carb emulsion tubes wearing out causing bad fueling ,. that can sounds sweet to, i bought my bike new in 95 for £8550 and px,d it for a 2000 R7 owo2, got £2000 for it against £11000 R7, good deal back in 2004 ish, still got the R7 worth around the £20k mark now,. plus i like your workshop ,very neat and tidy along with your workmanship,.keep up the good work,.

      Hi Mike, Great comment my friend. Cheers. 👍 An R7 you say...! awesome. I have never even seen one in the flesh so to speak. They had a very short production run I believe.
      What a great investment. Thanks again .👍

      @@johnsnowsghost lol yes very short and now Yamaha acts like that bike never existed coming out with this little R7 thing 700cc and 2 cylinders I think the real R7 and the YZF 750 would ride rings around it lol

    Springtime ritual; careful prep and attention to everything then disappointment. I'm convinced bikes are programmed for this...just so we don't get too pleased with ourselves 🙂. Does adding a little choke during the rough tick over clear things or make it worse? Will it start right up again once it stops (heat playing with ignition components)? I've checked whether my cooling system responds to extra airflow (temps drop as expected) by pointing a large box fan at the radiator. In my experience the manuals never seemed to cover my issues and I ended up trying a little of everything. Good luck and let us know how the troubleshooting goes. Steve

      Hi Steve. I think bikes can have a kind of personality sometimes. Some bikes, no matter how much your pamper them and lavish them with gifts ,still kick you in the cahones...:)
      I am hoping it is something daft obviously. Adding choke made things worse,and she did start straight up after stalling with a bit of throttle feathering.
      I am gonna try hot wiring the two radiator fans and manually switching them on when she gets to around 70 C. If that works I will replace the thermo switch for the fans ,which is a cheap fix .
      Your right about the manuals though always a bit vague as far as trouble shooting goes. Trying this and that can be frustrating , although it is a good feeling if you figure it out and you wouldn`t want to be paying someone else to do it.
      I will let yawl know how it goes.👍

    Dang, that bike is clean. The battery compartment looked meticulous. I didn't hear your fuel pump prime when you turned the key with it plugged in. Also, I was thinking the idle sounded strange but I think it may just be because your fairings are off and it's a different exhaust than my setup. Definitely heard it struggling when you were talking about that, though. Also, mind the fact that the headlights act a bit like a ballast and will lower your RPMs almost by 100 when they're plugged in and on. I remember trying to tune mine and struggling because my idle kept rising. I troubleshooted for days, looking for intake leaks, etc. until I realized that my headlights were unplugged. After that, she purred at 1,100RPM and didn't need any further adjusting.

      Hi Jake. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Much appreciated bud.
      Turned out one of the HT leads was corroded in the core. New coils sorted her out.
      Thats a good tip about the headlights. cheers for that. Ride safe. Good luck from Ireland.🍀

      The bike has been jetted and tuned for the can. Rode it around for last three summers , no bother. Thanks for the suggestion though.

    So So glad you have had your problem "SORRY" Its just that I always think its just me when these things happen especially post storage I have a love hate relationship
    with all my bikes 10 in number I think I should just have one and then its one problem not 10 ???? but I sadly just love them to bits every god dam one of them but I also
    hate every one of them when they play me up and by god they do !!!! I have a few Yzf's not as nice as yours but still ok bikes and by the way in my humble opinion these
    were one of the best sports bikes ever made over shadowed by the blade sadly because a lot of riders never got to experiance what these machines were like and I am sure you
    will agree they are something else in every sense of the word every bit as good if not better than the famouse Fire Blade which was also a good bike I hasten to add !!!
    To date I have not riden as good an all rounder I really have not appart from the V.F.R. 750 which does come close and probably a little more comfy but not a lot and does
    not stack up when it comes to out and out speed/handling It also falls short in the looks department The YZF I guess is now a little dated but it does still look the part
    even in its 15/20 odd years /clothing Abike not to be forgoten and if you have one not to be sold !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the up load made for interesting viewing thankyou !!!

    I hope you got it sorted, beautiful bike! What rear sets and can are on yours? Another suggestion, is it plugs/ht/coil breaking down when getting really hot?

    • @johnsnowsghost
      @johnsnowsghost  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello bud, sorry for the late reply. I think you are going to be spot on with your diagnosis.
      I checked the coils a couple of days ago, and got some weird readings, plus, the HT lead cores are badly degraded at the cap end. I have some new coils on order, hope that sorts it. I will post a short video if that happens.
      The rear sets were on the bike when I got it. They have what looks like the letters RME stamped on them, and it says " Made in Italy". They seem like nice quality.
      Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment. 😎👍

    Where did you get the coils from mate. Cheers John

    • @johnsnowsghost
      @johnsnowsghost  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John. I got the coils on Ebay. Seller...Legend Motorcycles...£39.95.
      They seem good quality, but the terminals are slightly different than oem.
      It is a bit of a squeeze to connect the two wires, but not a big problem.
      Hope this helps bud.😎
