I really like how easy on the ears your voice is. I mean, and I know I've seen this very comment somewhere on your videos before, it's like listening to Bob Ross of modeling.
Oh cool, thank you very much! Doing the video edits and sometimes I get a little tired of my own voice so that made my day, cheers for that! After starting TH-cam, kind folks started mentioning Bob Ross and I get it, I had never seen the show but after checking it out I can totally "hear" what you mean and I'm a big fan now, he's the best!!
Perfect, Lincoln! Thank you! Just all what I wanted to know about applying decals! :)
Excellent, thanks Dave and hope it helps!!
very informative video. thanks! great for me because i'm learning how to decal my gunpla
Art CMBDIA excellent feedback and good timing, cheers buddy!
🤔 top coat after decal/before weathering should be flat or gloss? I guess it depends on the weathering you're going to apply like flat can work for a heavy weathered finish with texture/pigments? Or it doesn't even matter? Thanx! 😁
Some companies make kits that give decals that are expected to be put over each other to make the complete image. How does one put another decal over a decal already on your model?
You leave them over night! Man I slap about three applications of the Micro set on with about 10-15 min apart then a final coat of Sol wait until dry then clear coat and dull coat to tie it all back in.... I guess I'm just impatient, lol. I also help the flattening/settling process along by rolling a cotton bud over the decal at every step until it's sitting flat.
Nice, thanks Troggman!!
Anyone who has ever tried to put a Blood Angels chapter badge on a marines shoulder pad will know the agony that has lead me to this extreme level of application, lol.
Grifftrogg oh yeah! I did a bunch of Ultramarines and those U markings... euww. That was before I knew about these sorts of products too. 😆😆
wait, you did your weathering before applying decal ? won't the decal looks new compared to its surrounding ? or you need to weather it once again ?
Abe Hadiwidjojo excellent observation. This is the model before weathering, really!! This is just my paint steps for this kind of Ma.K finish. Don't worry I understand, it's a little bit unique way to make models. 😊👍🏼
how required so you say is to get the mark setter/micro set? i only purchased the mr mark softer when i want to have the decals "melt" to round surfaces and found them stick on the model with just water to be fine. is there something im missing
Ji Sang Park if your results are good and you are happy - all good 😊 👍🏼
you don't go over your water slides with a qtip? i see many guys squeezy the decals on.
Mr Super Clear? I thought those things damage slides when applied over them? It says so in their site.
It's possible so they have the warning but in practice, we do it all the time. ^^
@@PaintonPlasticbyLincolnWright Wow, guess I'll have to reconsider. I've been using the Mr. Hobby topcoat and I always run out so fast. That's why I wanted to get the super clear ones but then I read that warning. So is there anything else I should be wary about when using it? So that I don't damage my decals, panels, and paint etc.
Don't spray on water-based paints until they have 24hrs drying time, they need to cure. Go slowly, test with mist coats. It's pretty hot stuff but my #1 top coats for Gloss, Satin and Flat.
