    The Warriors’ season has been more drama-filled than any in recent memory and it’s only getting worse. Whispers of a Draymond Green trade have begun but now Jonathan Kuminga is leaking that he’s lost faith in Coach Steve Kerr. This is a look at the latest rumors and how the Dubs can right their season.

    The main problem with the Warriors is that they never replaced Mike Brown. He was the defensive genius on the team. He also was a bridge to the younger players on the team. The Warriors need a defensive coach.

    Small-ball worked great when GS's core was young and at their peak athletically, but now they are too old and too slow to sacrifice on size. They used to fly all over the place and anybody who got a tiny window could make the other team pay, but now it is just waiting for Curry to get open on a screen.

    • @Low_Marine
      @Low_Marine 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +41

      exactly. Small ball worked because around steph you had Wings playing. Iggy, Pre- Injury Klay, Harrison Barnes, KD, Livingston and Dray at Center who could match up to any center without giving up much of an advantage while grabbing the rebound and outsprinting everyone down the court.

    • @GregPopabich

      Plus, the rest of the league as caught up! It's all about SIZE now! Athletic big men are what's needed to win!

    • @peteybrian
      @peteybrian 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      The Warriors have usually had size advantages per position throughout the dynasty years... They've had 7' centers like Bogut, McGee, Ezeli, Zaza, Wiseman, Damian,...? Who's a bigger SG than Klay at 6'7" or Moody at 6'6"? SF? Iguodala and 6'11" KD are big. PF's Draymond, West, Kuminga. The death lineup was not a heavy minute lineup.

Wiggins might be misused at the 4 and should be a small forward to utilise his defensive capabilities - I am not ready to give up on him yet. Getting Allen would be nice but the remaining trade pieces as I see it if your suggestion for Siakam goes through would be Klay and Looney. Of course, everything changes depending if Green wants to stay on the court instead of beating everyone up.

Most warriors fan don’t want to see the core go BUT we know it’s best for the future of the team and it needs to happen if we want to contend. We need to package a deal around 3-4 players between Moody, Wiggins, Draymond, Looney and Klay and go get a 20+ pt scorer and true big man. And Kerr also needs to either figure his rotations out or he should be on the chopping block soon after that. Us fans are extremely mad about how he’s been handling minutes and rotations. No reason JK should be getting less than 30ish minutes a night and TJD and Saric need to be getting 20-25 each while Looney only gets 15ish and Looney also shouldn’t be closing out the halves and end of games.

    I honestly believe the only really good move for the warriors is to get a legitimate center and to deal CP3. This does two things:
    1. PODz can start over CP3 b/c (1) he's a legitimate offensive threat and (2) plays better defense and (3) rebounds better
    2. Everyone else can be moved back into their natural position--the warriors defensive woes are all b/c everyone is playing out of position defensively:
    - Curry is defending 2
    - Wiggins has been pushed down to like 4 at times, which is insane, b/c he's already a bad rebounder for his position
    - Saric just can't stay in front of anyone small and can't present resistance to any legit 5s, so he's being made to look like a chump on defense
    - Kuminga and Wiggins can actually be on the floor at the same time if you have a legitimate 5 behind them
    - Looney can finally become redundant and potentially be packaged as a trade piece by pushing TJD to the 4 on some lineups
    Our defense would literally move from the worst to a top 8-10... it's hilarious to me that they've not made this change yet. It's so simple that it's almost shameful. Siakim specifically doesn't fix this team b/c we're still left with a bunch of guys playing out of position. He's a 6'8 guy--it doesn't really make sense to bring him on this team unless we're also going to ship out a bunch of other guys. It'd be wild to ask Siakim to play anything bigger than 3-4, but if we brought him in... that's exactly what Kerr would do...

    When it comes to Draymond, I don't believe the Warriors will trade him even though the media has been pushing for them to. He's been the heart & soul of that franchise with Steph since this core was constructed. He's loved there & you can't really replace what he brings to the team. I could be wrong. Maybe they've simply had enough of his antics by now. But I'll need to see it to believe it. You are right, though. The Warriors could use a skilled big man, for sure. Peace.

    Hot take--Kerr has been using Andrew Wiggins as an excuse to hold Kuminga back. I low key want to see someone get traded/moved here so we can learn what the truth behind all of this drama is. Let's get real here... why can Podz play, but Kuminga can't play... why can Podz play but TJD can't play? Why can Podz play but Moody can't play... something don't smell right here. Kerr is acting like these guys didn't nearly demand trades last year--Kuminga looked like he was fighting demons in the off season training. Now he came back having taken a massive step offensively--he's ready.
    This isn't even a knock on Podz, but you know the optics are bad when a rookie is getting more consistent minutes than 2 guys in their 3rd years that look ready. Warriors are going out sad, b/c now they're going to have to make at least a couple of moves here.
    1. Trade Kuminga/Moody - This wouldn't be great b/c the team would get toxic after this
    2. Let Kerr go and move off of Klay's contract - This is also tough b/c this means that this season is over and at that point you may as well start flushing other assets as well (like Draymond)
    You can't ever move off of Curry's contract b/c of all the money he brings this team in ticket and Jersey sales and also he's the soul of this team--he's this team's Kobe. This is either the front office's fault or Kerr's fault or Curry's fault or some mixture of all of the above. No one is being held accountable for this sinking ship.

    Klay's worst is some other players best and you don't hear people talking iish about them! Also, if stress and depression affects performance do people not feel like that's what's going on with Klay?! Dude has to listen to so much criticism, taking all the blame and hearing Dub fans saying trade him. Klay is a Warrior at heart for life and if that was me and I had to take all that.. I'd be affected the same way! People are forgetting before Klay suffered double injuries he was playing his heart out/giving his all on court, to his team and the fans and that he also helped the Dubs win a chip after he returned from injury and still has to listen and deal with the BS from fans. Nobody ever returns from injuries 100% but Klay came back and still won a chip. Everyone has droughts off and on so whats the difference with Klay?! Why can't fans afford him that. He still balls out and has great games, but fans have to understand that sometimes players go through slumps. Shit happens. Dude is a great player, who gives his all but it's never enough with today's NBA fans.

    I've played team sports in actual competitive settings for like 2 decades of my life if not a little longer. No organization can let Draymond Green do that to a teammate, dole out zero repercussions, reward him with a big contract, ship out the dude he dropped to purgatory, and expect the other young players to take your "authority" seriously. You can't ask people to sacrifice when you're letting that kind of shit go down as normal thing. He pulls them when they play well, he pulls them when they play poorly, sometimes he only plays them when there is literally no one available. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to how they earn more playing time. There doesn't seem to be any consistently, and that is absolutely the one thing you can't be if you want to build a good culture.
