She does it pretty well. I'm having a hard time pinning down which version she is doing... Southern Appalachian Suburban with a mix of Texan (Golf Coast) maybe? Maybe more Texan (Golf Coast) because of the lack of "Yin's" or "Ye'ins" (plural for "You" where most others do "Y'all"), I don't know if I spelled that right... I never saw either written. It's extremely close to my Southern kin who are nomadic, living in the South but never growing roots anywhere. Ironically, they can still speak the old tongue (Gaelic) as well even though they cannot read a lick of it. Meh... time to stop ranting. I digress, it makes me happy when people do Southern accents who are not actual USA Southerners... they are as often if not more so, eh, what's the word... charming? Fascinating? Cute? Charmingly fascinatingly cute? I guess I can just say "makes me happy" too. ;)
Netflix (and similar services): "So, you have internet and cable, which you are paying for? Here! Here's another service you need to pay for!" That may make no sense to you but the internet, as it is in the USA, was built via Clinton era taxpayer dollars, which are paying internet service providers that were supposed to just give access to everyone. But, those companies hogged up all the access and then made only paying them for access get access to the new restructured internet... double-dipping... paid by the US government to give access to everyone in the USA then making everyone who wants access also pay for it. Then, allowing other networks to rent property there. Then, allowing them to make people pay more for services they already had. Then, making new channels that can be only purchased via internet subscriptions. If this trend keeps going, you will have to rent a special antenna for your television to get your "free" TV and your phone will require premium access to get to allow you to call emergency services on top of you paying a special fee to not have sound-activated internet access devices in your home and-or the privilege to shut them off (privacy). That sound insane? It's not. Back in my day, people were always worried that "big brother" will "wire-tap" (mass-surveillance) everything. Kindred cynics like myself and me were like "Oh, please. The idiotic masses via fear and-or laziness will pay for it and consider it a privilege. Everyone will feel safer, talk into the wiretaps for what they want, and expect to be billed for it. They will all talk through them." Well, we were right... not at all happy about that. So, now there is convenience that became required that became advertisements for what was originally purchased that became that became premium that became basic without price lowering that became advertisements for what was purchased before that is now a free market to purchase new content as single channels and services double-to-quadruple-fiscal-dips. So, in short, f^ck Netflix and other "paid channels". Pirated content are not thieves anymore, they are Robin Hoods. Aside from that, I totally love Dungeon Dudes and their fun content. Who needs to pay Extortion Inc. for as long as people like this provide us hours of great content.
As usual, loving the chemistry, that the 4 of you have. Really shows off how fun D&D is. Also, untold tales are great way to see different classes 'in motion'. Personally wasn't a fan of Artificer until I saw Jerry Rigz. Now I might play an Artificer Armorer in an upcoming game.
For every non German speaker some Translations for the German Names of all the Places on the Map (some of them are pretty funny ^^) Leuchten = glowing Geldstadt = Money City (geld = money, Stadt = City) Achtungwald Forest = Attention Forest Forest (Achtung = Attention, Wald = Forest) Todesfeld = Deathfield (Tod = Death, Feld = Field) Altbrücke = Oldbridge (Alt = old, Brücke = bridge) Heilig = holy or sacred Helburg = could mean Hellburg and that would be "bright castle" (Hell = bright, Burg = Castle or Stronghold) Tierhaven = Animal haven (Tier = Animal)
As a German speaker (native) it is kind of weird to see these names, aspecially because they are prounced so differently by them (i.e. Achtungwald Forest)
So i am from Germany and i had quite a good chuckle seeing that map xD Achtungwald Forest literally means Attentionforest Forest ^^ I love these Oneshot episodes they are quite refreshing from those Grand Campaigns and they allow you guys to play characters which have a few screws lose.

Thank you very much for continuing to improve the technical aspect of these remote games, and definitely for adding the Roll20 stuff, being able to see what's happening is great :D
Just finished this one. Can't wait till the stream to watch part 2! It's great to have the visuals back and seeing this group in action again. Thanks for the hard work!
The Achtungwald Forest really made me giggle. The sound has really pick-up since your first outing. The map was great to see. Jill's backdrop is pretty cool.
Thank you for using roll20 (or similar)! it's so much fun to be actually able to see you move and do things more clearly, while I like seeing your minis, digital medium like this are easier to actually see what's going on, not to mention that it makes it possible to see you guys move around during non-combat as well, I feel like theatre of the mind is fine for the players but personally I have a harder time getting into non-combat (and sometimes even during combat I have no idea what's going on). I really enjoyed seeing Rudi, Wilhelm, and Wrath again! episodes are so much more enjoyable when it's characters I've gotten to know a bit. For Monty: Looks like you did so towards the end, but I'll say it just in case: you might wanna reveal a little bit of extra fog around doors so they aren't missed.
Ty so much for continuing to do these 1-2 shots. I am enjoying them a lot. Monty great job with DungeonDraft and Fog. I found that DungeonDraft is better for cave design and Fog is better for towns and dungeons. We use roll 20 in our D&D campaign. Ty for all your videos that you and Kelly do. I’ve listened to Dungeon of Drakkenheim twice already.
From my experience with roll20, I love using the dynamic lighting to not only block vision of the players of things behind walls but also have each player only see their own view of the map. I also like leaving dead bodies on the board so the players can see if piles are made. A good example is the first room down the stairs. The stairwell blocks the light as the map indicates by the light shown on the map. You could not only add an invisible light source to mimic the light so the players can see it, but also add a second invisible light in the room which only gives out dim light to simulate the reflection of the bright light down the stairs to light up the rest of the room. I love the way it looks so much better then the reveal tool.
@Dungeon Dudes I'd also add to have a look at things like VTT Enhancement Suite. I run it and one of the biggest things it does for me is mark the tokens with what layer they are on, and what layer you are viewing. If you ignore the rest of the features this was a big help for me! I also second the Dynamic Lighting. Saves having to unmask each area, plus if you set lighting for the character tokens, what they can see is what they can see.
Since Veo's first appearance was meeting Sebastian for the first time since they were kids, I doubt it... But seeing Sebastian and Pluto's meeting would be fun
Yes I love watching goats but this episode is bigger than goats and I love it. It's always fun watching you play dungeons and dragons, you make me smile.
NICE good to have you guys back, been missing it. Running a Drakkenheim campaign atm btw, and absolutely loving it. Confining play to a single city is actually serves to make the world feel so much more alive than a sandbox, because as a DM i actually have time to know what is going on everywhere.
As a native german speaker I really get a kick out of your location names! :) It kind of gives a bit of context what to expect from a place. Those were some really confident people calling their city "money city"... :D
As a viewer, I must say I prefer the Roll20 battel maps. As much fun as the Drawenforge miniatures may be for you at the table, for us viewers, it's easier to follow what's going on like this.
Achtung Wald?! I see what you've done there ;) Also, I literally check every day for your next episode. Due to the quarantine I've finally managed to catch up!
Very good use of Roll20 to compliment the game. It was great...almost seamless. But the core is still the four of you and how great you interact with each other...so much fun to watch! The soul of your games is your friendship and love for the game. I wanted to point out Monty's comment about how using Roll20 gives the best table top view for we the viewers...I totally agree. If there's any frustration I've had in the past with your beautiful Dwarven Forge setup is that there were times we the viewers couldn't really see what was going on. Might sound a bit crazy, but would you consider continuing to use a VTT during in-person sessions, for the sake of the viewers?
I was for a story from the point of view of the falling fire, especially to see how they react to assassination in the chapel But more to know what they are doing with the bones of the dragon
If you are having trouble as a D.M. with player immersion try to keep in mind P.C state of mind. A slip and fall would be perceived differently when filtered through different stimuli. For example if you just made a perception check are raging concentrating on a spell or casting a cantrip and slip. You breath out sharply everything's is sideways and you realise your feet slid out from under you. However if you're focusing on a body based skill like picking a lock firing a bow manipulating a weapon or casting shield, bark skin. That would be your feet slide out from under you you feel a moment of free fall and hit the ground. On a turn with action serge, haste or a monk dropping flurry of blows. Your feet slide out from under you none of your limbs are grounded you are free falling onto the ground.
you can unsnap tokens by right clicking on it near the bottom is one that says "advanced" if you mouse over on it there will be an option "is drawing" this will make the token unsnapped and it stays that way until you manually reset it by the same method. you can also move the tokens with a distance measure. left click and hold to pick up the token then tap right mouse button and move, a line with distance will be left and if you click right mouse again it will leave a "checkpoint" and start a new measure line. when you release the mouse the token will move to that location.
I would love to see a side story involving the hooded lanterns, or maybe the followers of the fallen fire. I feel like there could be some good material there. Maybe a patrol gone wrong for the Lanterns, and maybe an expedition into the crater for the followers...🤔🤔 Possiblities
Duck Wardens time. Glad to see that the duck joke is actually being made to work and have grounds beneath itself. Originally it was a kind of almost forced meme because it only came up in the first session of Shadows and wasn't a recurring thing, unlike most Dungeons jokes - but now that you give a one-shot about it, it almost... adds flesh to it and makes it not a forced but an "it makes sense now" thing. Great idea, and here's hoping for a very big duck in the second part.
I genuinely loved this. Especially the scene with the interrogation of the goblin, had me in stitches. Could anyone tell me how the ballista works? Would love to include that in my sessions at some point
Omg excited to watch. I have to finish the dungeons of drakenheim first but glad to see more are happening. Also are there playlists with the different campaigns your group has ran so I can catch up on them. Have been binge watching dungeons of drakenheim.
Yes. We have dungeons of Drakkenheim which is season one, shadows of Drakkenheim is season 2, and the untold tales of Drakkenheim are short mini adventures that take place during both seasons but from the perspective of different factions and different characters.
roll 20 has kept us playing so im thankfull for that, but i do miss rolling my dice! The dynamic lighting really changed how u see stuff in the dark. Im good at not using stuff my character dosent see but when we used the dynamic lighting i realized i really cant see as well as i thought.
We plan to continue by the end of June, we hope to be able to keep shadows as us playing in the same room, but if that hasn’t happened by end of June, we will continue regardless.
I saw this in my recommended like 3 times and was always like " I've seen this months ago, stop it" I never realized it was new until I went to the channel page. Then I felt stupid for not paying attention lol
Complacency a level 3 spell causing indifference to what would be a moral dilemma. You may correct this by confronting them, attempt cast divine intervention or the problem growing into a dipravity. The spell depraved indeffrence is a level 8 spell and a group confrontation (intervention) mite fail.
hahaha. seeing the map for the first time, i suddenly realize that you are using german names the whole time and just pronounce them english. being german the pronounciation of the word Achtung (which means caution, attention or esteem btw) is just hillarious :D and since Wald means forest, Tierhavn is located in the „caution forest forest“ :) this also explains why many names sound germanic, especially in the hooded lanterns.
Dungeon Dudes totally with you on that. and i really appreciate it, that the names seem to have a similar language, which makes the world way more believable. just promise me to never try to pronounce „Achtung“ in german :D
So we done with the mission for the amethyst academy I need to know what happen like and are the characters dialed back in levels or im kinda lost now and I missed you guys by the way been a while... Welcome back!!!!
Amethyst academy was the “clean up crew” episodes, there are two of them, then we did “rooked” a two part queens men story, and now we are doing “way bigger than ducks” which is a prelude to season two.
@@DungeonDudes I thought rudi and crew were working for the Amethyst Academy also they met river now i gotta go watch again to see what I missed sorry about the mix up thanks for the content :)
Thanks. A recent change on TH-cam has added an excessive number of mid-roll ads to our videos, and we're going through everything to fix them. Thanks for letting us know!
me , nacked, waiting that this damned camera stops reccording ;=)) could the dungeon dudes advice me which spell i can use to get out of here unseen ? hahaha
1:32:35 this is not an attack but does this technically mean that Wilhelm is sorta racist to an extent? lol, there was also that part at 1:47:48 where he goes on to insult all goblins again

Tierhaven = Animal haven (Tier = Animal)
So it's redundant to make animal tier lists?
even drakkenheim translates to dragon land or dragon world depending on the translation.

He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Simply love this wonderful game
Kelly's quack was on point
roll 20 has kept us playing so im thankfull for that, but i do miss rolling my dice! The dynamic lighting really changed how u see stuff in the dark. Im good at not using stuff my character dosent see but when we used the dynamic lighting i realized i really cant see as well as i thought.
2:07:35 they hit Houdini… that was an ‘owl omen’… 😅
amusing Willhem's eye patch switched eyes
That bugbear should've had better manners then to sit at the "head" of the table 😏
I'm sure you've already told us, but I missed it; when do you plan to continue Shadows? No rush at all, I'm just curious.
We plan to continue by the end of June, we hope to be able to keep shadows as us playing in the same room, but if that hasn’t happened by end of June, we will continue regardless.
@@DungeonDudes That makes total sense. I can't wait to continue watching, but safety comes first. Either way, Drakkenheim will always be awesome!
I saw this in my recommended like 3 times and was always like " I've seen this months ago, stop it" I never realized it was new until I went to the channel page. Then I felt stupid for not paying attention lol
Me: it's about ducks, it'll be super wholesome!
The dusk wardens: ýøů wīľł ťŕīģğęř ţhë țŕăp őř đïē
Me: ......... well........... that... happened.....?
Asking about a haircut in May of 2020? Oh, if you only knew...
Complacency a level 3 spell causing indifference to what would be a moral dilemma. You may correct this by confronting them, attempt cast divine intervention or the problem growing into a dipravity. The spell depraved indeffrence is a level 8 spell and a group confrontation (intervention) mite fail.
hahaha. seeing the map for the first time, i suddenly realize that you are using german names the whole time and just pronounce them english. being german the pronounciation of the word Achtung (which means caution, attention or esteem btw) is just hillarious :D and since Wald means forest, Tierhavn is located in the „caution forest forest“ :)
this also explains why many names sound germanic, especially in the hooded lanterns.
Yeah, German speaking fans will probably get a kick out of how obvious the naming is, sounds awesome in English though!
Dungeon Dudes totally with you on that. and i really appreciate it, that the names seem to have a similar language, which makes the world way more believable. just promise me to never try to pronounce „Achtung“ in german :D
Flint: Unless you let me out of the cage! :-P
Fowl Omen! 👌
Aahhhhh I'm so excited your back
Bruce!!! What a Cat astrophy....
2:10:45 Don't you mean "I do a Wilhelm scream?"
...I'll show myself out.
I don't like the Roll20 dice roller but I have really liked the New D&D beyond one that just came out if you decide to use one.
Should have sent the owl to track the goblins
@19:20 Inspiration!
When Monty loses his shit... inspiration.
I missed seeing the portraits of our heroes.
Ich frage mich was für Einflüße hattest du für Ort Namen? Hmmm.
Do you have much experience with Germany personally?
Yes, I've been travelling in Germany almost every summer since 2015 or so!
Deutschland ist toll!
Are the Untold Tales ever going to be added to Spotify?
If you shift Ping as the GM it'll Auto drag the map to your Ping.
Holy ad overload, Batman!
Thanks. A recent change on TH-cam has added an excessive number of mid-roll ads to our videos, and we're going through everything to fix them. Thanks for letting us know!
@@DungeonDudes Thanks for the content! Love y'all's streams!
Don't worry, guys, this is WAY smaller than Goats.
After watching the tv show “Heartland” I almost can’t tell they’re acting.
Just curious, how was this one shot map made?
I think it’s a Dungeonfog map brought over to Roll20.
Divinity original sin2 has a gm mod. If you use the engine data. You can create maps and play dnd in divinity 2. That would be cool to watch
Can any one tell me the video chat they're using
We're using Zoom!
2:01:40
I would gladly invite you guys to play with our group!
Now Ive
got to know what is behind Jill's bedsheet
me , nacked, waiting that this damned camera stops reccording ;=))
could the dungeon dudes advice me which spell i can use to get out of here unseen ? hahaha
1:32:35 this is not an attack but does this technically mean that Wilhelm is sorta racist to an extent? lol, there was also that part at 1:47:48 where he goes on to insult all goblins again
I would really like to know what microfoon Monty is using.
55:00
Honestly I really like Critical Role, but I love having these shorter series which feel more focused and 'tight'.
Spoiler: Flint was a great character, how did you think of how to roleplay the goblins and bug bear?
