    I just did mine 2 weeks ago what a great improvement. Inner fender is easy and you DO NOT need to remove the outer trim .

    • @QuickReviews615
      @QuickReviews615  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I tried to get the inner fender out without removing the outer trim but wasn't able to remove one or two of the plastic rivet clips so I pulled the outer trim out enough to get access to the plastic rivet clips without removing it completely.

      @@QuickReviews615 yes a couple of them at the top are partially coverd but was able to work them out. It's very easy to get too when that's out of the way.

    This is by far the best tutorial for the Santa Cruz LED bulb upgrade. Don't bother messing with the fenders though, you don't need to. You could end up scratching or scuffing them and it's not necessary. Thanks for the great tutorial!

    • @QuickReviews615
      @QuickReviews615  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I appreciate that and agree that don't need to bother with the fender flairs.

      @@QuickReviews615They look fantastic now, and it's such an inexpensive upgrade! I have the 2023 Night trim level. It sounds like the 2024 version will come with the LEDs from what I've read. Thanks again!

But I ended up asking my young neighbor to twist out the halogen bulbs, even he admitted they were super tight. Your fingers must be producing 100++ lb of torque vs mine.😂

      How are you are enjoying the new lights!
      Regarding, lights being too bright, I don't think that is an issue with the Santa Cruz since the lights are mounted so low on the body and don't point up. I've noticed in traffic at night that cars (not trucks) next to me headlights are higher up on the car in front of them than mine.
      Yes, it did take some effort to get them out. I'm assuming they wanted a tight seal to keep moisture out. Glad you had a neighbor who could help you out!

    • @QuickReviews615
      @QuickReviews615  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I tried that too, but the seal on the cap is pretty tight and you can only access one side. I didn't have the strength to lossen it from avove. The other must be access via inner fender or you'll have to remove parts in the engine bay.

    How do these LEDs perform in rain and on wet roads? My last vehicle had white LEDs and the wet roads practically absorbed the light.

    • @QuickReviews615
      @QuickReviews615  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I think that is a condition of the rain reflecting the light off the road as I've had the same issue with other cars. To answer your question they work great in the rain and wet roads as they pick up the reflective lines really well. But if the road isn't marked, the light just bounces off and is more difficult to see.

    I just switched out my Santa Cruz halogens for LEDs. It wasn’t difficult to remove the fender liners at all. They flex easily so you DO NOT have to mess with the wheel arch trim. The most difficult part was opening the lids and twisting out the bulbs. Mine were very tight which is why you’d never achieve the leverage required by trying this from inside the engine compartment. People should not be intimidated by this process. It’s not difficult. If you are slow as molasses it shouldn’t take more than 45 minutes. If you’re good at tinkering on things you could complete the process in 10-15 minutes. I have trim removal tools but never used them. A small flathead screwdriver will pop up the centers on the plastic push-fasteners which can then be removed with fingers. The plastic nut is hand tight requiring no tools. It all reassembles with fingers. How much easier can it be? The upgrade is well worth it.
