  • We are excited for our Serbia road trip!
    Check out my first time driving in Serbia, and watch our experience from the process of renting a car, to driving and road rules, and paying for motorway.
    How to rent a car in Serbia?
    How much is car rental in Serbia?
    Is driving in Serbia safe?
    Do I need international driving license?
    How to pay for motorway/highway in Serbia?
    Is travelling Serbia cheap?
    We rented from Green Motion in Novi Sad for 20 Euro/day, and drive with Canadian driver's license.

    Serbia is a very beautiful country. They have great food, funny and friendly people. So many similar things with Bulgaria. Love Serbian music and Balkan music. Zivela Srbija even if we have a bitter past. Не сме безгрешни 😀 F the rest of the world who want to separate and destroy the Balkan identity.

    Hi Steve and Ivona, I'm so glad you're back in Serbia :D! There are so many beautiful places to visit. Here are some suggestions. Uvac river, Perućac lake (wonderful nature and view), Golubac fortress (you need good climbing shoes, don't go in slippers xP), Oplenac church which is a mausoleum of one of the Serbian ruling dynasties (Karađorđević), the interior of the church is in a colorful mosaic (open until 6 p.m. or 7 p.m., come early). No matter which mountain you go to, you will not regret it, there is wonderful nature on Fruška Gora, Zlatibor and Kopaonik. The most beautiful medieval frescoes can be found in the Studenica and Mileševa monasteries. In Mileševa is the most famous Serbian fresco by an unknown author, her name is the White Angel. Check when the monasteries are open for visiting, usually until 5 or 7 p.m. For a slightly easier tour and a nice walk, Palić lake, which is close to you, 8 km from Subotica :), and the small Avala mountain, which is close to Belgrade. Oh yes, one more important thing, the best barbecue is in Niš, but also in Leskovac :D.

    Those aren't speed traps as they don't have cameras. It's a psychological trick to make drivers slow down by showing them their speed, they're common all around Europe. Actual speed cameras will not have a display.

    • @RaduRadonys
      @RaduRadonys ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not entirely true, in Romania, at least in my city, there are speed cameras with a display that shows your speed, the maximum allowed speed and the penalty points you will receive by mail [Romania uses a system with points, if you commit mistakes you'll get points, and once you accumulate a certain number of points your permit might be suspended for a certain time].

    11:23 The Police are standing by because average speeds are measured with devices that are on the highway in some places.
    If you have driven more than 130 km/h between two points, the fine is paid on the spot with a 50% reduction. if you don't want it, you have 8 days to pay at the post office or bank. Only vehicles with foreign license plates that have exceeded the speed limit are stopped here.

    I'm from Serbia and I admit it can be at time pretty wild on a road but to be honest, the most dangerous driving I ever had was in Poland. Specialy the semi truck drivers give no shit about others and there are like traffic accidents on every 20-30 miles on the highway.

    Vojvodina has all the road signs and paperwork in Latin because the law states that if there's 15% or more people in a municipality speaking a language other than Serbian, there has to be everything in their language (and I do mean everything, from schools to street names etc), and since Vojvodina is very ethnically mixed you can just ask for everything in Latin and they'll provide it.

    Btw, those aren't speed traps. They just measure your speed but they don't record it and you won't get a fine unless there is an actual police car on patrol on the spot with a radar. There's an occasional automatic speed trap on the freeways for those driving severely above the speed limit, but not really on smaller local roads (something you will find in Bosnia for instance).
    The radars that will get you fined are the ones manually operated by police officers that plant themselves on spots where people are known to rush and where drivers can't easily see them from afar. Most likely you'll get blinked on by incoming traffic to warn you of the ambush :)

  • @vajaga4624
    @vajaga4624 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @ aroung 9min, the 30 zone with "speed traps" was because of the nearby school. Sign is saying to be aware for kids. Slow down.

    2nd video i watched...found you via YT recommend...subscribed :) You two seem super nice and happy together, had a smile across my face watching you enjoy.
    Just wanted to say that rail crossings from Novi Sad to Subotica are not working, because the rail is being renovated so no train traffic.
    Also traffic from NS to SU is a breeze but if you go towards Belgrade...the closer you get the worse it gets (i mean congested) coz the high way goes directly through Belgrade (almost city Centre).
    But overall the difference between Vojvodina and the rest of the country is very noticeable in almost every way.
