This broadcast is seriously a throwback to the days of the Cold War. As a kid, I can remember being fascinated by the fact that such groups as "Radio Free Europe" were broadcasting into those countries locked behind the "Iron Curtain." A true propaganda war of the airwaves.
Thank you ! I just stumbled on your channel. I am curious about your antenna. It has been a hot minute I have not seen anyone using a rhombic antenna. I presume we are talking about a real homemade rhombic. I'd love a video about it, I browsed your entire channel and missed that. I'm curious about the hardware as well, location, I presume you have big open field at your disposal? what is the height you put your antenna at ? I'm also curious since it's usually a fixed, non routed antenna, so you just decided to always point towards asia ? or you have another system in place, I'm very curious, I really enjoy that you post your findings here.
Yes, the antenna used here is a Rhombic I built on the property. Among other antennas, I have three Rhombics, each pointed in a different direction, one towards China / north Asia, one towards the south Pacific, and one towards Europe. This signal was recorded on the one pointed towards China. Yes, they are all three home made, installed over a period of 3 years. The largest is ~410 feet apex to apex, the shortest is ~300 feet apex to apex. And yes, i have a fair bit of room for antennas here in the desert. In difference to the high winds we get here, the antennas are far from optimal height, about 36 feet on average.
Subscribed. Cold War veteran here... fascinated by the evolution of communist Russia, China and of course, north korea.

Makes me feel compelled to 'march up & down the square' and hungry at the same time.
Gotta love that voice of career

In the South Korean consulate in Hawaii, it says Korea, not S. Korea.
