- J Dilla - Trashy
R.I.P. Jay Dee!
James Dewitt Yancey (February 7, 1974 February 10, 2006), better known by the stage names J Dilla and Jay Dee, was an American Grammy Nominated record producer who emerged from the mid-1990s underground hip hop scene in Detroit, Michigan.
Yancey's career began slowly. He has now become highly regarded, most notably for the production of critically acclaimed albums by Common, Busta Rhymes, A Tribe Called Quest, and The Pharcyde. He was a member of Slum Village for their acclaimed debut album Fantastic, Vol. 2.
In the early 2000s, Yancey's career as a solo artist began to improve; A solo album Welcome 2 Detroit was followed by a collaborative album with California producer Madlib, Champion Sound, which catalyzed the careers of both artists. Just as his music was becoming increasingly popular, Yancey died in 2006 of the blood disease TTP.

Honestly if I was losing my mind this is all I’d need to hear. He makes so much sense to the emotional. The blueprints of conscious energy. He just had so much music idk what life or music would be like if he still had effect. It’s like Nikola Tesla if what he said would’ve went. Anyways, I just find it so wild he made a lifetime of music I could exclusively only listen to Dillas beats for the rest of my life! If I wasn’t so moved to make music myself and if I had nothing else to do. It would be meditation astral projection and listening to dilla beats.
I get some infinity symbol movement vibes from this particular dilla instrumental
Love the kick drum
wishing i could just reverse them dislikes i know they aint mean to hit it. prolly fell or sumn

Brings a tear to my eye.. This one feels like.. IDK the perspective on how short life is and how beautiful & precious time is because of that
Simply genius. That reminds me of Basinski's loops. Could hear these for hours...

took me a while to find this on the tube...remember the beat but not the name...was determined lol
This is the one Dilla song I always associate with his death, and always makes me truly sad how such a gifted, beautiful musician can go so soon. R.I.P James Yancey, Jay Dee!!!
when i listen to this, all i wanna do is cry
Song takes me back 8-9 years ago, freshman year, the start of my trip... still tripping....
Happy Birthday JDilla! Rest In Beats!

Yo am i the only Dude that puts Dilla bets on cd just to later on act like he chief them joints just for me...when i heard he past away i had to go to the back of my note book and put a line through his name on my dream list of producers i hoped to one day work with. walking home listenin to DOOM
pullin on her hair while this dilla beat loops
my boy heard the track and asked what's the scoop, i tell him this shit is the essence of life so throw out ya strife and bob ya head to jay's sampling might
peeep n' creep!
starin at u from over the room
wishin my eyes had a zoom
the space cadet, take you to places that
you can't piece together but can never forget
it's like everything...all at the same time
and I'm fine feelin' dumb, feelin' def, feelin' blind
I don't give a fuck about a buck and a dime
I'd rather soak a microphone in buckets of rhymes
and feel good while I'm doin' it, and doin' it well
don't ring the victory bell, it's too soon to tell
I'm just rappin on beats to get you tappin your feet
you're buyin' diamonds when I'm rhymin, get a platinum receipt...
Like a early morning wind.
Bro listen to the source material where he took this from, this is actually a WILD flip even though it’s also quite subtle.
1. Think Twice
2. Trashy
3. Runnin (Pharcyde)
My microphone is like my therapist; I speak to it and it just listens
Searchin for a flow to call my own been thru several dimensions
Ive gotten several mentions
But forget the Notoriety
The mainstreams where I dont try to be
Ive set my mark underground and plan to stay here
Been through thorough sessions of studying shakespeare
Drank beer, slanged merely every type of dust in existence
But I still dont find the answers to stop me from retiring and earning pension
This burning tension that I am fencing
just might defeat me
I tried to vision life further than 3D
Left me blind, legally
Why couldnt the price to pay for mental elation just be for free?
They didnt consider the less fortunate
My peers told me my lyrics is the one thing that kept their worlds movin

WORD. ORGANIZED THREAT

Maimoun by Stanley Cowell

Mazing
how did you get the camera to follow your hands, everything about this video is perfectly shot
Go ahead... look at it... feel it,
and then breathe it in.
Analyze this dream witha fever,
and then concede again.
We'll be friends.
Leavin' forever without a second plan.
Cause second chances be damned.
The branches'll pan out.
They'll span around the Earth.
Leavin' people with damn doubts.
Standin' outta crowds.
Like a man with his hands down.
And that's how I see it.
Ain't no reason to ask how.
Please attack now.
'tis the season,
I'll back down.

This sounds extremely similar to Requiem in the Rebirth of Detroit album, any difference in the two that I might've missed?
Hey saw no one answered your question. No there is not difference other than the flute that’s played on Requiem.
It's the same beat
It’s the same beat although the requiem version has a flute added to it
@peace

I thought this track was called requiem
It is too
Best rap to this?
This ain't trashy at all
isn't this Requiem?
same instrumental, but Requiem has added flute by an artist named Allan Barnes (from Rebirth Of Detroit - 2013) → I dig the Requiem version better tbh, but this was the original (from Vintage: Unreleased Instrumentals - 2003 , which was just a compilation album as far as I'm aware, so this was probably made even earlier)
