Also misty i have a black cat too, i live in the country and when i was a teenager my friends cat had a litter and her dad was going to knock them on the head so i saved the litter and got people at school to take them in and i kept a little black cat for myself, she is literally the love of my life 😊
My cat is a little black cat and she the most cuddly cat ever. She was abandoned over night outside the shelter at a week old with her three other brothers and sister. One of her brothers died and the other was adopted my my dads co-worker. And the sister we have no idea who adopted her but I will try and find her if we can so I find it amazing how he adopted this cat cus it could of died.

The cat showing her belly is a good sign that she trusts you. Cats bellies are a very vulnerable spot, so some are very hesitant to lay on their back in front of other people.
Really? I guess that makes sense because my big cat always rolls and lies on his back for a belly rub lol

When female cats are getting ready to give birth, they usually find places secluded to nest in and they’re usually very affectionate. She’s probably super close, maybe a few days!

I assumed I watched the first episode when Sukura gave birth. I didn’t realize I missed a bunch of episodes that took place before the birth.
I adopted a rescue kitten a few years ago. He was found frozen to a truck trailer and had some weird deformations. He's so cute though! Even now that he's almost 5 years old, he still looks like a kitten. It's almost criminal how adorbable he is. His name is Tesla btw, since I never thought I'd own a cat, and know I'll never afford a Tesla, and I also love science. He also makes little pigeon coos instead of meaus. And allegedly Nikola Tesla wrote love letters to a pigeon. XD The name just works for my boi.

when a cat raises their tail like that, it means they're glad to see you. also, when a cat exposes their stomach to you, it means they trust you. a cat's stomach is their most vulnerable area since it holds all of their vital organs. Especially with pregnant cats, since that's where their babies are.

One thing I've learned about cats is, you can spend all this money on toys and things for them, and they end up going to play with bottle caps, pens, straws...trash pretty much lol and their favorite thing are boxes...her PERFECT "nest" would be a box that's about 2ft x 3ft x 2ft, with a blanket in there, all closed up except you cut out a square hole in the side about 7x7 inches and she will LOVE IT...and most likely have her kittens in there. They love to feel like they are in a cave, esp dark ones, where they can spy on others where they can't be well seen...hence her going for that dark drawer.
These are very true! My cats favorite toys are worm on a string (after we cut off the string) sparkly puff balls, and small fake flowers. She like to be able to throw her toy and fling it around, she also likes to play fetch. I have also made her a box house and she loved it. She had a cat tree that has a cave like thing and it’s her favorite spot
Yah, I used to have a kitty that loves to steel pens and could not find any pens until I moved and found a stash of over 50 pens! She loved aluminum foil balled up to make a fast and easy batted ball and loved plastic caps off soda bottles... I'd throw it, shed get it, picking it up with her upper lip over it biting onto it and bring it back to me dropping it at my feet... Would never touch all those expensive toys I'd bought bought from Petsmart lol
I just found your channel the other day and have to give you a big round of applause for taking in a pregnant cat. The shelters and rescue groups are overwhelmed because of the virus (some people are actually giving up their pets because they lost their jobs and can't afford to keep them which is why its important that whoever adopts a kitten knows it's a 20-year commitment), so yes, many are just being euthanized (which in many places means they are literally shoved into a giant trash can with other animals and the lid is closed and they die slow agonizing deaths choking on the toxic fumes, it's truly horrific). Thank you for helping this mom cat and her babies!

I know why, I think. It's because in the wild when they have kittens they lift their rump to get them off. Over time I think it has just become ticklish. Also told tip:do not do it to it to much other wise something will happen to their back, I forgot what it's called.

Bless you Joey for rescuing this cat from the pound. She looks like a cat I had since she was a kitten. But when she was 13 or so she got terminal kidney trouble. I had let to her go. I still miss her three and half years on. It is such a comfort to see your cat, especially in these strange times. Bless you both xx. Stay safe
I rescued a cat a couple of months ago and she was so little where she couldn’t drink milk so we had to bottle feed her we found her outside of our house so dirty and skinny she would have died if me and my family didn’t save her she looks just like your cat too but ever since we got her I have changed as a person
“Eclipse”,”Raven”,”Celeste”(short for celestial),or “Luna” as a name for her or her future kittens 🐱.

Beautiful cat. Looks a lot like a stray cat that me and my sister fed and 'accidentally' encouraged to adopt our Mom when we were younger lol. We had called him Shadow. He passed away some years ago now but he had the thick black fur and fluffy tail. Beautiful cat, especially once he had a home and was eating well :)

The bald spots above the eyes are very common in cats with allergies. If she's scratching a lot, you can try taking out fish and chicken from her diet (most common cat allergies).

Black cats tend to look like that though. Its scent glands. Because of the color difference between fur and skin they're way more noticeable.

Hey joey, a little advice for you when she gives birth, pls don’t help her give birth or really pick up the kittens until like 2 to 3 day after they are born. It causes stress to mama and she will move the kittens, and it’s also for the safety of the kittens
the kittens can get stuck and he has to be there if so. if the mom doesn't trust him she will show it. if u will like more info just ask ty.
Keirah S-J definitely don’t need more info. I foster kittens and cat, including pregnant cats. If one of the kittens gets stuck, you should take it to the vet. Kittens are very fragile when their first born. And a mom cat will do anything to protect her kittens, even if she trusts the human that is picking up the kittens.

Hey Joey! She most likely wants to have her kittens somewhere they can’t crawl out into the open. What she liked about the drawer is there were walls where the kittens wouldn’t be able to stumble out of it. So maybe get a tote and put blankets in it for her.
a baby basinet is good to use too or those pack and plays i think they are called
That's what my cat Layla did. She got in my dresser drawer so I just put my blankets their and she gives birth.

Cats usually have less hair there in front of their ears. Also not trying to be a jerk and tell you what to do but alot of house plants are poisonous to cats. So if you can maybe take those plants out just in case. I know this was pre recorded so maybe you already did. Good luck :)

@@paulbrandon1295 then they'll still just use the zodiac signs as names even if it isn't enough..you don't need an exact amount, lol. And if there are too many (which I kinda doubt will happen) then they'll use other names. It's really not too difficult of a concept lol.
I absolutely love that you talk back to her when she meows at you. That's her way of communicating to you, so it makes me happy that you're talking back. Especially in a high pitch voice :)

@@_.sleepywillow._2865 Mine wouldn't either, until we started talking to him. He eventually started opening up and got more and more vocal. He greets us and thanks us whenever we let him back inside. He lets us know whenever he's hungry or wants to be let inside somewhere and so on.

This hits me in the heart hard. I had a male black cat named Boo Boos, and he was my closest companion. Sadly, my parents had to put him down because he wasn’t very comfortable or healthy at the time. They never informed me they were putting him down, and I only found out when they showed me a box with his body in it (they didn’t show me him after he died, as that was the first time I had experienced a death in my life and they didn’t want to overwhelm me). He was a great cat and protected me since my parents brought me home. This cat reminds me so much of Boo Boos, so I’m glad Joey saved her from a life in the pound. Thank you.
Edit: Just to clear any confusion, this was many years ago and although I still miss him I know he’s happy now. I also have a dog named Oreo that is very sweet. He’s no Boo Boo’s, but he has helped me since that point of my life. Thank you for all the touching replies, they really made my day.

Dragon Master that is so sad to hear I had a tough time with a cat that I loved so much his name was Smokey we named him that cause we saved him from a burning house and he was the light of my life he liked the out side a lot we let him out side at night and he was a the step every morning until one day he never came back it been 2 years from now and I still miss him very much even though I have a new companion (not a replacement) her name is ginger and we are actually snuggling right now anyways I hope you are ok it’s a tough time I know that you will get through this like any one else! ❤️😊

Maybe take the drawer itself and put so blankets or pillows but them in the drawer and the maybe just put it where that open space is that you want to close up some? She seems to have definitely made a connection to that drawer, like it's her safe space.

Also, I think a zodiac, or astrological name would fit her well. Plus, if you do name her something along those lines, you could name the kittens after the zodiac signs
