  • We love a good progress pic or video, and this footage from DAY Architectural is fascinating to watch. The derelict and once-dangerous Newtown Mill is being made into 35,000 sq ft of innovative learning and teaching space for The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) Burnley.
This multi-million pound project really is being built from the ground up, whilst keeping as many heritage features as is safe to do so.
This joint venture project between Barnfield Developments and Burnley Council will provide UCLan with much-needed further space to expand into, with the aim to encourage young people and raise aspirations within the town. This is the third project within On the Banks that the joint venture has worked on with UCLan. Located within a conservation area, much of the building is being retained and will be sympathetically restored to preserve its heritage.
It is expected that Newtown Mill will be ready to welcome students next year.
A big thank you to DAY Architectural for making and sharing this video with us.
