I just purchased a Hyundai Tucson Limited Hybrid and absolutely love it. Aside from the great looks, practically and abundant features, I really like the fact that this HEV uses a traditional 6 speed transmission. No whiny, droning motor sounds! The only way I know if the car is running on the ICE or electric motor is by looking at the display. You cannot feel/hear the transitions, it's that smooth and quiet! The Tucson Hybrid also has double the towing capacity of the Honda CRV Hybrid and 300 lbs. more capacity than the Toyota Rav4 Hybrid.
@@davidvanaert6934 I purchased the same model a couple of months ago. I also get more than the advertised fuel efficiency as well. Getting well over 40 mpg around town. 👍
Agreed, my daughter just bought one. She had a Subaru Forester for six years. It was a great car for her but the transmission was horribly loud, fake shafts drove me nuts. I had to warn anyone who drove it that it was 0-15 in .5 seconds, but 15-60 in eventually. Her new Hyundai Tucson Hybrid is really smooth, quiet, and has great acceleration.
Excellent SUV. Mechanical AWD, heated and cooled seats, 360 degree camera, excellent pickup, Turbo charged hybrid engine, songreat in the mountains. Lotsnofnspace inside. Front passenger also gets electronically adjustsed seats. Excellent sunroof. Much better automated driving assist than any Japanese brand.
I have a deposit on a Rav4 XSE hybrid, but this Tucson hybrid does look interesting. Hyundai is offering 0% financing with no payment due for 90 days. That's a very attractive offer. Toyota has 7 Rav4 hybrid trim lines and the higher ones can get expensive. For example, my Rav4 on order has a MSRP of $44,672. Some things to consider: the Rav4 hybrid gets better fuel economy than the Tucson. 41/38 vs 35/35. That can be significant if you do lots of city driving. The Tucson's engine uses GDI technology and has a turbocharger. These could increase maintenance cost in the future. However, Hyundai offers a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty, which is hard to beat. One last thing: I may have to wait 3 months before my Rav4 hybrid is ready. The 2025 Tucson is already on the dealership lots.
All reviews I've seen fail to discuss the cost of insurance of a hybrid vs. an ICE vehicle. I've found (with no tickets, accidents, etc.) that insurance almost doubles with a hybrid. For me, that's around a $1,000 differential annually. Does a hybrid save at least that much in gas cost? Sorry for the math, but the typical 12,000 miles driven per year in an ICE vehicle getting 26 average mpg would cost $1,600 at $3.50/gallon. A hybrid getting 38 average mpg would cost $1,100, or a savings of $500 in this case. The added insurance cost of a hybrid is twice the savings in gas. I'd love to make it pencil. but with added purchase price of a hybrid, I don't see the advantage for my pocketbook. Reviews would be more helpful to focus on these aspects as a "Buyer Beware" to avoid surprises when you get your insurance bill. Sure, hybrids are "good for the planet" - and we've got to do something - but it would be helpful to know what you're getting into.
Not sure what insurance you are getting. I've owned hybrids for 10 years and my insurance is about the same either way. I just got this vehicle and it cost $520 per 6 months. My 2019 Niro Hybrid cost $450 over 6 months, and my 2015 Ram 1500 ICE is $380. Before my Niro, I had a 2012 Toyota Prius V that was only $350 per 6 months at the time. That's with top credit, no tickets, no accidents, etc. It could depend on where you live though. California I could see those prices you are getting as realistic. I live on the east coast where prices are not as high. You also need to make sure you are comparing apples to apples. A Tucson ICE vs Hybrid of the same year is a good comparison. I was quoted $490 per 6 months for an ICE Tucson. Only $60 more per year for the hybrid version. I save that in gas over a month with the hybrid.
Great video… can I ask some advice… In ireland I have a two story house… So I’ll be going round the gutter perimeter, but on the bottom at my front door porch, how do I break from the top to come down?… Do I continue round as mentioned above, then break (cut) at top to come down onto roof porch?… Surely this would break the animation/run ??? And if I separate the porch with different power supply the animation effects will not sinc ???
On long road trips, I think the plug-in hybrid battery will last about 40 miles (assuming no recharging). After that, you’re driving on the 1.6L gas engine, which is smaller than the 2.5L engine in the gas-only model. So with the plug-in hybrid, does this mean you’re stuck with lower performance on long road trips?
Yes. They look better, way more tech features, nicer screens and blind spot displays. They drive more like a car than Toyota vacuum cleaner transmission. I am going to get the Limited as soon as they are available here.
I wonder if the turn signals being so low on the bottom instead of eye level will increase rear ending collisions?? Seems they need to be kept at eye level. Plus Toyota have perfected the hybid over 25 years and every one else is late to the dance. How could they prove to be better than Toyota? Maybe they reversed engineered the Toyota Hybrid?
I didn’t recognize you with the beard but same voice! I thought you said at the start that you would compare this with the RAV 4 hybrid?! What happened?
I have had my 2025 Limited Hybrid for 50 days now. (1500 miles) The MPG is horrible, and I don't recommend it. I have reached 30 MPG yet with average driving. 28.8 last fill.
@ most people? What media outlet has said that? Truth Social? I mean be serious with that statement. And what good is being cheaper new when their resale tanks in comparison to the equivalent Toyota. Save 5K now and watch it be worth 15K less in 5 years.
Bro toyota and honda are way overpriced not hyundai. Hyundais are the most value for money. U do know that a fully loaded elantra is the same price as a civic sport gas varient that has no heated seats, small screen, less features.

Been driving my limited hybrid for a week now and been impressed so far. So much more tech than competitors
Any issues with the low turn signals?

For a such a nice car it sure has a ugly key remote lol
I actually thought the key remote is pretty cool. Lol.

@@kenfrank2730 You’ll regret not getting the RAV4
Tucson hybrid is a good looking for a Hyundai
This or Toyota RAV4, Nissan Rogue, Honda CRV, BMW X3, Audi Q5, Mercedes GLC, Tesla Model Y & Others, Right?
Hyundayi gives hybrid option with the best set of features and fun to deive too.

I haven’t had that experience. Hybrid or ICE the insurance quote has been within single digit dollars for me.
Don’t these get 38mpg combined? I’ve got a 2022 Tucson hybrid and I actually get better than 38 on a regular basis. The Tucson is rad.
Wow. How do you do that? Mine max I have is 36, 32 average.

Can you do the N line ?
Base version please
I went with this over the RAV4 because it has more head room.
Is this the Hybrid Ultimate or the N Line?
Also is this the black color?

not even discussing the hybrid technology so how are you even doing this

This is the most disrespectful title for a YT video I've ever seen in my entire life. ITS Turbo so no.
Short answer,No.
No, Toyota does
Exactly...Toyota been making hybrids for a long time......North America just new to the game....
Not a single human being thinks Hyundai makes a better hybrid than Toyota.
