Pope and Kiara are so much better off as friends. She just never liked him that much romantically. I hope you react to episodes 8 and 10 of this season. They have some great JJ/Kiara moments, and it shows why they would be so good together. Episode 7 gives more of the whole Topper, John B and Sarah stuff. Episode 9 kind of fully wraps up and puts to bed Pope and Kiara’s “romantic relationship”:
I agree - I feel like the dynamic between Kiara and JJ has so much more potential for a romantic relationship because their opposite personalities attract.
I completely agree. JJ and Kiara are just more alike and fit better together romantically, I think. I ship them together so much.
I somewhat disagree, you can tell the show writers wanted Pope and Kiara, but the fans were the ones who pushed JJ and Kiara so they rewrote their relationship into a fling and are looking to set up Kiara and JJ for season 3. The whole argument of “Kiara and JJ have more chemistry” is so faulted because people forget this isn’t reality TV, obviously they have more chemistry because the show writers wrote for those two characters to have more chemistry. They could’ve easily added more cute scenes and moments between Pope and Kiara but they didn’t, instead they made their interactions seem awkward in an attempt to make people ship her with JJ instead.
@@panashe5268 I get what you're saying, and I agree the writers are probably going to go more for JJ and Kiara because the fans want it. But the think about their chemistry and compatibility is that, at least for me, it's not even really all bout their scenes together, it's a lot about who they are individually as characters. And how JJ is individually I think matches up better with who Kiara is than who Pope is. But of course their relationships together and how the interact does play a big part too.
@@panashe5268 I’m really not sure the show runners knew who they wanted Kiara to be with initially. I don’t think they were fully set on Pope necessarily, because Pope and Kie’s scenes in season 1 before they even knew what the fan response was going to be, were handled somewhat weirdly already. After Pope told Kiara that he liked her, she immediately rejected him and said they wanted different things. Then, she suddenly kissed him, and it made it seem like it was out guilt for rejecting him after he had such a strong reaction. If the writers were dead set with having Kie and Pope be together, they shouldn’t have had her reject him so strongly to start with. I’m also not sure if this was the writers or the editors, but the camera seemed to always pan to JJ having a disappointed expression every time Kie would kiss one of the other guys in season 1. I’m not sure if that was intentional or not, but it seemed that way.
I honestly believe chemistry is partly to do with scenes the characters have together, but partly to do with the natural chemistry that’s there between the two people. I just personally don’t think Madison’s and JD have any romantic chemistry as actors. Friendship chemistry definitely, but not romantic. Some actors just don’t have chemistry with each other, and some have a lot without trying. I think Madison and Rudy do. Obviously chemistry is subjective, but that’s just my opinion. I also think that JJ and Kiara have a lot more in common with what they want out of life, and they just seem to mesh better together. I think one of the reasons why I like them so much is because they weren’t necessarily planned, but their chemistry mixed with the scenes they had in season 1 made people ship them, and got the writers to think that maybe they made more sense together. I like that it happened naturally in that way.

i feel like this isn’t a good representation of pope and kiara’s relationship and i think it’s because the reactor doesn’t have the season 1 context. kiara basically never liked pope romantically and when she did, she had to be either convinced by other people (JJ) or drunk/high or in a high stress situation. She also weirdly enough only liked Pope when he acted similar to JJ. She doesn’t like Pope romantically and having sex with him was the nail in the coffin to let her determine that.

i love your reactions, regarding pope and kie, ppl hate on her so much for leading him on but i think she was genuinely confused as to whether she liked him or not and when she realizes she doesn’t she lets him know, so i don’t think ppl should hate in her so much. as regards to john b, sarah, and topper, sarah will always love john b i mean she was willing to die for him and sacrifice her entire life for him, also as you keep watching you will see that at times topper isn’t very genuine and does things to simply please sarah bc he seems to have like a small, and toxic obsession with her

bruh topper made me so mad this episode. he was totally taking advantage of how sarah was in a bad place. also i feel like john bs reaction was justified. he was partly in shock and also like that man killed his dad and framed him for murder so he had every right to not be sad. i think if topper hadn’t came and john b had a few more seconds to process it, he would of hugged sarah.
Kiara and Pope’s relationship is just so much better off as friends. Especially when you take into account the season 1 context. She never liked him romantically and then when Pope confessed his feelings, Kiara basically told him she didn’t feel the same way and that he wasn’t what she wanted. Then Pope started being cold towards her and pushed her away right around the time that John B’s life was in danger and it seems like Kiara felt like her friend group was falling apart and the people she cared about where slipping away and she held onto Pope the only way she could, which was by convincing herself that she could be with him romantically…

About 16:05 tbh I kinda interpreted more like: She knows that if John B. knew the topper was calling her, he’d make a big thing out of it, So she is in a way glad that he doesn’t know about it right now, because she might be sick of his jealousy and the drama that it causes, I actually don’t know, if she really has feelings for topper at this moment, but I don’t know 🤷🏼♀️
That's also a good guess! Ultimately we don't know what the writers were going for. But in a real-life situation--if you are in a trusting, supportive relationship, and you have zero interest in your ex, you shouldn't be hiding something like this. She was. Which either means they are NOT in a trusting relationship OR she likes Topper.

Bro, Sarah's dad blowing himself up is in no way John B's fault. John B was just trying to find the treasure that his dad wanted him to, and get justice for himself and his dad. Ward is just a selfish, crazy, piece of crap. He's the greedy one, not John B.

I was half joking! But do you not acknowledge they were all united in greed? It's not as though John's dad legally OWNED the treasure. And John was willing to do whatever it took to get that treasure. 🤷🏻♂️
Yep, Ward would never want to split the money evenly with 4 other people. John B has no problem splitting it evenly with JJ, Pope, Kiara and Sarah. So definitely not greedy.

@@AnthonyRecenello Ha ha! It's okay. 😅 Yeah, John B's dad was probably going after it a little too hard to the point where he neglected his son for it. But he also put a lot of work into finding it, and I think John B wanted the money of course, but he also just wanted to do it to honor his dad. Plus John B wanted it for his friends too. Goodness knows they need it in a lot of ways. And to be fair, when Sarah got shot John B immediately stopped caring anything about the gold, even when Sarah mentioned it, because all he ultimately cares about is the people he loves.

But the reason that John B isn't sad when Sarahs dad dies or isn't there for her is not because of the gold, it's because Sarahs dad killed his dad so he can't really be sad about it and is probably even a little bit glad that he has his revenge (even through he didn't kill him)

I feel like if you had more information from the first season and some other episodes in the second, you would have more background on everything involving Kie, Pope and JJ. When Pope confessed his feelings to Kiara, she said that she didn't feel the same that they wanted different things for their lives, and maybe even if you had that information you wouldn't change your mind, but sometimes I feel like you haven't seen it yet all angles... I don't know, whatever. I'm loving your videos analyzing Outer Banks 🥰

I personally don’t like what Kiara did to Pope, I went into further detail on another reaction but she essentially ignored with his feelings and used him to get over whatever pain she felt at that time. There were multiple scenarios in which he rejected her because he tried to keep their friendship strictly that, and knew that getting involved with her could possibly leave him heartbroken. However she continued to reassure him that her feelings were sincere, when in reality she didn’t like Pope in that way but hooked up with him because he was a “safe option” compared to hooking up with a random stranger she doesn’t know.
She took advantage of the fact that he was her friend whom she already knew was attracted to her in that way and that regardless of whether she loved him or not that he’d forgive her nonetheless, which he did. It actually disappoints me how many people didn’t talk about this enough and how they tried to justify what Kiara did and make her out to be the victim. People keep saying “well she didn’t know whether she liked him”, but then also say “it’s clear they didn’t have any chemistry” it’s just contradicting.
i definitely don't think kiara acted perfectly but i don't think she ever stated or was clear about her feelings, especially because we need to remember how crazy their lives are right now. i don't think she was using him per say she just was really confused. though she definitely could have navigated it better bc it definitely was harsh on pope. i also think they could've worked out if they didn't rush into it and it wasn't at this time in their lives

Her dad shouldn’t have committed suicide. What about his kids?! I don’t think you can blame John B for it though. That’s not fair on him. Her dad is a grown man. It’s not like if someone bullies or harasses someone with less power than theme and causes them to be socially isolated or threatens them to the point they feel that death is the only way out. Her dad is rich so he could have hired a lawyer and turned himself in for less time.
