As has been mentioned, the name of the speaker, "Amati Homage," is a tribute to Nicola Amati, the groundbreaking violin maker that directly influenced the work of Guarneri and Stradivari, both of whom had their own namesake Sonus Faber speakers.
I have to agree, they are beautifull speakers, I spent some time with them. Although not a huge fan of the Sonus Faber sound, they are very good. They are like you said musical sounding, but imho doesn't have the punch and precision of something like a B&W 802 D2.

Just by looking at them you can tell they are luxury speakers, sweet sounding and pricy!
