From looking at the neck pov it’s definitely the same of what my horse does! When he’s on the wrong lead it feels funny and his rocking is different. He also leans to the inside to much as well! Tysm for this video !
It’s funny because on ponies I couldn’t usually tell if I was on the wrong lead. But with horses it’s so immediately obvious. Like cantering on the lead feels really weird
throwback to the time when i first started riding and my instructor told me to look down at the front legs to check the lead so i leaned out of my saddle like one of those crazy trick riders (and somehow miraculously stayed on)
This was so much easier for me than I thought it would be, once I learned what to look for, it was simple. Now if I could just master the freaking trot diagonals, that's my kryptonite- my instructor gets so frustrated, she always says I ride too well by now to not know them, but I still can't FEEL it, and I never remember to look, if it feels okay... Just have to keep looking until it clicks, I guess! Tucker is adorable, btw! ❤

You can feel the leads without looking. Whatever lead you are on will draw your corresponding hip forward. So right leg horse, right hip rider and visa versa. Also, to be biomechanicaly correct, you should allow the correct hip to be slightly advanced. If you sit totally straight, you are actually blocking your horse.

I can never tell if I’m on the correct lead😂 my trainer is like “are you on the right lead??” I just completely guess!!

I always look at the shoulder and see if the outside leg is the first one reaching out in a canter!

Hi Tysm for this can you do the back lead? Sometimes the horses at my barn will get the front leg but not the back.
mm. I mean usually but not nessicarily always. Counter canter has a ton of benefits
