A little hint anytime you use a new Skillet like that taking put some cooking oil in it said it on the fire and let it cook and season that pan couple times it won't stick is bad
And if something does, and/or you scorch it (as I did in the bottom of my Stanley cook set cup), the 50/50 water/vinegar heat to a boil mix method will get most all of the burnt & stuck stuff up. Especially if you've already tried scrubbing with Brillo a/or other abrasive cleaners with minimal/moderate improvement.
Definitely going to pick one of these up ,I love how everything is inside the cook kit that you need plates cutlery spatula cutting board brilliant. Thanks for sharing
I have the same 2 stanley cook sets that you have in your video. I also have one that has a pot with a container for leftovers and 3 little containers for spices. I love them all. Always bring them when we do an overnight canoe trip. Great video. Really enjoyed it.
Just to add a suggestion. If you get eggs from the farm that hasn’t been refrigerated, you can, in a egg carrier, bring 6-12 eggs and no refrigeration needed as they will in normal temperature last a month. A week long camping trip is no problem. This is for farm bought eggs only, not supermarket eggs!
Every breakfast should be this way, in the woods over an open fire! Love the video, keep em' coming. My love for Stanley started with my very first coffee thermos and I have stayed with them throughout the years. Have the same cook pot that you do and can't say enough good things about it.
Ordered mine today. Good review. New subscriber. Dude, you had me gringing when you were sawing on your leg. Lol. Good stuff. Look forward to catching up on your videos.
Self reliance outfitters, pathfinder skillets has lids , if i remember correctly they were cheaper shipping in , than Stanley Cookware. And the handle folds under the skillets , my Stanley skillet is on the back porch for a dog food pan ,
I love how that skillet set worked and have to buy one to add to my backpack for camping out with. That is a nice looking unit and I want one badly now after seeing it in action.
I bought the Stanley Pro cookware even heat set not long ago, and it came with a frying pan. I'm not sure if it is the same size as this one, but it looks about the same. I love mine. It's not lightweight, meaning it is very durable, and the bottom is very thick. I don't put my cookware directly on the fire, I use an old grill grate from a BBQ that I threw away. I place rocks, branches, or whatever on each side of my fire and then put the grill grate over them to give me a few inches above the coals. Noticed I said " coals " and not fire. I believe an actual flame might be too hot, and I don't want to destroy my frying pan. But that's me and how I use mine. I alo NEVER use pine or cedar to cook with. The pine or cedar will make your food taste like a pinecone.
I think stainless is the best material for a fry pan. Stanley makes great stuff!! I have several of their cookpots/kits on my boat, and a couple of the frypans. You have to play with it to make it as non-stick as you can. You might have it way too hot, defeating the benefit of butter. Also, try avocado oil next time. It has the highest smoke point of cooking oils 500°+. What’s that little french press pot you have?? How 'bout a link for it!! You’re making great vids!! My only negative is how you were sawing/cutting your firewood... NEVER against your leg, or any other body part!!
Thanks for this great video. I had to hunt thru a few 'till i found yours that answered my question to my satisfaction. how well does it perform on an open fire! Every man and his dog can do a vid with a spirit or gas burner in their carport lol ! Dont get me wrong there is nothing wrong with a spirit or gas burner but i want gear that will work for both ways to keep in my vehicle kit:) Great job, and a pleasure to watch!
Coconut oil works very well for non stick abilities. Well, it works very well with cast iron but I assume it will work just as well for ss. Add a little butter for flaver because coconut oil eggs are not that good.
Nice video! Do me a favor, change your habit of using your saw! Could have injured your leg with one little slip! Keep up the great work looking forward to the next video Thanks
Great video AND... Finally someone who uses their saw correctly! Cut until you can break it. There is no reason to waste the saw's edge, your time or strength to cut all the way through.
Where can we find the small French coffee press? I have two kinds of the Stanley coffee press' but I do like the smaller one you are using. Thanks for a very good video.
Stanley do a French press pot, slightly wider than the standard pot, or you can get an insulated coffee mug which works like a French press from Amazon. Mine’s called Smart Cafe mug.
I purchased this recently and the lid does not fit. Does anyone else have this issue? I got it specifically because it has the plastic lid so I can put it away dirty without it making a mess in my bag. I turned the pan upside down with the lid on the ground and put all my weight on it and it still does not go on...just wondering if I got a bad one or if they are all like this?
I have the same issue with this frying pan, anything gets stuck pretty bad no matter what you cook on it. I have the full 4 people set, its the only downside I'd say.
I bought it but I notice when putting it away that the lid does not clamp properly on the pan. So this one falls off. I bought a second copy and this one also has the lid falling off. Has anyone had the same problem?
Enjoyed the video. So the soot you had on that new pan....do you let it burn in or do you clean your stuff after? I am in soot hell lol. Gets all in my bag. I can use plastic bags but who wants to take those. Thank u
10 min in on an 18 min video about a frying pan & still hasn't used it. Think it's far past time to move on. *Edit: I stuck around because I'm interested in purchasing this pan but in the end, the pan was only used for 3 min from 11:00 min to 14:00 min & that was just to scramble some eggs. you could do that in any pan. I'll now carry on with my search for a proper demo/review of this pan & why I should or shouldn't buy one.
you can make the SS pan non-stick by first pouring some veg oil (1/8") in the skillet, then heating it over hi flame and rolling it around until the oil smokes and the skillet starts to discolor around the top of the oil marks on the skillet, then you dump the oil and let the pan cool, then cook on coals at a lower temp than you heated the oil with. only thing is you have to retreat the skillet every time after its been washed., the good thing is it stays clean, and you only have do this once as long as you dont scrape off the coating during the trip...here is a little demo of this I came across th-cam.com/video/0iSh4ut6Hms/w-d-xo.html
Great video but I can't get past you sawing directly over your femoral artery. 6:53 A slip of the saw could fatally end you in seconds but at least that was over your thigh. 7:20 is even worse as you actually lay the material on your thigh to cut it. That was hard to watch. That area between your legs is called the triangle of death for a reason. Never use a blade of any kind anywhere near the femoral arteries. Look up and use a technique called a plumber's vice to perform sawing tasks and you don't risk severing an artery. Anyway, great video otherwise!
Saw the same thing and cringed. While i dont think the laplander saw would have made it through those bibs it's a bad habit to get into use the plumbers vise. Other than that video and will be buying that pan. Thanks
Using a knife like that is a different story. The saw would most likely scratch or superficially puncture your skin, but not enough to sever your artery.
I just bought one and the directions say not to use in direct flame or on coals. It might damage the pan. I guess I'm stuck using it on a gas stove. :( bummer
Just found your channel and i love that fry pan, great video my friend.
This did it for me, pulled the trigger on the kit. Hoping it will serve well for my motorcycle camping trips.
It's a three ply pan bottom. I just got one. Thanks for the video! Can't wait to get out!!
Thanks for taking me with you on your "Stanley Adventure". Awesome breakfast.

I like the campfire cooking.
The thing that really caught my attention was your little coffee press. You gave a link for everything but.
It's just a single serving metal french press. There are tons of similar models.
Also gotta make sure they aren't washed. Other wise if they are washed you will wanna dip them in mineral oil
Or seal washed or store bought eggs with Palm oil. My preference due to then having no mineral oil in food. I use the Walmart plastic egg carrier.
Dip em in vegetable oil seals the pores no oxygen gets to em
I'm moochdocking at my kids home
They have chickens so I get fresh, free-range and unwashed eggs :)
Great fry pan and breakfast!!! And coffee tops it off!!! Blessings to you and your family 😇

I agree! Thanks for the support!
Hell, buying the Stanley set for my home kitchen, nice pan
I have the same cook set and love it. I also have the Stanley cook pot as one of my other kits. Just joined your channel. Good looked good. Take care
Ordered mine today. Good review. New subscriber. Dude, you had me gringing when you were sawing on your leg. Lol. Good stuff. Look forward to catching up on your videos.
Thank you Sir.
Self reliance outfitters, pathfinder skillets has lids , if i remember correctly they were cheaper shipping in , than Stanley Cookware. And the handle folds under the skillets , my Stanley skillet is on the back porch for a dog food pan ,
Haha haha haha 😄
Great gear show and meal. Thanks
Its a great pan for sure. Stanley has some quality camp products for cooking. Wish they had a size larger in the pan.
I love how that skillet set worked and have to buy one to add to my backpack for camping out with. That is a nice looking unit and I want one badly now after seeing it in action.

I'm using a Stanley Even heat pan also.
Been very happy with it
Love mine. Slide didn't work. Stanley replaced right away. Great customer service.

Was looking for stanley 24oz, found this.... great vid! Subscribed! Now im going with the rest of Your content :)
Nice cooking set buddy! Looking for a nice frying pan not to heavy not too flimsy, been a very interesting video for me. Take care
Love the video and the Stanley gear.....Happy Days my Friend
Thanks for this great video. I had to hunt thru a few 'till i found yours that answered my question to my satisfaction. how well does it perform on an open fire! You done good !
Did you have to or just season the pan because you wanted to…nice video Thanks..
Noticed the lighter at 8:38. Usually fatwood dust takes a ferro rod spark easily.
This is a product review, not a how to video...Thanks for watching!
Great eye
Why struggle with a spark as long as you have a flame?
Coconut oil works very well for non stick abilities. Well, it works very well with cast iron but I assume it will work just as well for ss. Add a little butter for flaver because coconut oil eggs are not that good.
Yummy!👍
I need to go eat eggs in the woods now
May I ask if the fry pan is magnetic or induction ready? Just more appealing to buy and use both for camping and at home. Thank you!
Nice video! Do me a favor, change your habit of using your saw! Could have injured your leg with one little slip! Keep up the great work looking forward to the next video Thanks
I was thinking the same thing! "Triangle of Death" , bro. Good vid though.
Original name by marketing : Stanley Professional Tactical Pan.
Man, I was always taught not to cut or saw toward my crotch area. Too many arteries if a mistake happens.
Suggest to put your eggs in a water bottle , less chance of breaking :) Great vid though !
Hey buddy it look like you haven't even washed it yet for the first time I would have wash it
Why did buddy cross the road? To bring you some eggs. Man that looked like fun and good grub!
Great video AND... Finally someone who uses their saw correctly! Cut until you can break it. There is no reason to waste the saw's edge, your time or strength to cut all the way through.
Very informative video...!!!!!.
Looks like Stanley is using , same patter as pathfinder has now , if thats a 8 inch skillet, pathfinder sells a metal lid for 5 .00
Where can we find the small French coffee press? I have two kinds of the Stanley coffee press' but I do like the smaller one you are using. Thanks for a very good video.
I have had it for years. I do believe it was a Wal-Mart find. Thanks for watching!

@@OutsideTheBoxUS This pan better or Pathfinder skillet?
I have two of these. If that that tells you anything.
Hello! What type of coffee press was that
yes! i want to know too!
Any info/ link for the small french press coffee cup?
Unfortunately it’s not made any more.
What French press are you using
@8:39 what knife is that?
Nice vid bro. Thank you . Where did I get that coffee cup man. Would love to get 1 too.
I’ve have it for years... not sure if it’s still available.
Good video. I love the Stanley stuff. I have the cook cup and have got to get the fry pan. What french press is that?
It’s a 10 year old Walmart find. But I just released a vid on Stanley’s new press, check it out!
I purchased this recently and the lid does not fit. Does anyone else have this issue? I got it specifically because it has the plastic lid so I can put it away dirty without it making a mess in my bag. Great video, just ordered today. Thks for sharing 😊 👍. I subscribed too
Lovin the Stanley sets. Wonder how bad the cooked foods sticks to SS pan. How is cleaning?
If treated right it hold up. Pretty easy to clean!
Anytime I've had something stick just letting it soak has worked
I have the same issue with this frying pan, anything gets stuck pretty bad no matter what you cook on it. I have the full 4 people set, its the only downside I'd say.
Thank you for the review very good vid
Thank you check and my vid and if you are not subscriber you can be
I bought it but I notice when putting it away that the lid does not clamp properly on the pan. So this one falls off. I bought a second copy and this one also has the lid falling off. Has anyone had the same problem?
Plastic spatula melts into your food. Use a silicone one.
Enjoyed the video. So the soot you had on that new pan....do you let it burn in or do you clean your stuff after? I am in soot hell lol. Gets all in my bag. I can use plastic bags but who wants to take those. Thank u
I leave it.... I tend to pack all cook gear together in another nap sack. Then add it to my rucksack. Thanks for the support!
Вода не замезает у него в фляшке -но всравно зима хорошая тема)
You left out the cleaning part ! 😂
Hey brother great vid.. where did you get the french press
At Walmart about 10 years ago.
Good video, but I wanted to see how hard or easy is to wash the pan. 😭
What kind of coffee press is that?
ots a 15+ year old Walmart find...
Shouldn't saw wood Directly over Thigh Meat. You couldve been getting stitches instead of frying Eggs.
You can "season" the pan so it is "non stick" check out this video. Start at the 1:59 mark. th-cam.com/video/IXIfKq6Q8NY/w-d-xo.html
Great channel. Sub’d. 👍
Now I know why all you guys (and some girls) have beards... emergency tinder for fire-making!!!
Is your nalgene bottle 1 quart??? Thanks!!!
yes. 32oz
Thanks

Them eggs wouldn't have stuck if you would have cooked some sausage with them eggs.
"..put it through the ropes.." WTF does that mean?!? lol ~=D
Um never cut anything using your leg as a prop amd always cut away from yourself.rookie mistake.

A wise man once told me that " Directions are merely another mans opinion.'' Thanks for watching!
A gas stove is a direct flame! I think it has been demonstrated that cools may blacken your set. Did you watch the vid?
Of course it will damage it, over a very long time. Screw that it’s steel.
Too many adds in your video
It took You longer to put butter into that pan than most other People's videos !
There is somthing called instant coffe .french pressed lol thats girly man
Instant coffee is crap.
Damn that makes me hungry...and I just ate.Sure can't eat that good at a restaurant. I guarantee it
