So basically she wants you to give her everything back for free - sorry but I see the 'I want it so you should give it to me' attitude all the time and I don't have much sympathy for it. The flag, personal photos, etc. are fine. Everything else, keep. And THANK YOU for warning people not to reveal their home base info to these folks. You could be robbed, assaulted. You just don't know.
Why is it we only think the worse. She clearly said she'd buy some of her stuff back. She must have had a nice life before she was evicted. You can tell from her stuff. Packed orderly, she valued her possessions. She love music and was creative and talented, maybe she was into theatre with all those costumes. She seemed like an interesting valuable person. I have watched 100's of these storage unit videos and this one really bothered me. She was somebody worthwhiled. She was homeless for whatever reason, I couldnt imagine being homeless and now she lost her history and her memories. Nothing like being down on the ground and get kicked in the teeth. I say this only to remind you to be kind and don't loose you human connection. Think about it before you judge, what if it was your daughter. Wouldn't you want somebody to be kind to her. Why not you? Sorry for dumping on you.
My mom lost her house and then loat her storage unit. It is very hard to lose everything and to rebuild your life. I hope the woman is doing better. Thank you for sharing that letter.
Wade hats off to you!! Thank you for not making this a Jerry Springer moment and for not making assumptions, So many are only a paycheck away from being homeless themselves, not all homeless are drug addicts, Keep on Keepin On Friend.
The first unit I ever got I cried. The storage people would not give back personal items ect. I found out the man was in jail so in the paper work I found an obituary. Found out the half brother who is a pastor. I contacted his church and he was out of state. Got a call back from him and he said when his step dad and mom passed he did not get any of the photos. Well I saved them all for him. He and his wife would be back in our area in 2 weeks. I agreed. So during our yard sale his wife and him showed up and were so blessed to get the photos plus bought a couple things. He had his wife drive home because he was so excited to look at the pictures. 2 weeks later I get a thank you note from them that said That I will never know how much the pictures meant to him and his family and that maybe someday when his half brother gets his life together he will have something to give him. I would have never contacted them unless I felt it was ok. What a blessing it was to me. Also made a new friend. It just hurt to see all the pictures at the dumpsters on the ground. If I could have I would have picked them all up and tried to find the relatives. Well God Bless. I wish now I had the money to get his 2nd unit the guy had to save some more memories for this pastor.
I don't do the storage unit thing but I have fished personal photos out of the dumpster after an eviction and attempted to return them. Found a person whose number was there too and let them know. I held on to them for several years but no one wanted to come get them. I finally ended up putting them back in the same dumpster. Pictures of her little girl some of her just in diapers. So many reasons to get them out of the dumpster. It was sad to put them all back in. Also, a bit worrisome but what else could I do?
Wade, I hope you get to read this, I’m from Australia and am mostly bed bound. I watch a lot of storage picking and by far you and your wife are the nicest and most respectful people out of all the clips I watch and always love it when new ones come out,God bless you both and your Mum.

That was pretty nice of you to give that girl some of her meaningful yet inexpensive items. Most people would have thrown them out but that girl is a real person. Nice
I was paying on a storage unit for morr than 3 yrs. I hit some bad times and have lost it. There are tons if pictures and personal items that I would have loved to have back. I am so happy to hear that there are actually people that do give back things like that. You are great for doing that.
Wade what I like about you is your ability to have compassion along with a business mind . And why I watch you ! I see a lot of myself in your adventures lol I love digging for treasure it’s like Christmas . But I’d like to show you another side , when I was a kid all through growing up , we moved for my fathers work and slot of times mom would pack us kids up to grandmas when he’d go over seas . After loosing all my life I finally had my home and things I collected for 40 yrs thhen gone to a fire . You are such a big hearted person Wade! Not many would do that. I'm sure that woman deeply appreciated what you did! That was very humanitarian...a rare quality these days.
Glad to see you were safe and kind to her. No you owed her nothing and you never know if they are being truthful but it didn't take much for you to give her back what has no use to you. You have a heart.
Nice that you made an effort to give her back some of it. Possibly she was a costume designer or maker. Beautiful flute..always wanted to learn how to play a flute.
You have a huge heart Wade! I have so much respect for you! I did the same with the last 2 units I bought 😞 the managers told me the sad stories related to the units... my heart hurts for those who loose units!
To all of you out there my daughter had a storage for 5 years and after paying so much money at the end lost everything she cried for a couple of months but now she is not into objects and more into humanity and spiritual life. She learned her lesson.
This is why i like you guys its a business and you still go out of your way to be descent human beings to someone you don't know and with the world the way it is today it gives me a little hope that there is still good in the world so for that I Thank You
I had this happen, we lost everything and had to put our stuff in storage, we owed on unit, so we scrounged and borrowed to pay, but unfortunately it only covered what we owed and a few days, so we , finally had a place to go, and when I called the storage unit to square up, they had told me they auctioned it, without even telling us, I would love to know how to find the ppl that bought it, therefore some in replaceable items in there, so ideas wondering, how do the ppl find you that used to own the units?
I’m just glad to see there are people like y’all that enjoy doing that I enjoy watching it’s your business I am happy that you gave some of it back thank y’all
You are a good man Wade, you don't have to give anything back but you do. Mum and Ashley must be very proud of you. Love and hugs to you all Mary-Ellen UK
I love watching your videos because you are so REAL. You have your family helping which is awesome and you just seem like such a good person. So thank you for doing what you do and sharing it with us!!! ❤☺
I remember bidding on this unit when it was on Storage Treasures, back in later 2018. They took the listing down due to being paid up. Grats on the unit win!
Your pretty awesome to let her have a few things back, I can't imagine how she felt loosing all her stuff , I had my stuff in storage for 3 years , the last year of trying to pay was hard ! So glad I never lost all mine.
I laugh hard when wade tried to mimick grandmas voice for the yarns. I love grandma for watching her grandchildren whenever ashley is with wade at the storage.❤
I'd say you're exactly right about the lady possibly typing her letter at a Library, Wade. I've lived homeless myself, for the better part of the last 9 years, staying mostly @ Homeless shelters, & motels; and the Library is where most homeless folks do any typing they need to do. They can usually always come up with the bit of change they need to print out a page or two. Violet
Do you have a store where you sell this stuff ? I’m 77 years old and this amazing to me how much you find in these storage building. Some of the things I’ve seen are from my youth and brought back a lot of memories. Ex: Cupie dolls. Thanks for the entertainment. You have a real nice family. You wife is beautiful.
Wade we love you, and wish you, and your Amazing family, nothing but the best. Always listen to you gut instincts, and go from there when it comes to these kinds of situations. I can see you are a GREAT MAN. My utmost reverence, and respect to your Magnificent spirit. You are held at the highest esteem in my book. Be well!!!🙏❤
She didn't say she was homeless now she said till last October so why are you surprised she has a typewriter? Or typed it up? As a crafter I know that crafty stuff is worth alot if you know where to sell it. It was nice of you to take the time to give her anything back.
Good for you I love that you explain the process and I think that’s totally fair. I noticed that you always have continuously said that you give back any personal items and I think I agree with you. It’s a business, and I totally agree with your sentiments, and you went above and beyond, and I think that’s very very kind. She’s blessed that it was you that actually Responded and did that for her. I think that you know people can say what they want but it is a business and unfortunately she did not uphold her side of the agreement with that storage company, so unfortunately, that may happen, but I totally agree with you. Do not contact people personally, that would not be safe for anybodyand I wish you guys the best of luck. You guys are awesome and you’re very respectful and have high integrity. Always enjoy watching your videos.
So proud of you Wade. You handled just right. That's why I watch you. Love your heart and compasion. You remind me so of my son. please stay safe. Jean from Texas
Of course you went above what was expected!! I know y’all have hearts of gold 💜💜 as soon as I get my PayPal straightened out..( fraudulent charges) I’ll be buying
thanks for sharing the letter from the lady. Nice of you to give the items back to her. People know when they rent storage units what the consequences are if you do not pay your rent.
You are right you have to protect yourself and your family first... That is a must! Embroidery machine cost $500 to $1000+ each. Quilting machines are from $200 to $500 each. Hemp thread is a little higher regular crochet/knit thread. Flute sells for around $125 to $250 depending on brand and used. Dusty from Elvis town MS
This morning a thought came to mind. A big deal is made about giving back a former owner's personal papers and photos or flag. What sacrifice do you make in that? What value are they to you? You root through them anyway so it may take you a few extra minutes to throw them in a separate pile than in a garbage pail. It should be an automatic thing for the person's identity safety. With a fear of bed bugs these days what value is there to a used mattress that's been in storage for years? Donate it from one homeless person to another? These things are of no value to you. So why make such a deal about something that ethically and morally should be done at no dollar cost to you?
You do have a heart of gold I knew that from the very beginning when I started watching you I watched you as much as I can I know every day and sometimes all day and you are such a respectful man you are not like some of the others but I do know that what the Hales also have the hearts of gold and I love me some George I love you two also. Just so I don't get mushy I'm fixing to close this out but please keep your heart open and your eyes on God and you will prosper oh and by the way your wife is most gorgeous.
I'm new to yr channel Wade, but empathy is a good trait to have in life. I hope u gave back all her personal and priceless items. Meaning items u cant sell or she can NEVER buy again. Also, she did say she would buy some of the irreplaceable items back so if u sell to her or a random person wats the difference. #KarmaIsReal ❣
The lady claim that she was homeless till October last year. I wonder why she was not able to get what she wanted out of the storage. She had 5 months to get some of it out. Someone knew what was in there for sure if it was her are not. This does not make any sense. You did good the way you handle the issue.
CJ Hernandez She could not have retrieved anything because when you don’t pay your rental fee, they put their padlock on the door. Have you ever noticed that all storage units have a place for 2 locks??? The second one is for them to lock you out should you not pay.
I would also like to add if she could have her sewing machine back and just some fabric she may be able to get back on her feet. She has a craft that even in her 60s or 70s she could make some money with. Just a suggestion.
Good Job to both of you .. appreciate your care to share it with us as for the fabrics .. you need to sort it ... some of it are real silk and you should e-bay it the last two yarn pins is so expensive as well so don't underestimate it ... I think you better sell it online P.S: Grandma's voice is way better than this :) I missed her so much pls say hi for me
The Multi Colored yarn is Sari Silk yarn. Very kind of you to give her some items back. Pictures are the treasure that most people should get back. If they contact the storage company, usually their pictures are saved for them without involving the buyer of the unit having to receive or provide contact back. The pictures can be left with the place like you said you did with her amount of possessions you gave back.
I didn't know any storage companies would hold photos, etc. for people. Mine said they ask "winners" to turn in any important papers. Mine didn't. All my photo albums, original birth certificate, divorce papers, etc...I got nothing back. All physical evidence of 40 years of my life - gone to a stranger. Everything I worked for and acquired - in a stranger's hands or a dumpster. And now I'm afraid of ID fraud.
@@judilynn9569 I am so very sorry to hear that. Any storage unit owner with ethics would have done that for you. Once we had a storage unit paid for in another state...they accidentally sold it even though I paid for it!!! A clerical error I was told....this was decades ago. I was still able to get the pictures but everything else was a loss. I didn''t have insurance on it and just lost mainly items of cash value.....Despite the mistake the owner had saved my pictures. I didn't have papers in there but lots of pictures
I watch 2 other storage videos an they have had similar encounters with previous owners. Sometimes life throws a curve ball an ya gotta have a heart. That being said,we have to take responsibility and pay our bills cause that's just life. Thank you wade for being kind an helping her out. I can't wait to see what all is in there So far,my favorite was the music box storage! 🤗
Wade, have you ever wondered what the old unit renters are wearing if you have massive amounts of their clothing? I find it just amazing that they even have that much clothing. I live in central Florida and wear shorts just about all year long. We don't need Winter and Summer clothing. Mike
Good man...awesome story just AWESOME! I'm one who has been through some of the issues your facing ...working at an Auction house for many years ...Yes you do deal with every single situation and believe me some are so hard to believe but most of them are all the same.
I think a lot of people don't realize that if you are homeless and an older woman which I believe she is by the age of her music and fabric items etc. that one doesn't have access to ebay and etsy or worthpoint.com. Wade had trouble bringing all that down. I can't imagine the daunting task and just physically getting back and forth. Some people have emotional ties to things from their past so emotional strength is in order. Apparently there was no one to help her.
Yes I see I would have done the same thank you for sharing and for giving some of her stuff back I can see why Ashley is ready to b finished I don’t like going through my own junk so I surely wouldn’t want to go through someone else’s I couldn’t tell if she was still homeless by the letter because she said she was sleeping on the floor nevertheless you done the right thing in my eyes I can’t wait to see the video of your yard sale thank you for sharing
Mad respect for doing the right thing. I understand its business and you don’t have to but being a good person and having a clear conscience when you lay your head on your pillow each night are two of the best attributes you can have
I am really looking forward to your sale next month. As long as it isn't too far from the Hillsboro/Beaverton area. I will keep my eyes open for your time and place. And by the way, that is so much fun craft stuff, up my alley.
That was very nice of you with the lady that got evicted. The library is a place the homeless do go to looking for jobs and live in companion opportunities. Men construct ion that puts them up like when their is a disaster like in Kentucky with the hurricane or tornado that wiped it all out .
She easily could have gone to a public library or a friends home to use their computer... Thanks for being a good person and giving her back some of the items she requested...Perhaps you can let her bid on some of her bigger items...No you are not obligated to do so but if she is willing to pay then I think you should consider it...Do it through a third party if that would be the safer option...A lot of times watching these videos or tv shows about people buying storage units I always wonder about the person who lost it especially if there is a lot of personal or expensive items...I don't think I could do it...This is not me saying the people that do are bad because many of them are great people and I understand its a business!
This may sound strange but I am proud of you! My mom bought storage units in Grand Forks ND a very small town..60,000 or so. But small enough to be found by the owners almost every time and my mom always gave back personal items. However, it is 25 years later and I imagine it can be much more dangerous. But thanks for doing that. We all fall on hard times.
Just an observation, you were very nice to this lady. If this was me, I would have no idea how or where to sell my things. I have a couple of thousand yards of quality fabric, many records, antiques from Germany. I lived through the years that are now antique or vintage. No clue where to sell it all, certainly not in a hurrry!
Wade, we all make choices in life. It looks like she choose to buy stuff. The letter angered me in that she tried telling you what things were worth. She had a chance to sell her stuff and choose not to. You were generous.
You will have one heck of a costume shop..... love that steve young jersey... The first marvel shirt you pulled came out of the marvel loot crate wit the pop's
Hi Wade, at 22:15 you have a nice piece of JADE. Cold to the touch means Jade. Always watch your vlogs and enjoy seeing you and your family. I'm too old to do what you are in to but I did buy units at one time. A lot of hard work and a lot of trash. But, sometimes you find some good finds that make the hard work worth all of the effort. I was lucky enough to never have any unit owners try to get stuff back. Good luck Wade
Wade you're a nut!! Swing that tale Buddy!! Smart girl Ashley, I wouldn't have let him put that thing on me either!! He's so funny!! Love you guys andMom!! FAMILY!! Oh and adorable babies!! Bless you all!!💖😊
You probably already know this but just in case you don't....sometimes flutes can be made of sterling silver so it's worth investigating.....I hope yours is. The yarn found is gorgeous!!! Great video...TFS
I've watched other storage unit auction channel. It was an entire household, toys to furniture, xbox to music cds, but at the back of the unit was a black military style trunk, locked, and no key. In another box was books: on grieving children, surviving after loss, and how to secure Widow Benefits from the military... and the tone of the vid radically changed. Once they got into the trunk, they found the soldier's personel belongings shipped home with him, and the flag draped on his coffin. The Storage Facility would not keep the military trunk to return to the family, so they did some online digging and called the soldier's mother... but they never filmed a follow up. I agree with you, that it is not prudent to contact the previous owner of an abandoned locker; however, there are ways to return things and remain annonymous. There is always the mail, or even a messenger service. For an obvious soldier's belongings, you could contact the local VFW, and see if they would act as an intermediary to return the personal items. I understand those would cost money, but let's be honest: you don't bid on a locker that won't be profitable. Sometimes, it's better to Pay It Forward, and fork out some shipping charges to return the personal memories. With all that said: This unit was NOT just a home; this was a business and something radically drastic happened to loose all this stuff. Oh, there it is... the Star Trek Uniform and things just got Real. THIS IS A COS PLAY PERSON'S LOCKER. THEY SPEND THOUSANDS ON COSTUMES FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN TO DRESS UP AND SHOW OFF AT CONVENTIONS. WHICH IS WHY SHE REQUESTED THE COSTUMES. And now I understand how she could loose the locker.
Very good points, people lost that stuff because they didn't pay there bills, they are always going to have some story about why you should give them their stuff back. Nice video man.
"Who is that person?" She looks like Guanyin - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guanyin Flutes like that one (it is a concert flute) can be quite expensive, you will probably be able to get a good amount of money for it, depending on the maker and if it is silver-plated.
you can be homeless and still have a job. I know from experience because i was working 2 jobs and lost my home and had 2 of my children with me. i spent 2 years in and out of motels and my car. since 2017 i have been in my apartment for 2 years. I never gave up and was also blessed to not ever lose my storage unit . You do have a good heart and you will be blessed for that.

You are a good man Wade, you don't have to give anything back but you do. Mum and Ashley must be very proud of you. Love and hugs to you all Mary-Ellen UK
I have been binge watching you guys and I enjoy your sweet family so much. Thanks for your time and entertainment.🎉😂 Peace ✌️✌️😎 Kathy
I appreciate your kindness and sensitivity when dealing with past owners. Shows a lot about your character. Keeps me coming back!
Violet
Wade you are a good man keep up the good work! take care
I love watching your videos.
Thank You for being so kind!
You are a very good man Wade! Best of luck! 💕
thanks for sharing the letter from the lady. Nice of you to give the items back to her. People know when they rent storage units what the consequences are if you do not pay your rent.
100% agree here Lisa!!!
wade, you are part of a kind family, I noticed that before but this is the time to tell you what I think.
Omg those pastels and paints in the big green toolbox 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I saw that too, and drooled!
I would also like to add if she could have her sewing machine back and just some fabric she may be able to get back on her feet. She has a craft that even in her 60s or 70s she could make some money with. Just a suggestion.
Good Job to both of you .. appreciate your care to share it with us
as for the fabrics .. you need to sort it ... some of it are real silk and you should e-bay it the last two yarn pins is so expensive as well so don't underestimate it ... I think you better sell it online
P.S: Grandma's voice is way better than this :) I missed her so much
pls say hi for me
The Multi Colored yarn is Sari Silk yarn.
I didn't have papers in there but lots of pictures
dont forget to save the yarn for grandma! lol GRANDMA IS GOING TO BE SO HAPPY!! 🧶🧶🧶🧶🧶
Well put, thanks for tips -like u say, business is business !! 👍🏼.... btw, u do a great Mom impersonation 😀
I watch 2 other storage videos an they have had similar encounters with previous owners. Sometimes life throws a curve ball an ya gotta have a heart. That being said,we have to take responsibility and pay our bills cause that's just life.
Thank you wade for being kind an helping her out.
I can't wait to see what all is in there
So far,my favorite was the music box storage!
Men construct ion that puts them up like when their is a disaster like in Kentucky with the hurricane or tornado that wiped it all out .
yessssss!! I've been patiently for this all day! :)
:)))))
Hey Ash, this unit looks great. I hope you find some special items in this locker.
YOU SOFTIE. I saw how you struggled with this. You are a good guy, doing the right thing.
That was lovely. God bless you.
Love your work, hi Ashley
thank you Janet!
You're a good man, but I've known that ever since I first watched your videos. Your mother can be proud of having raised such a good man. Bless you.
You have a heart. keep it real ,keep the faith, keep your head up. N Ashley he is very handsome love the beard.
Bless you all!!💖😊
It’s been some time I was away ... I miss your videos 😊❤️
You probably already know this but just in case you don't....sometimes flutes can be made of sterling silver so it's worth investigating.....I hope yours is. The yarn found is gorgeous!!! Great video...TFS
Yes - if it's a Gemeinhardt silver flute it's worth a pretty penny. My husband paid about $800 for his.
Your mom is going to love this video
Ashley is one smart cookie 💜
love your videos :)
Thanks Cooking Oldsckool!
good finds...still waiting to get my first unit.
yes!!! they will pop up trust me :))
Very good points, people lost that stuff because they didn't pay there bills, they are always going to have some story about why you should give them their stuff back. Nice video man.
"Who is that person?" She looks like Guanyin - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guanyin
Flutes like that one (it is a concert flute) can be quite expensive, you will probably be able to get a good amount of money for it, depending on the maker and if it is silver-plated.
Thanks for being a good guy...
🤣🤣🤣🤣all the yarn🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣she doesn't sound like that Wayne. My son does that to me all the time.
you can be homeless and still have a job.
Great unit
