Kimchi fried rice using pre-fried kimchi which was enhanced with kimchi juice and chili powder and then further enhanced with more kimchi juice and chili powder? Now that's my shit.
For Koreans, pork- especially pork belly, and kimchi are known to be a match made in heaven. That's why we put pork in our kimchi stew. Or grill kimchi next to pork belly when eating kbbq. You all have to try it 😍
I can tell you never tried dog meat when you said it taste like ash xd. And no people don't eat dog because they think it's good for health, they it dog because of wartime and there is nothing else to eat. Pls don't be stupid
love this dish! my favorite from when I lived in Korea. also he gets fancy with it but really all you need is the onion, kimchi, and butter, then the rice. bacon/spam, egg, and seaweed are bonus. no other sauces necessary either.
I happen to think the guy was great in his presentation, also explained himself quite well,as like he's here with me made you feel at home. The fellow hit some stars. Thanks man..
@@timtamothy51 im sad that youve never had anything good enough in your life to elicit a yass. the true cringe is not the subject, but the observer who thinks he is above things and labels joke words used for expressing enthusiasm embarrassing.
my mom makes my kimchi fried rice but uses pork instead of bacon. its my version of chicken noodle soup. whenever im sick, she makes it. when i visit her, its the first meal. its the best.
kimchi is delicious as I make my own at home its not only nutritious but is a fermented product which is so good for your gut health. I learned how to make it from a korean youtuber. It is sold in a small jar in uk which is so expensive so i make my own. How he is making the rice with the kimchi is so delicious.
yooo i've been making kimchi fried rice for years, but this gave me some new inspiration. def used the American ingredients the right way and still kept the essence of kimchi fried rice
Came here after being recommended a Uncle Roger video critiquing a kimchi fried rice cooking tutorial. Now I'm definitely having the munchies watching this at 12.40 midnight.
I love the way he cooks so entertaining and impressive recipe with such a pretty presentation! Gonna try to make this vers now hehe key notes: having the perfect ratio of soy sauce chilli powder and sugar, & of course sesame oil at the end with sesame seeds on top and 김(seaweed crisps)
I took some tips from you and holy shit, this is the best kimchi fried rice I've ever made and eaten. The gochujang and butter mixture plus the roasted kimchi made a world of a difference!!!
Hey Deuki, how would I make this recipe without the bacon but still getting the same flavors or similar flavors? I can have other meats, just not pork products.
Actually, The bacon and butter are not crucial parts. You can make this without the bacon. And if you can not use butter try magerine. Just makes sure fat, oil, and kimchi right. -opinion From Korea.
you can use any kind of protein you want. some use tinned tuna as well and it is pretty good. i personally use beef(scotch fillet). the major flavor of this fried rice comes from kimchi , not the protein inside. the better the kimchi, tastier the fried rice. if you have shitty kimchi, you will need to use soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and etc. to enhance the flavor.
3:50 Did he call it ‘bibimbap’ instead of ‘bokkeumbap’?? In any case I am glad to find a gyopo on TH-cam who knows to put sesame oil in their kimchi fried rice.
KIMCHI PORK BELLY AND FRIED RICE IS BOMB. I grab like two spoonful of Gochujang and I'm dead. There a dish called Cheese Buldak which uses lots of Gochujang, Red pepper powder, and Capasin Powder. That's hell and that's what the cheese is for lol.
I WAS SO FOCUSED ON HIS VOICE AND MOVEMENTS THAT I WAS NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO HOW TO ACTUALLY MAKE THE KIMCHI FRIED RICE, HAD TO REPLAY THE WHOLE VID TWICE
i will tell you secret , use sesame oil to fried kimchi also use slice belly to bake it together .. this will make kimchi 10x better and use korean kim aka nori for garnishing
I do the same thing except I add some chopped see weed, layer it with mozzarella slices, and put it in the oven for 10 minutes. Learned this from my grandma :D
jojojo256000 nope. you could just put gochujang in but because it's a paste. it might be really spicy. basically the chef was adding butter to like cut it down. but no. you can put it in by itself.
Another more traditional way to go about it is using ground beef instead of bacon, using sesame oil instead of butter, and cutting in tons of roasted seaweed. Just if you're interested.
"You should be able to make it drunk" Did I seriously just hear him say that? I am gonna laugh all day until I stuff this recipe into my mouth for dinner.
"You should be able to make it drunk. That's indicitive of a good fried rice."
What an amazing man.
You're easily amazed.
@@Ricky_Spanishh absolutely, hard to be bored in life when the inflatable noodle man is enough to entertain you for hours.
That's why he buys the rice in 😂😂

Now that's my shit.
Whoever thinks red pepper paste (gochujang) is the same as sriracha has no palate.
ChiCityKris gochujang is WAY spicier
and tastier
Sriracha is hotsauce, gochujang isn't. I love both, tho.
ChiCityKris i do it like americans do sriracha. its better.more texture flavor.and its not disgusting like sriracha
ChiCityKris I think it's more they haven't tried it. No one who has tried both thinks that
Uhhh more of this guy pls.

I have been making Kimchi fried rice since buddies showed me how back at Cornell in the 1990's. Kimchi and kotchujang are heavenly.

always watching Munchies, hungry af whyyyy!
Anyone gunna notice he just ate a RAW ass CHUNK of BACON?!
it’s fine in moderation because bacon is a cured meat
I just drooled for 4 minutes and 41 seconds 🤤
I don't usually "cut" gochujang but I don't use it in large spoonfuls. I just use it as a thin spread on the tortillas for my bulgogi tacos...
As a fellow coconut, this dish sings to me.
Just made this and it is amazing!

Damn I'm getting up to make this right now
I probably never knew how to eat Korean chili paste, and for that reason I always preferred Sriracha to Gochujang.
Truly, the spirit of American diet, tasty af, and also overflowing with the calories. Yassss
the butter he's used there is pretty much the whole butter intake of a 6 people family in south korea XD
I just subscribed because of this guy, so +Munchies better be thanking this guy for all the other subs they got haha 😆
Woohoo great recipe, that looks yummy

i love the first line of this video
Freaking obsess with gochujang the korean chili paste. I always add it in my food if I could.
DK gave up drifting to make Kimchi. Proud of him 🙌
YAASSSSSS this looks AMAZING
Could you add it to the cast iron skillet, add some of the kimchi juice, and make the same crunchy crust at the bottom, like a paella? Because needs.
Looks incredibly delicious! 👍
Need your kimchi juice recipe
I just made this and it was amazing!
I can feel myself gaining weight while watching 😭
this looks so fucking good right now

How do you roast the kimchi at the beginning though.

is there a point to merging the gochujang with the butter first as opposed to just adding them separately into pan?
